is anybody interested to do a le mans race on saturday evening ?
i was thinking about a 2 or 3 hour race starting at 21:00.
normally i would be at le mans at this moment to enjoy the atmosfere and the race this weekend, but due to circumstance i can't be there this year.

Unfortunately I might not be able to do a long race this saturday It's a great idea though, two hours without a driver change is more practical and at another time I would love to do it

I'll get there if i don't drink too much.
If your serious, you should organise some hosting for it if you aint, also ask a Moderator to bump the tread up "Announcements | Fun Races" and get in calendar.

Thanks for the link I've installed the track on the server, and when selecting a race I see there are several options, 2003 Le Mans, plain Le Mans, Dawn/Dusk etc. Have you one in particular in mind?

If you *do* fancy a break from the regular track, Dawn LeMans is a beaut of a track

Sounds very interesting. I did an online lemans race with 6 other drivers and it was a blast, although it was only for about 1/2 hour. It is a fun track to drive and would be a great to see 15-20 members out there. It's fun being next to another car or two crusing down the long straight at top speed. With the race being 2 hours or more, pitstops would just add to the challenge.
I look forward to seeing some other tracks than the originals being used for fun races, such as lemans here.

i wonder if the day/dusk/night/dawn time switch will work on a online game ? that would really be cool.

Well its one of the few things that does work in the game :-) unfortunately it aint cool, it aint cool at all... It causes a track load. Pretty piss poor in this day and age.

yup that's a bit of a dissapointment, it would be cool if you could have a realtime change from day to night without that track reloading bit. another thing that i figured out is that you could only host a 1990 24h lemans session, i went i had a look in the lemans.gdb file and found a "nomp" line deleted that one, and hey you can host a 24h lemans race with the last track. i have a test server running at this moment called Le Mans 24H (set on 100%)., only bit is that it supports 350kb/s upload. so if you guys wanna give it a try, and drive 24 hours, be my guest :-)

Lo peeps, My first post here so be gentle with the replies . I just drove some Le Mans just now, but it was the 1990 version with the awesome long straight (no hairpins). Perhaps it's an idea to pick that 1, cause I can manage a 3.45 on that 1 which seems to be a good time for others on the 'hairpinned' version, lol! Anyways I'll try to be there! (And hopefully by that time I can login to that FMI stuff ) T
