Season 38 - F1 65 open Fun Race - Monza67

We use the good "new" Monza 1967 track made by Ginetto
INFO:
This track replaces the original version using a more accurate layout and a better set of textures and objects.
Built in a one year period using objects from John Basara and textures from Thomas Laechele made originally for Monza 10k.
With help of the Team, we then modified or scratch made new objects and new textures.

Yes it was a great race until David's engine broke  Cry

You drove a very fair race Fran. A lot of wheel-to-wheel racing with no contact, it was great fun. We had a few practice runs at Parabolica in preparation for the last lap. Because I was ahead out of Lesmo 2 on the last lap, I decided to hold a wide line at Ascari and and take the inside line for Parabolica. You wanted the wide line too but that armco got in the way! I think that's where you lost you momentum and a chance to have a go at me around the outside of Parabolica.

Server was perfect Axel. Very close racing with no warp contact.

I broke my engine in the middle of the Lesmos when I tried to keep Lotus driving Roo behind me  Grin

Server was a lot more reliable than my shifter;  which was becoming more erratic as the event progressed to the point of becoming quite comical!

Will re-test old units in case they are less-knackered;  but have a replacement on order following this event Smiley

Had also taken the opportunity to run/test with the FFB3test1 GEM+ option tonight.   I'd tried FFB2 a number of years ago, but instantly did not get on with that.  However, round Monza I soon forgot about FFB3test1, so maybe that worked out ok.  Will keep it in place for now.

Thanks for the run, although I only saw the field as they were zooming past to (re)lap me.

Cheers,
Dave.

Mean you that the warp depends on the server and not on the bounding box? For warp i mean when 2 cars very close to each other hook up.
Is correct?

No!
Warp is 99.9% from clients side,
server gets signals from a client - server sends these signals back to the other clients

You play your game on your PC, server does not know anything of what you see  Shocked

If one client who has a bad connection gets a delay and sends delayed signals - your game goes on with estimating where the other driver could/should be.
Suddenly the received signal shows the driver is elsewhere and so your PC makes this correction and sets him to the place reported.
This is WARP

You can see it when you let show the latency in game
at iGOR every ping over 200 is not free of warp,
and it's your ping!

Bit of a long lonely race.  A mistake on lap 1 saw me fall towards the back, had a couple of laps following Fulvio when I outbraked myself again when my chair moved back.  Hope I didn’t disturb your line Fulvio. Then mostly on my own the rest of the race with a couple more mistakes.  Very race rusty, added to by poor consistency.  Hoping to rejoin for several races again in the coming season.

Server was solid for me for the few laps I had any cars around.  Smiley

Grin Latency in GEM is the wheel latency! Grin

when you have a wheel in car and the fanatec in front of you - turn it and you see the delay/latency in motion!
+ if you use FFB2 of brr it should look like this

Good fun in the wee Cooper at Monza.  Anything would have been better than my recent run here in GP67 Sprint series where I didn't get more than 10 metres beyond the S/F line off the start.  LOL!

Grats to Ray on a fine win!  Great job.  Must ask...  Are you a keyboarder?  Your car seems to jink about a bit even on the straights.

Alain a fine P2 but I must apologize for ruining any chance that he had at a last lap, last gasp pass opportunity thanks to my gaffe going into the Parabolique on the final tour.  On virtually every lap preceding, I ran down that straight down from Ascari in 6th gear changing down to 2nd gear for the Para.  On that fateful last lap and in the lead with Ray and Alain close behind, I held 5th gear.  Ray moved alongside for an outbrake for the Para and I was ready for it.  However...  My brain was attuned to making four change-downs but in the heat of the moment, I forgot that I was in 5th gear, not 6th.  Uh-oh...  The revs went to the Moon as I went right down to 1st gear and the 910 slewed to the inside almost clipping the guardrail.  I'm astonished that I managed to actually make it around the corner but in keeping it on the road, screwed pour Alain out of any chance to challenge Ray.  Sorry for that.  I did, at least, manage to hand on to P3.  Up from P11 on the grid.  Not too shabby.

It's not lost on me that Coopers swept the podium.  Woohoo!  Smiley

TY for hosting!

Thanks, Doni! And yes, I'm still a keyboarder after all these years...hahahaha. So it means I'm working on the "steering wheel" 99% of the time, even in the straights Grin

Had an amazing amount of fun since the green flag until the very last corner. Fair and hard battles with Alain and Doni. Pity your gear-issue at the end, Doni. It would be a thrilling end of the race!
These 65 cars are a blast to drive anywhere, but in a fast track like Monza the enjoyment is even higher!
Thanks to the organisers. Looking forward to more 65 challenges like that Wink
