Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the Euro and American Track Packs for this series (And maybe another
non pack track occasionally)
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.

(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.

So. I have created the calendar for this series based on Birgir's suggestion of 2020 F1 events
Like the idea, and it's a no brainer for me to do  Grin

I have been doing some more testing at the tracks, which are mostly quite fast tracks, and these Tatuus F4 cars to me are
just plain boring at these tracks. With max front grip, min rear grip min rear wing they still just understeer and you have to try
hard to lose the back end. Will produce some close racing, which is a good thing, but we already have an easy drive
series with the Scirocco. I have been testing the F90, which are proper F1 cars, are evocative of the era, sound
amazing, particularly the V10, and with some setup mods and a gentle right foot I can drive them.
I assumed that everyone would just run max power (the engine maps are 1-5) but it isn't that straightforward
My best time at Zeltweg for a long time, was with the V8 at Map 1 and reduced rear wing. I could hit the power earlier
and with more confidence, though it was slower on the straights than Map 5, it had to be a long straight for
Map 5 to catch up. At Monza and Spa I could run Map 5 with some care, but at the slower tracks with off camber
corner exits, like T1 and 2 at Zeltweg I found Map 5 too risky.

There are subtle differences between the V12, V10 and V8. The V10 is the hardest to drive for me, it seems heavier at the rear
and wants to swap ends into and out of corners more than the other two. It may be the fastest in the right hands
but My best lap at Zeltweg was in the V12 @ 1:17.0 with map 4 and max rear wing. V8 was 1:17.3 with map 1 and half rear wing
V10 was 1:18.1 at Map 5 and full rear wing.

I have moved this series to F90, they are way more involving, and I can drive them easier than the Touring Classics

Have a run in the V12 at Spa if you want to try one. It is quite satisfying

Hmm. ok shorter tracks might better suit the lack of horsepower in these things.

I must have missed those 'F1' cars

Bit puzzled about the last race Matt, do you have some inside info about Bahrain coming to RRE?

No, I am mistaken. Was not fully awake this morning..  Roll Eyes  Will be something similar with a desert maybe

Here's a taster. A few corners at Spa in a V12, then a lap from the pits at Imola in a V8
Geforce experience recording has very low sound here.

Note: Car Change to FR90

I have decided to run this series as 1990's F1 type cars. They are not as hard to drive as the DTM2020 we ran at the weekend
and most people managed those ok, so these should be a good challenge, but drivable with a cautious right foot  Cool

These are awesome, great noise, fabulous speed, and lots of setup options to get a car anyone has a chance of driving
I will put links to some more drivable than default setups for those who don't have the time.

Fine by me. Didn't drive these cars before but the V8 seems okay after the tyre update.

V8 or V12 are my faves. The V10 seems harder to drive for me, so maybe the fastest with an  alien in the seat.

Had a quick go last night after the TC race. Only 9 seconds off the AI pace, 2.5 seconds slower than the slowest  Roll Eyes

Thanks Matt but I assume these are going to need significant tweaks for each circuit we visit?

To some extent yes. I will post the setups when I need to change.
I haven't done the event pages for the other races yet.

For Hungary for e.g I think I just ran with this Zeltweg setup. There is (for me) only so much I can do before
I can't drive them. So it's mostly about rear wing and map choice. Faster tracks can use a higher
map, and may get away with less rear wing. Portimao was challenging over the crests as always
so again this setup would probably be about right. That's what I used in testing.
