Eddie Meyer comes round the penultimate corner and hits Chunky who has spun. Eddie spins off to the inside, and attempts to rejoin. Unfortunately he gets too much wheelspin and the car spins again on the grass. Eddie then uses the momentum to get the car back on track. He rejoins at 90 degrees to the track and is hit by Martin as a result, who loses a place.

Although Eddie was having trouble rejoining, doing so at 90 degrees to the track is a big no-no, especially on a blind corner. It is vital to attempt to rejoin at a gentle angle to make sure you stay out of the way of approaching cars, even if this means that you lose more time. I have reduced the penalty by 1 place because of the problems Eddie was having rejoining.

  • Eddie Meyerpenalty — Bad Rejoin — 2 places lost

From there it was a matter of trying to stay as much in touch with Jamera as I could in case he made another mistake, and concentrating as much as possible on good exit speed. In the last few laps Reign Man was catching me very quickly even with a completely buckled in front end but luckily the flag was out and I just managed to keep the place. No way could I have held him off for another complete lap!

Thats from when i decided to remodel my front end on a tyre wall.  Angry It did not seem to slow me down to badly though, just had a spot of understeer in the higher speed corners

i think there was some confusion at the end of the formation lap, at the back anyway - there seemed to be some delay in getting going in front of me, so i lost about 3 places with cars behind going past... Undecided
Anyway, had a good battle with Ivan for a few laps, and i think Oilseal.
Ivan and i were quite happy swapping paint throughout the race, untill i took us both off on the final turn - sorry m8  :'(
I got a puncture on the right rear on the following lap, leaving the front left off the ground. i tried to pit, but there was no way i was going to get around the track without getting in anyones way, so had to leave .

Some good driving all the way through the field, grats to perdy for the win, and all who took part.

Great stuff for the academy series  Shocked

This was my 1st ever GTR2 (and GTR) league race. Qualified 12th, more than a second slower than PB, which was a bit disappointing. The 1st part of the race was quite hectic and I got passed by Gizmo (solid and clean  Grin). Later on I had to let go two TVRs (picnic and Merlin I think) and tried to stay close which wasn't easy. Back to 15th the rest of the race was rather uneventful until the last lap. Turning into the last lefthander before the finish line I crashed into a porker which was parked in the middle of the track.
Trying to rejoin the track I spun on or rather off the grass and rolled onto the track just when Dangerman and Martin came round the corner. Sorry about that Undecided

I was in front of you, I thought that when u put your pit limiter on exiting the 2nd to last corner it had to stay on! But the cars in front of me clearly pull away from me. so i kept mine on not wanting to break the rules (as i understood them).  Sad

Well that was a tale of 2 stories for me - The Race & Biology!

Was happy with Qualli, did a pb in the 350z. Started at the back of the grid (as usual  Smiley) and dropped into a nice rhythm - then the biology came into play. My lad decided to barge into the room with a picture of a human torso and asked me if I could identify certain parts, for his homework! "Are you real? I`m racing", after quite a choice reply, he left the room, but my concentration was gone and I slammed it into the wall at T1 - that just wound me up even further, and I proceeded to do exactly the same on the following lap - *obhead!!!
My mental state at that point suggested a jacket with buckles might be in order, so I called it a day.

Really struggle with getting heat into the tyres on the 350 - they were that cold they had a woolly hat and a scarf on, and those mittens (you know the ones with the string).

Anyway, glad the new season is here, congrats to the podium, see you next time.

Cheers

Should i come off the pit limiter then?

The rules state

Quote from: The Rules
The leader shall not disengage their limiter until they cross the start line.
Each following driver should only disengage their limiter when the driver directly ahead does.

I didn't mind you hanging on as it gave me a bit a breathing space for the first couple of laps Wink

Yes, but if the drivers ahead fail to put on their limiter early enough then it seems reasonable to catch up.

Yes, indeed; there has to be an element of common sense, and if a large gap opens up in front after the limiter is supposed to be on it's not fair to be disadvantaged or to disadvantage those behind by not closing it up.

The other thing I've noticed is people not going until they reach the start/finish line; you can go as soon as the car directly in front does and again there's no need to disadvantage yourself by hanging around until reaching the line.

Ah, didn't think this was the case ... going when you cross the line seemed fine to me, generally you're not close enough to the car infront to cause an incident - this is certainly the case when T1 is reasonably high speed as it is at Brno.

For the most part it seems to work out that you go as you reach the line anyway. Cheesy

From my experience, usually from the nice end of the grid Wink, the two pretty much are the same thing. Only 1 or 2 car lengths in it usually.

Last night Damac was on my tail as we approached the go, I went when the car in front had and Damac didn't seem to for quite a few seconds after.

Congrats to Perdy and Luke and a special thanks to PRibiero for an excellent race thumbup1 It was really tough but a good way to earn my first podium.

Qually was ok, didn't get near my PB as I had a pretty good practice build up to this race but 4th was ok. Didn't get as much time to prepare the race but mediums all round meant it would last and I was able to run consistant laps.

Started off quite slow while the tyres came up to temp. Got a bad start and Reign Man was able to put me under a lot of pressure straight away. He had a great pace for the first lap and got by quite easily. PRibeiro nearly did as well but I held on by the skin of my teeth (great side by side stuff!). Tyres then came and I was up to pace. Reign Man was closing in on Adam's M3 until unlikily he span. In the meantime I was getting serious grief from PRibiero. Could hold him off in the straights but round corners the Vertigo was great. It pretty much stayed like that for what seemed like ages. I would eke out the smallest of margins only to be back under the cosh again a alp later! It was great fun but very hard work!

Toward the end while still battling (I thought it would never end!) we started to close in on Adam as his tyres wore. I thought it might give PRibiero the chance to pass me as all 3 of us went nose to tail. Fortunately for me just as I was begnning to think I will need to pass Adam and quickly he had a big understeer slide on corner exit and that allowed a pass down the striaght. To my dismay Priberio also got up the inside to continue his assault! The 3 of us battled it out for a lap or two before it finally ended and I got my first podium still with a looming Vertigo just behind.

Well done to all, didn't see many cars at all spinning and the times were all pretty close so great driving. Thanks again to the orgainsation no problems here at all. With Luke getting second we scored good points for 28CD for the second race in a row!

i could not see the rear lights of the car, so had to wait until i knew you were pulling away.
