Moderator's Report

There was a problem during the final lap which caused the server to lose track of Merlinthepike and Gomes Silva whilst they took the chequered flag. The results have been adjusted to show Merlin 5th, Gomes 6th, and Locutos 7th.

Server replay time: 458s

Ossie is following Cej very closely up the hill towards 12. Cej begins braking and moving towards the apex but Ossie brakes too late and runs into the back of him, putting Cej into the barriers and destroying his engine.

Whilst this is primarily Ossie's fault, especially as it was on the first lap, drivers must be aware that if they position themselves in the middle of the track at the beginning of a braking zone, they greatly increase the chances of the driver behind running into them if they make a mistake or simply underestimate how early the driver in front will brake.

  • cej (ce)advice — try to avoid starting to brake in the middle of the track
  • ossie (Ossie)penalty — rear ending Cej on lap 1 (reduced slightly) — 2 places lost

Server replay time: 485s

Chunky brakes far too late for turn 1 and bodyslams JonBall, putting them both into the gravel.

  • Chunkypenalty — contact with JonBall — 2 places lost

Server replay time: 3462s

This starts with the leader lapping Dangerman as he comes out of the final turn, allowing Reign Man's TVR to close on and then get alongside the former's Porsche.

Dangerman moves right but is then squeezed back to the left by Reign Man, who makes contact with him in the process. This contact is uncesessary.

Reign Man then brakes slighty later for turn 1 and is half a car length ahead as they turn in. RM doesn't quite stay tight to the curb and Dangerman makes light contact as he turns in, but I regard that as a racing incident.

However, Dangerman then tries to take the line again despite the fact that the TVR is half a car length further ahead and within a car's width of the inside curb, and bounces off him into the gravel.

Dangerman was of the opinion that he was entitled to the corner because he turned in earler. Wrong, I'm afraid. The TVR was further ahead and had the inside line. To try it once could be regarded as a racing incident; to do it again (and take yourself off in the process) is foolishness. The replay doesn't leave much room for doubt.

How do I get the password?   Would like to have a go, even if its only for the practise session.

You need to sign up for a reserve spot in the official registration thread.

If you are only allocated a reserve slot you cannot join until practise 2 starts, which is when reserves are allowed in. If you do not intend racing and only want to take part in that 10 minute session you could potentially prevent a reserve who does want to race from joining the server. I would suggest that if you want to take the plunge into enduro then stay for the race, but please do not just quit out should things not go well initially.it is really frustrating for the other drivers. Enduro racing by definition is not all about who is fastest, it's about who is more consistant and stays the distance. I am not the quickest driver by a long shot, but have managed respectable enduro championship finishes because I attended and finished most of the events. It is a very different type of racing to the sprint events, but one that I personally find more rewarding Grin

A mixed night for me again, got a 2:01.577 (would have been good enough to be the 2nd NGT car) - but then the computer crashed, and I never got a decent lap in through traffic.  Started down the grid, but made places up through early spinners.  Had a great battle with Reign Man for the first 40 minutes I think it was.

I overtook Reign Man whilst he was pitting (after I'd already taken mine) and was then left to chase down those pesky lightweight cars that only need a squirt of fuel.

Nearly planted it in the wall at T1 when Don came out of the pits (loverly looking car!) - and then the chase was on!  We had a cracking race between us until (I think) something lag-like affected Don letting me by.

I was making time up on Dave Gymer, but with the leaders coming through, and a few rookie errors on my part, the gap never closed to under 3 seconds.  Followed Dave home as the 3rd NGT car, 10th overall I think.

Great evening, but a few problems (1fps, CTD in qually) soured the experience a little.

Well, managed to qualify in 9th in the Lister, and had a pretty quiet race - not really on par with the Lambos that were leading this race, and by quite some time.
Pit stop went ok, i think Loc had some difficulties tho   laugh
I think i drove a pretty consistent race, all was going well, in 8th position, 10 minutes to go, and had just lapped the Rizla sponsored M3 (sorry to whoever that was by the way) on T3.
Just got past, shifted to 3rd and....nothing. No power - just slowing down. M3 and another car went past...engine blown!
I think raising the rev limit on the Lister a longer event is not good! laugh

anyway, thanks to all that raced - back to the drawing board for the next round  Kiss

That'd be me - did wonder what the heck you were doing on the exit .... and then I saw the smoke!!!  Just as well I'd eased off or I'd have been in the back of you!

No worries, as soon as I saw the smoke I knew you're engine had died, just really wasn't expecting it.  Not a problem though, wasn't really racing anyone at that point.

Difficult race for me, got myself a silly upgrade, a Matrox TripleHead2Go so was running 3 off 19" TFT's in mega widescreen, 3840x1024, but the game just CTD on me as soon as the track loaded. Worked ok offline and was ok on the server yesterday afternoon. Took too long for me to try just a single screen but that got me in with about 8 mins of qual left. Then the silly game had changed my tyres automagically for me to soft wets! Good job I spotted that one!

Nothing really to report about the race. As I expected my pace was very much back of the pack so it was a pretty lonely afair except for the odd recovering car and somehow jumping Mr Ball and Mr Chunk in the pitstops  Undecided Great pace everyone.

i think the results might be wrong.i got the well done race finished  come back to pits and it said i finished 5 on the screen.
qualified 7 and had edam all over me for the first 5 laps then he got past and drove away.gomez was behind me all race i had him upto about 6 seconds before the pits and came out of the pits 2 second infront of him, phew.the pits where a bit tight had a car in the box before me and really didnt wanna hit him so had a very cautious entry.had a constant race and only had 1 big moment going into turn1 on the 5 to last lap  Shocked which let gomez get back to 2 second but held on for the finish.(no retierment)
well raced all the ngt cars who got out the way and let me pass easy. thumbup1
congrates to the winners  I Am Not Worthy you just to quick
thanks to the host's  rockon
love it

My limiter was raised as well. Didn't get a chance to finish the race, but I think I might just lower it again  Wink

Did your engine temp get to high ? Even with the raised limiter I have no problems keeping the temp down, but now I'm kinda scared it's a weakness of the Lister to blow the engine with a raised limiter   Huh

Funny old race that, didn't qualify well but had a cunning plan involving a fuel tank and four pieces of rubber. Got away safely enough at the start and then settled into a rather dull rhythm as Adam very gradually eeked out the gap. Stopped after 35 minutes and my crew did a great job with a very quick stop - came out well down but hopeful I could make up a lot of places later as people pitted and sure enough as the laps went by I was slowly moving up the order each time by the pits. After the stops Don and Adam held each  other up for a while and I was able to hold the gap fairly steady but towards the end Adam got away and was starting to close me down. The gap was hard to judge with cars coming past regularly to lap us and the last five minutes were hard work with my tyres and my concentration starting to waver but I was pretty sure I was in a podium place in class and after crossing the line with too much fuel to spare was a bit surprised to be second in NGT, only a quater of a lap behind Luke, pretty good considering he outqualified me by 2 seconds.

The championship's going to get tougher for me now for sure and Spa is going to be a real problem for the Zed with its modest power.

Engine temp wasn't too high at all, but i think i pushed too hard, and think i was gearing down to quickly - revs were quite high at the time. Maybe a conbination of endurance/engine working too hard/me not being able to dirve the Lister like it should be driven... Roll Eyes

I've heard that the Lister engine isn't fantastic over long events aswell - maybe needs a little more care in longer races?
