Moderator's Report

There was a problem during the final lap which caused the server to lose track of Merlinthepike and Gomes Silva whilst they took the chequered flag. The results have been adjusted to show Merlin 5th, Gomes 6th, and Locutos 7th.

Server replay time: 458s

Ossie is following Cej very closely up the hill towards 12. Cej begins braking and moving towards the apex but Ossie brakes too late and runs into the back of him, putting Cej into the barriers and destroying his engine.

Whilst this is primarily Ossie's fault, especially as it was on the first lap, drivers must be aware that if they position themselves in the middle of the track at the beginning of a braking zone, they greatly increase the chances of the driver behind running into them if they make a mistake or simply underestimate how early the driver in front will brake.

  • cej (ce)advice — try to avoid starting to brake in the middle of the track
  • ossie (Ossie)penalty — rear ending Cej on lap 1 (reduced slightly) — 2 places lost

Server replay time: 485s

Chunky brakes far too late for turn 1 and bodyslams JonBall, putting them both into the gravel.

  • Chunkypenalty — contact with JonBall — 2 places lost

Server replay time: 3462s

This starts with the leader lapping Dangerman as he comes out of the final turn, allowing Reign Man's TVR to close on and then get alongside the former's Porsche.

Dangerman moves right but is then squeezed back to the left by Reign Man, who makes contact with him in the process. This contact is uncesessary.

Reign Man then brakes slighty later for turn 1 and is half a car length ahead as they turn in. RM doesn't quite stay tight to the curb and Dangerman makes light contact as he turns in, but I regard that as a racing incident.

However, Dangerman then tries to take the line again despite the fact that the TVR is half a car length further ahead and within a car's width of the inside curb, and bounces off him into the gravel.

Dangerman was of the opinion that he was entitled to the corner because he turned in earler. Wrong, I'm afraid. The TVR was further ahead and had the inside line. To try it once could be regarded as a racing incident; to do it again (and take yourself off in the process) is foolishness. The replay doesn't leave much room for doubt.

I had just finished a full 1 hour race when I joined you guys late in the qualifying. With 9 minutes left, I was extremely fortunate to set the pole. But I wasn't sure if I could keep concentration up for the whole race, so I was prepared to let faster drivers pass. Loc put quite a bit pressure on me in the beginning of the race, but at the end of each lap I was able to pull away a little bit after we passed that 3rd gear uphill left/right hander. But when Loc spun off, trouble began, because Pablo closed the gap really fast  Wink After a short fight it was obvious that he was about half a second faster than me, so instead of risking a crash I allowed him to pass, which he would have done anyway. From then on, the race settled and I'm glad that I came out of it without making a major mistake.

Thanks for a great race and clean driving. Grats Pablo!

Was having a great fight with mojo and felt I was quicker. Decided to stop 2 laps earlier than normal and see if I could "pass him in the pits". Hit the pit request button, yeah come in next lap, did that and theres Will sat in the pit slot getting his stuff done. Oh s**t! Will went and I tried to get in the box, nothing! Aaaahhh, only option was to drive around again. Went from a comfy 3rd to 7th and really pi**ed off. Then on last lap Jamera (who had been watching me from TV cam) says my car froze just around the last S before the uphill drive, from my side all cars disapeared, crossed the line and was given 5th as result. Pretty sure I was in 7th.

Funny old game! Got the 1fps bug during the last mins of quali and had to quickly rejoin before the session moved on!
Started at the back and decided to take a nearly full tank of fuel and risk trying to make up time in the pits.
Had a battle with Picnic early on, once I got round him he seemed to drop away, maybe he got caught by a lapping GT?
Followed Dangerman for the next 30 mins until it was time to pit. A good 23 sec pit stop put me back out close to the leading group of NGT's. I then had a bit of a scrap with Adam for 3rd place which unfortunately let Gizmo pull away a bit.

Tyres were going off big time towards the end, and held on for 4th.  1.3 litres left in the tank at the end!

Grats to the winners and podiums.

Terrible race for me never raced the track before and in qually didn't seem to get anywhere near the other gt qually times.  My set up was totally wrong and was trying to alter things throughout qually and resulted in last qually spot for the gt's.

It gets even worse when it came to the race.  I was closely following CE throughout the first lap and we came to the latter stage of the lap on a left hander and CE broke in front of me, my reactions were too slow and ended up rear ending him straight off the track.  I AM VERY SORRY for ruining your race. After this  I saw Will in front of me and he kept pulling away, passed pits on second lap and saw CE in there and felt dreadful for ruining his race and thought well I had a terrible set up and didn't really know the track and the thought of ruining another race made me reach for the escape button. Very sorry guys will get some hard practise in for the next race I can make. hang

Well, for me that was a fantastic race, although lonely at times. I had a good dice with Merlin on the first couple of laps, but there were a few places I was a bit quicker than him, and I sense he 'gave' the place to me after a while - thanks Merlin Smiley After that I was in 4th or 5th for ages, then got down to 3rd.

At this point, Enzo started to apply some real pressure, and there was a bit of a scary moment, when I was lapping some of the NGT cars at the uphill section before the finish. I think it was Picnic's little train, with Jon Ball and Chunky. Anyway, quite rightly those guys were embroiled in their own battle, and I had to carefully pick my spot to get past. At this point, I had Enzo's Lambo right up my exhausts, and had to really put in some quick times to stay in front! Fortunately managed to stay in 3rd place for the remainder of the race - as I understand it, at the expense of Locutos - bad luck for that pitstop dude Sad Mojo and Pablo were way out in front - too fast for my little Saleen on the day.

Thanks to the NGTs for being very fair during lapping Smiley thumbup2 thumbup1

hi all, a good race

i think that the finals results are bad to because i finished in the same lap of winner 38 laps, but in the result i have +1lap 37, when the player that finished 7 is in the 5th at the results.

can we have the Unofficial Lapchart ? so can we see that.

I finish 6th but in the same lap of the winners. something is wrong .

Thanks all for the great fun.

Unofficial Lapchart

These lapcharts are created directly from the server results, so if they are messed up, so will the chart, sorry for that, nothing I can do.

The export shows you only completing 37 laps - DNFing on the last lap.

now i see that the results are not correct, i made 38 laps , merlinthepike de 38 laps, merlinthepike finish in 5th and me and 6th, i now that Locutos is behind me and is in 5th, i´m at work , so i cant see the replay, but later i see the replay and post were Smiley

Funny old race for me.

Was quite happy with my qualification, squeezing into 2nd (NGT class) behind Luke.
Being heavy on fuel and with cold mediums I was struggling to keep the guys behind me at bay.
Heavy contact with Chunky on the 2nd lap sent us both spinning off.

From there on I enjoyed trying to catch up and had a nice little battle with Mr Picnic.

Must have had a pretty slow pitstop because he was back in front after we'd done both of ours.

Then everyone disappeared and I realised I'd been dumped by my ISP.

18hrs later and I've only just managed to reconnect.

Oh well, it was fun whilst it lasted

VIDEO

Here is a 7,5 minute video from the race. Both Masters and Academy are in it. This way you get to have a peak at what happened in the other server Grin

It's 60mb.

P.S The video keeps running for black after the footage for 10s, I forgot to remove that Undecided. You can just close it, there won't be any bloopers at the end Wink

I've looked at the replay and clearly Merlin and Gomes were dropped as they finished their 38th and final lap. I'll look into how to best correct the results tomorrow.
