 yes yes yes

Fulvio is a lord, in distress on the last lap, Doni who surely did not see us by spinning just in front of me, I do not touch him but touch the edge of the track and stand across, Fulvio just next door do not take advantage and let me pass.

Thank you GENTLEMAN big respect.

 yes yes yes

Excellent start, I think Tristan has a problem but finally knowing it faster comes back to me at the end of the first lap but disappears from the server.
Behind Mark goes very quickly and take the first place, with the weight of gasoline I have the impression of not moving forward.
After his mistake, it was Fulvio who was on my toes for the rest of the race.
It is also faster but it is hard to overtake here without risk.
You know the end, thank you again Mr FULVIO

Thanks admin, sry Tristan, grats Mark and all

Great Race, lots of mistakes and sometimes real hot LF tire from hard braking.

Shame the freezes at this track are less but not gone, sorry guys.

I think that is a pretty average length word  Cheesy

Impressive lap time David! I had to try very hard to stay calm in this race, it was very easy to get too ambitious and touch the grass which was very precarious. Philippe was putting me under lots of pressure!

Sorry about the screen freeze Pete. There was a =http://srmz.net/index.php?showtopic=13395&st=80#entry152509 released to reduce the drawing distance on this track which seems to have helped.

Not sure about Cadwell. What is your framerate like Pete? A solid 60 FPS should reduce the chance of a screen freeze. Turning down the detail in the GPL graphics options usually helps.

Impressive lap time David!

I made a lot of mistakes during this race.
The Lola was quick but I never could setup this car.

Congrats to Alain and Pol, they drove very well. I had a screen freeze too, a few minutes before the end of qually. Tough race, sorry to clip Axel when he was on the grass. I got to the lead but then made a couple of silly concentration errors and fell to third.

I would agree entirely, Alain.  My read is that Fulvio backed right off to let you maintain the lead not wanting to capitalize on my idiocy.  What a sportsman!  Not that I'm surprised at this, frankly.  I've crossed swords with Fulvio any number of times and he's super dependable and always the gentleman.  Top marks to Fulvio!

My idiocy?  Oh, to be sure.  I saw that I was in danger of being lapped but knew that the leader was on his last lap.  If I could just get to the S/F line ahead of whomever that was, I'd get the full distance and who knows, might have gained a place.  Trouble was my Lola was rather second-hand at that point with some offs into barriers and with 8-10 laps to go, the vision started to fade.  It starts slowly but focus...literally as well as figuratively...is lost progressively.  That I bungled the turn in for the corner before St. Mary's is beyond dispute.  As the Lola started to rotate out of control, I thought, 'Oh no!  What have I done?'  Recovering from my spin, I did managed to get that extra lap, parked it, made straight for the paddock to take the helicopter out before someone had my scalp.  And rightly so.  So very greatly relieved to see that Alain maintained the lead and scored the victory.

Along the way, I had some interesting moments.  Got shunted on the grid when David was caught napping, Pete, directly behind had to stand on the brakes, I didn't react fast enough to avoid and hit Pete.  My Lola skipped sideways right there on the grid and I had to reverse for a bit to get straightened 'round.  Swell start to the day.  Evil was giving me a very hard time and seemed especially faster through Fordwater but couldn't quite pull off the pass.  Then he disappeared altogether.  Axel had me off around mid-distance and Lola was never the same after that.  Later, hooked up with Dave and Ricky to have some really great racing.  That was fun!

All in all, not a race effort to be proud of.

" Two resets will be allowed (there is no need to carry out a Stop and Go in the pit lane if you make a Shift-R)."

DOH!!!  must read the race post AND remember what it says!!!

I got involved in two or three incidents of others making early in the race after a good start, which dropped me back behind Doni. He proved very reluctant to make a mistake and allow me to pass  Huh.
When I vanished from Doni's mirrors it was because I had dropped an outside rear wheel onto the grass exiting Madgewick. That threw the rear end around and sent me across the track onto the infield, which was at first annoying as I was going to lose places, but then it really pi**ed me off when I hit the invisible wall and two wheels fell off. I quit in self disgust, just before I remembered about the 2 S/Rs  Undecided

Thx Alain and Doni for your words  Smiley
I don't like gain a place when the car ahead has been slowed down by a problem with a lapped car. It's like pass with yellow flag.
Anyway the end was a sort of pantomine, Alain came out of the last chicane accelerating slowly and when I understand that he would have let me by under the checquered flag I braked too  Grin
About the race, I would never have hoped to mark 5th in Q. I had tested the car the day before and it seemed terrible with heavy reaction on the steering on braking. Then in Q I learned how gentle we need to be with this car to not be punished by it.
The race was a big effort for my arms cause the heavy FF that these cars have. Focused to drive gently and to not overdrive the right hander before St.Mary and only once had a wide at last double right and once I touched the wall on chicane, but luckily didn't loose much time and managed to keep in view the leaders.

Hi, Axel!  Smiley

The Stardust thread isn't up as yet but just this morning, I did a shake-down trial in the Lola.  Using the procedure that I've previously described, from a four USG fuel load start, I got 7.6 laps before fuel starvation started to cut in at 15psi.  Hope this helps in setting the fuel requirements for Stardust.

Thanks Doni,

as someone who grew up with the decimal calculation system, I have no idea how to convert this now for the fuel consumption of 30 laps

~ somehow 3,95 x your start fuel - minus the reserve?

Hehehe...  Piece of cake, Axel!  Smiley

30 laps / 7.6 laps x 4.0 USG = 15.789 fuel load for 30 laps.

In reality, I'd load up 16 or 17 USG for a 30 lap go.

To have 10 USG left in the tanks after the start, I'd nominate a start load of 27 USG minimum.

16 USG = 61 litres.

17 USG = 65 litres.
