For the 3rd round we are going to Interlagos (Brazil)..
Autódromo José Carlos Pace, also known as Interlagos, is in the city of São Paulo, in the neighborhood of Interlagos. It is named after Brazilian Formula One driver Carlos Pace, who died in a plane crash in 1977. It has hosted the Formula One Brazilian Grand Prix since 1973.  The race won by defending Formula One World Champion and São Paulo local Emerson Fittipaldi. Fittipaldi won the race again the following year in bad weather and Brazilian driver José Carlos Pace won his only race at Interlagos in 1975.

Had no time to practice and hadn't done so earlier in the week, learned the circuit by doing 2 laps earlier during the day and in qualifying, and then mostly stayed out of trouble except for the occasion when the recovering Greg spun and I had nowhere to go, so I slowed down as much as I could, but still it put him on his roof. Sorry about that, Greg... Sad
With 4 to go I spun and lost a wheel, then I crawled around the circuit off track with safe distance to all other drivers in hope of fulfilling the 75% distance and running premise at the checkered flag (I assumed the rule is that you are allowed to complete the lap on which your car took severe damage), but since GPL listed my name in red, I suspect I miscalculated the position of the start-finish line and actually crossed the line before Jonny. Maybe there was something illegal about this action; if this is the case, tell me, award me penalty points and then I won't repeat it in the future.
Bad day for GPL.
Very well done, Jonny, Killer and Alex and also the rest of finishers! Smiley

I had a ferrari ready for Interlagos, I won here 2 years ago with it Smiley, I believe that Ferrari is the best chassis for interlagos, all 4 best are from Maranello, Enzo was satisfied and the public too! Wink
In the opposite straight there is a small jump before the braking, at this point I stop accelerating and go back to have no peaks of rotation, I never went over 10,000, whoever is here in South America needs more care with the rpm, because of the worst ping. I think Raoni had this problem with his Lotus crystal engine.
Interlagos is a track that I have an obligation to perform well, but because I was a drever test of the track when Pablo Fernandes was building, I think I did a lot of laps on it!

Congratulations to the Ferrari boys ..... we did a great job !!!

Good morning all  Smiley

Congratulations Jonny, Killer and Alex clap, I didn't know the FERRARI was such a good car here but mostly I think it's the people behind the wheel that it was more of  Wink

Not a lot of training but I couldn't have done better anyway, this track has many pitfalls.
5 to 10 laps from the end, I slipped 2 brakes and lost 2 places in 1 lap, luckily I managed to pick up one after a good baguare with Syd at the end of the race.
Well done everyone and see you soon.

Thanks to the organizers  Smiley

This circuit is really enjoyable overall, although the bumps and the tight first gear corners are less fun. I didn't have time to do much practice but found I could go 1.3s faster in the Cooper vs Brabham, so easy choice of car.

I had a great race with Carlos - I seemed to be geared better in the fast bits whereas he was a lot faster than me in the twisties and lap after lap he'd close up on me only for me to move far enough to away to make overtaking impossible. If only I had held on a couple more laps, but a silly mistake at a first gear corner let him by. I tried to catch him back, but overdriving caused a spin and he was gone. Great fun.

Apart from that I had a fairly solid drive, with only one scare as Doni rejoined from an off right in front of me entering T2, around Lap 6/7 - easily enough avoided, but maybe something to watch out for. That said, if I had done the same thing late in the race I would not be able to read what Prib was telling me on distances to other drivers, to be able to judge my rejoin, but I thought you had those super-duper eye drop (which we're not allowed to have in the UK) to help you  Grin Grin  I have found one solution that seems to help though - 2 large G&Ts just before the race - and that's me being serious!!

Don't drink and drive!
