That's the end of rFactor for me. If we can't even muster more than 5 people there is no point. The AI is so bad in rFactor it's no good as single player and without any multiplayer support there really is no point. It's been 2 years since rFactor was releeased and there are less people playing it now than there was when we started.

I would recommended sticking to what people want to race, so let's put more GTR2 races on a Sunday, maybe a super endurance, but i think people would rather there were more sprints of single make varieties. Maybe night GTR 2 sprint races every other week would be fun in a single make championship where we all race the same cars but it's a different car every week.

Such a shame that between Picnic being unable to join and hardly anyone else turning up we had to abandon this.

I'd like to put some GTL Endurance events on so that those who can't make many Thursday night's can enjoy some classic racing, and if the Super Endurance thing works out over the holidays I'd definitely like to see more of that.

If only NetKar Pro was ready for real use... Tongue

The other possibility is the V8SC mod for GTR2. Perhaps we can do a test race during the holidays with that too.

I quite like the idea of a "something completely different" style of event. Something less serious than the GTR league and to add a bit of fun to proceedings. Running more GTR2 events doesn't do this for me. Trouble is tonight I couldn't see the server, or loads of other ones when Gizmo and myself compared lists. WTF is that all about? Worse still I couldn't even connect via the direct IP address.

Well I have just completed my first race here
http://www.f1rst3.com/v8/

In the V8 series, at least they have some good numbers - 19 raced tonight, and it was good clean racing far as I could see as well.

Worth checking out for those who are desperate to get some money back on their rFactor investment!

The problems with the V8Factor mod, Nick, are that
  • it uses rFactor, and will therefore get a naff turnout here; and
  • it's not as much fun as the GTR2 MMM V8s.
Not necessarily in that order...

Appreciate the first point, have not tried the GTR2 version, but my point was if people wanted a fuller grid experience for rFactor then that was a place to look.

Now if (even a GTR2) V8 series were to start sure plenty would be up for that, using all the Aussie tracks of course! As long as the dodgy net code can deal with it Grin Grin

I think you're kidding yourself if you think you can get a decent number to turn up for GTL Endurance or GTR2 Super Endurance. I would like to see a poll on it before wasting the best slot of the week on events people don't turn up to.

You really are Mr Grumpy at the moment. Tongue

We're doing a Super Endurance test over the holidays and that will give us some idea of how many might actually turn up. You know as well as anyone that non-championship events never have as good a turnout as championship ones. We've done GTL Endurance in the past with a good turnout so an actual championship will probably work too.

All polls measure are how many people respond to polls.

You're mad!

13 people is not good turnout for an endurance event, especially when you consider the numbers in GTL then were much higher than they are now. I'd be suprised if another GTL Endurance event surpassed 10 people.

Polls give you an indication of the level of support, they are worth doing. Just cause they are not totally accurate doesn't make them a waste of time. Doing polls that no one sees in some obscure thread for 1 day is a waste of time.

Found a netutl plugin update for rFactor but this failed to show more servers in my list, I then changed the entry for Concurrent Server Updates in the multiplayer.ini to "500"

My old value was 200. The comment is misleading as it says defaults to 40 which should be good for everyone, broadband users could up this to 20-30 for faster server lists if desired
