Championship standings HERE

Grid/server capacity: 22

Track: Imola

Cars allowed: Chevrolet Corvette (GTC-65)

CUP STAGE C, Round 7

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (22 laps)

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit stops required: NO

Server: simracing.org.uk Monday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None.

This may be old news, but did you know that the Vette GT C-#854 is not a '65. It is a "63. The only year the Vette offered a three-window coupe, i.e. split-window back was '63. The louvers on the sides are different from every other car there and so with the grill. It is a '63 and not a '65. Just so happens that the '63 Vette is a car I have always dreamed of having. I think it's one of the most beautiful cars ever made. A 327 tri-power would be Ok with me.

Our server appears to have had a malfunction and Lasse is unable to run tonight's race for us.

It looks likely that tonight's race will be unable to go ahead.

I'm golfing this pm but will check again when I return and post here to update you all.

Sorry to hear that the server is unwell. Am I right in thinking that we pay for a commercial server in a data centre somewhere??

Have any of you guys considered running your own UKGTL server(s)??  like we do over at UKGPL where we have 4-5 privately run FREE servers available at any time.  I am not a technician so probably not the person to propose such a move, but I am sure that there are a a few redundant desktop PC's around the members and from what ( little) I understand about these things there is no requirement for massive graphics capability as all the server does is receive packets of info( detailing positions etc) from each client PC, then dispatch the positions of all other cars back to each client. It is your own PC that generates the on screen action.
Years back private internet connections just did not have the bandwidth available to carry the data, but now with 200MB+ readily available things are easier. Certainly over at UKGPL we have had very few probs and on the rare occasions that we do get a server hiccup, there is always another server instantly available.

I am actually a little relieved that there might be a postponement of this race, although I fully realise that others might feel differently  Roll Eyes

I am still struggling with the input delay from my new T300 wheel in GTL, which is why I have been quitting early from recent races. I find trying to predict when the car might slide and that I will need some adjustment to the steering an impossible ask. If I wait until the car slides and then try and correct I am too late and too heavy, if I anticipate and apply opp lock too soon things get ugly very quickly!!. Before this problem I would never have thought 2-3tenths of a second could make so much difference!!

The problem only manifests in GTL. As you know I also race in GPL and the steering is perfect in that sim with zero delay between T300 movement and the on screen car turning it's front wheels. I am still experimenting with Rotation degrees/FF/damper settings etc but that is simply a question of "feel".

So, I have been trawling through various GTL on line forums looking for questions and answers to this dilemma and it would appear that I am not alone. Some simracers have experienced a delay between the steering input and the actual graphics catching up, it appears that the physics are working OK and the monitor display is simply a few tenths behind. I would have thought that was equally a problem!?, but that is most definitely NOT my problem.

Others have described exactly what I experience and have posted videos showing their wheel and the "in car" view on their monitor. The wheel on the rig turns and maybe 2-3 tenths later the on screen steering wheel moves and the car turns. From what I have deduced, when my on screen steering wheel ( eventually) moves the front wheels of the car instantly turn with it. It is ONLY the delay between my rig and the game that is a problem.

I have to assume that as GPL works 100% correctly, the issue is somewhere within the GTL config. I have just found a forum with a complete player.plr file with just about every wheel parameter maximised for GTL. So this p.m. I hope to save my existing .plr and replace it with this optimised version.

If this does not work then I am running out of ideas, so if anyone has any solutions please throw them in.

Bugger, thought this was going to fall my way in a convoluted fashion....

Won't be online tonight, it is my daughters 15th birthday today, so I need to take the family out for a meal, which is much more important than silly sim racing I've been told.....

Have fun chaps.

Cool. It is only my domestic fibre, but it's been used before and has worked ok
Not sure about race replay, if it saves one I will stick on an AWS bucket, likewise results files.
I am not there at the moment, so nothing else will be using the connection.

Ok, willdo. I have rebooted the router to try to get the best performance.
I have restarted the server, but it was complaining about name already exists
it has started. But shout if it isn't working, and I will kill it  for a while.

Which server are you trying to get onto Robbie?

There is the m2 up but there is no ping associated.
