Moderator's Report

Robby tries an overtake on the inside of MichaW at Turn 1 (Waterway).
Unfortunately Robby doesn't hold his line and impacts the side of MichaW causing the latter to hit a wall and causes catastrophic damage to his vehicle. Robby apparently does not apologise and continues, perhaps unaware of the damage caused to MichaW.
Robby should know that he should either wait for MichaW to recover and retake his place or allow him by within 3 laps of the incident or take a pit lane drive thru again within 3 laps of the incident.
MichaW has stated that no penalty should be given so this is for advice only.

Couple of good races at Aintree, a track that I find quite tricky, the corners always seem sharper than the last time you went around them.

The early laps of both races were quite fun. Chased Matt for a couple of laps & it was looking to be very difficult to find a way past without a mistake from Matt. Fortunately for me (and unfortunately for Matt) he braked a bit too late for Country Corner & span off, allowing me a comfortable run to the finish. Second race in the Mini again had some early laps action, mainly with Erling's Cortina. We spent most of the second lap swapping places but an error from Erling at Melling Crossing gifted me the place & I was gradually able to extend my advantage over the remaining laps & win the 1300 class.

Congrats to Matt on his win & to all the class winners.  clap clap clap

Commiserations to DD & Hristo on their mysterious DQs.  Huh

Not sure what to make of this series. The scoring system where overall position doesn't count, IMHO makes much of the racing or potential racing moot - why fight tooth and nails for a position with a driver of another class, if it doesn't directly impact your options regarding others in your own class?

Wanted to use some of the cars I hadn't driven yet, so settled for Cortina & Anglia.  Got a decent start in race 1, but then found my way blocked by a non-moving Falcon, giving my class competitors Clive & Mike the opportunity to slip past.  A few corners later, I could repay the gesture, as they were both braked by a slightly wayward Jag, while I sailed past.

Then came the red flag. Grid positions after the requalify were much like before. Once again I got a good start, but then got completely thwarted and boxed in by cars going all over the place, and once again Mike & Clive were past.  Manfred got past me in his Jag, but didn't pull enough of a lead on the straights to not be in the way through corners. Thus had to watch in frustration as Clive & Mike got further away.  Eventually though, Manfred buggered off, Mike went off & Clive got taken out by a wayward Falcon, allowing me to overtake both.  Coiuldn't do anything about Andy's Mini though; he remained an elusive red spec up ahead, no matter how hard I tried to catch him.

First two laps of race two were interesting; I was dicing with Daz & Geoffers. Exploited the slow start of the Mini to get ahead of Geoffers, and drew level and even ahead of Daz on L1.  All rather pointless though - even though we were in the same class, I had no hope of competing with Daz, and he was soon through and disappeared.  Geoffers was in another class, so no point in fighting him either, so when I went off on L2, I stayed off deliberatedly until he had moved past.  Rest of the race a pretty lonely affair.

Grats to class & overall winners. Commiserations to the unfortunate ones, not least the mismatch victims.

Race 1
I messed up qually but got a good start and missed all the mayhem.
I thought I was flying until everything went weird and the race was Red Flagged.

Race 1 (part 2)
I messed up qually but my start was OK I think I missed the early accidents but had a few competitive bumps then got caught up in  spins by other drivers and also had the odd off. The car was pulling to one side but was drivable but nearing the end off the race a car span on the track in front off me. I took to the grass to avoid him but unfortunately so did he and I managed to harpoon him. After that my car was barely drivable so I hoped for better luck in Race 2.

Race 2
I messed up qually ( got that off to a fine art). I had a terribly slow start. I unwisely got myself into a bad position at turn 3 and with a car on my inside and me wanting to turn sharp left had to choose between a collision or going off track. I chose the latter and bumped into a hedge that was obviously made out of bricks. My car not only didn't want to go straight but felt like it was determined turn completely round and go in the opposite direction which was no fun at all so rather than limp back to the pits and have my suspension rebuilt I decided to retire. I'm obviously no good at keeping Mini's in on piece, perhaps someone could add a Hummer to the car set and I can drive that.

Grats  winners and podiums.  clap clap clap
