2021 NoGrip Legacy Historic TC Championship.

Description:
Online racing series of 29 Races (23 Events) consisting short twin races, normal races, Hill Climbs and Endurance races. Race calendar is fictional Historic Racing Championship with events all around the world. Car selection consists cars that raced in 1970’ish with some non-existing ones replaced with close match. All cars (except Division 3, over 2000cc class) have physics calibrated to run against each other. The Classification system has four divisions and each having 2 classes.

Changes after last year:
Since last year, there’s no new classes, but all cars in Division one and two have gotten total overhaul of physics. And of course, some new makes have arrived to battle from points. Smiley

Big thanks to CY-33 of Team21 allowing us to use modified version of their NSU TT: NSU TTS (in under 1000cc class) and NSU 1200 TT will be very competent cars against others in these two (already quite occupied) classes. Another new comer is Simca. Guys from Poissy factory were disapointed that their upcoming Rallye was not homologated early enough to join in under 1300cc class, but that did not prevent them tuning Sim’4 (under 850cc) and 1000 (under 1000cc) models for this series. British Leyland decided to pull the plug from 970 S as it needed new homologation and that costs money. So, they gave private teams (mostly crazy finns. Wink ) Mini 1000 to tune it up. Another small thing happened when Suzuki was not allowed to run their engine-replaced TC76 LC10W, so they took all their engineers to everything that it takes to make Group 2 Fronte Coupe class winning car. In tyre front, organizers decided to return single compound system as it is believed that it will keep the racing more intense.

After giving long thought, organizing decided to make rule that drivers are allowed to drive maximum of 5 times in same engine class. For example, if you race first 5 Division 1 races in 850-1000cc, you need to race last 3 events in 700-850cc class.
There will be online score board showing each racers drive count in each engine class.

Special races:
All races have just 2 classes running at the same time and both classes score their own points, but there's one very special events in which there is two divisions running, but in that case points are given per Division, not per class. These are tagged in calendar with SPECIAL keyword. As these events are exceptionally hard, they will also score more points than others. In these, The scoring will be announced later.

Car Rules:
  • No limit on how many times you can use each car.
  • NEW: maximum of 5 races per engine class.
  • Every start in new class scores 3 extra points, so 24 points available by just driving cars in every class!

Points system:
  • Starting in class that driver has not yet started: 3 points. (as stated above.)
  • Starting in class that driver has already started five or more times: -7 points.
  • Fastest guy in DIVISION: 1 point.
  • Points per CLASS by position:
    • 1st:   10 points
    • 2nd:   8 points
    • 3rd:   6 points
    • 4th:   5 points
    • 5th:   4 points
    • 6th:   3 points
    • 7th:   2 points
    • 8th:   1 point
  • Note that position points are given by CLASS position. So at least 2 drivers will score 10 points as there's 2 classes per Division.

Five different champions:
  • Division ½ champion
  • Division 1 champion
  • Division 2 champion
  • Division 3 champion
  • Overall Champion

Special Notes:
  • Each race invitation will have notes about allowed classes and also how it is going to be scored. There is only one SPECIAL tagged events, in which case points will be upgraded as the events are exceptionally hard.
  • The time based races are really time based as I found way to organize real time based races. This means that when the race starts, clock starts counting down and when the time is up, race will be checkered flagged. Smiley (Thanks Geoffers helping to find this loophole in GT Legends. Smiley )
  • As some drivers stated in 2020 Nurburgring 500kms being “not that bad”, The Nurburgring this year will be 1/20th part of 1970 Marathon De La Route, which took 86 hours. Meaning our race will be 4 hours and 18 minutes. And as the real Marathon De La Route was run on 28km long Gesamtstrecke layout, so we do as well. Preparation highly recommended. Also use of second driver is allowed, but only one of the drivers will score points. Smiley
  • Tony will organize test races in 29th of March. Very big thanks Tony, it leaves me a lot more time to finalize the car pack. Smiley

  • OFFICIAL CAR PACK (Version 1.0):*CLICK*
  • CAR PACK PATCH(to version 1.2):*CLICK*

EDIT: Ooops, There's four, not five divisions like I claimed in description. Thanks Tony noticing. Smiley
EDIT2: Beta Car pack released!
EDIT3: Car Pack version 1.0 now released! Smiley
EDIT4: Car Pack got updated to version 1.1! Download the patch.
EDIT5: Daytona race length changed from 300 to 250 miles.
EDIT6: Car Pack got updated to version 1.2! Download the patch. patch includes also 1.1 changes so 1.0 needs just one update to the version to 1.2.
EDIT7: Isle of Man Event changed from 2 hours to 200 miles. Expected race lenght stays same, but there's no need of making 2 hours track variation.
EDIT8: As now first racer has go over 5 races per engine class limit, new additional penalty point rule has been introduced: Every time when racer runs in engine class where he has already 5 or more starts, 4 points will be deducted from his score board.
EDIT9: Changed over 5 starts per engine class penalty from -4 to -7 points. Rule activates from Göstling-Hochkar Hillclimb.

Count me in Lasse. Can't wait for the new season. And that 4.3 H race - it will be a test of will.  Afro

Taking a deep bow for Lasse.

This championship is such a solid piece of work that I think it should be a standard on every years calendar !

The Marathon de la Route is ,as was it's original, completely insane ! Really looking forward to it. Will it be okay to invite a Co- driver?

Cheers Dan

I am surprised no one mentioned 2 hours of Isle of Man. Smiley It's amazing that I'll have to learn it finally.

Thanks guys... a bit over 100 hours was put in to physics rewamp, so don't expect the cars being same or be able to use old setups. Smiley

Will it be okay to invite a Co- driver?

Cheers Dan
Yep, As stated in special notes, second driver is allowed. Just remember that GTL does not support several online drivers per one car, so your co-driver needs to be physically in same place as you.

To be honest, I did some "tests" in our team (Hans Laine Memorial Racing Team) whatsapp channel and reduced the race lenght to 1/20th part of the original. I would have liked to have 1/15th race length, but that raised a bit too many eyebrows. Cheesy Cheesy

Maybe next year. Smiley It has been my long time dream (around a decade) to organize something like 8-12 hours race, with 2-3 drivers per car, but interest has been lacking. So, by extending race every year a bit, I will eventually reach my dream.  angel

Yep, not to mention 300 miles of Daytona road course. I wouldn't expect that being walk in the park either.

Is it possible for the 1.0 release the volume of the all car engine to be at the same rate?

If someone has time and resources to investigate sounds, I would be happy as I do not have time for it. And yes, that means not only fine tuning your favorites, but going thru ALL sounds and making them equal. I have not touched them at all (in any of these 3 seasons) and they are as the original sound authors have them done.

If you do some sound work, please submit it to me for adding to official car pack so that everyone has even playfield here. And as people most likely would like to get the car pack early instead of late, My deadline for release 1.0 version is Wednesday 7th of April.

Following stuff I still need to do:
- one car needs correction in fuel consumption
- 3 cars needs to be checked that fuel consumption is like I planned.
- 14 cars needs fuel estimation calibration.
- 4 cars have only one skin. 2 to 4 per car would be optimum.
And these are nice to haves:
- 2 cars would gain having additional skin. (now has "just" 2 skins.)
- One car needs desperately lap timer in dash.
- One Car would gain from having rev limit light.
- 8 cars have skins that do not have correct menu videos.  (total of  at least 15 videos to be made)

So, there's still quite lot to do before 7th of April. Smiley

EDIT: Fixed some sentences being in totally different location than what would be anywhere near something called "logical language". Cheesy

Uploading car pack version 1.0 as promised. Smiley There's still some graphical mismatches which SpecialKS found in betatesting, but nothing really serious.
Did quite lot of stuff and fixes, but here's the most important stuff:
- SpecialKS digged up his archieves and found 4 new additional skins. Thanks mate. Smiley
- Added revlimit light to Capri 2300GT and Hillman Imp.
- Added laptimers to Bellett, Imp and both Simcas.
- Fixed GTA Jnr fuel tank size to 70 liters.
- Fixed fuel consumptions to several cars.
- Fixed almost all cars' fuel estimation so that it is now exact with default setup. (Means, AI can pit correctly as well. Smiley )
- Did few own fast skins so that all cars have at least 2-3 skins.
- Added missing icons and icons for all new own made skins.
- Added (a bit dirty, but better than wrong or none at all) bik video wall all new skins. (Still missing Imp #1 and both 2300GTs have vidwall from original Capri skin)
- Added new class indentification tags to all skins and new multiplayer / Dedicated Server classes, so that only cars that are eligible for the race are selectable when joining. (So no more someone joining to Div 1 race with BDB accidentally. Yay. Smiley )

...and probably quite lot of other stuff too which I can't remember right now. Smiley
