Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 417s

Thomas Mogensen (KG7) thumps Lincescom up the rear when he brakes far too late into turn 9, ending Lincescom's race in the gravel. He then almost does a dangerous rejoin before checking up at the last moment.

  • kg7 ([FO]KG-7)penalty — rear ending Lincescom — 2 places lost

Server replay time: 882s

Luke Mustoo has slipped up the inside of Behold in T1. As they run through the kink that is T3, Beholder is very close behind Luke, and as they run towards turn 4, the former is too close to Luke to see where to brake, and runs directly into the back of him.

Luke didn't fully commit to a defensive line, but Beholder could have forced him to by committing to an outside line with the aim of getting alongside, or getting a better run out of 4 and 5 and the inside line into 6 and 7. By remaining directly behind Luke he not only took away his ability to clearly see a braking marker, but also any contingency should Luke brake earlier than him.

Both cars were forced off the track, and whilst Beholder claims that he "let him pass when he caught up, a couple of laps later", it was actually nearly 11 minutes later, when Luke got past after Beholder was slowed up momentarily by a lapping car in turns 11 & 12.

  • John (Beholder)penalty — rear ending Luke Mustoo — 2 places lost

Server replay time: 1653s

Enzo Trede crosses the finish line in the pits and GTR2 fails to register the lap. The results have been corrected to show him finishing after 50 instead of 49 laps, although this does not change the finishing order.

Server replay time: 2649s

Steve T is following Locutos through a big pack of NGTs, and totally misses his braking point for turn 4, managing to collect both Martin Mason and Luke Mustoo in the process and also tagging Locutos.

  • Steve_Tpenalty — contact with multiple cars — 2 places lost

Quite oddly (I thought) towards the end I kept getting blue flags even though there was nobody behind me, quite offputting.

This was a known problem with GTR 1 which no one could be bothered to fix for GTR2  Undecided I got one before the end of the warmup lap and then another before the 1st corner on the first flying lap. Well I know the GT boys are quick but ...................  Shocked

hi dave ,the whole things a mess lol i got the pit bug on lap 15,if you look on graph it shows 4min plus stop, this combined with the second stop for fuel _{because the first stop didnt fill to reqd amount}im not sure about the fuel thing?is there a tweak for the plr to stop this? looking at the 2nd stop im guessing i lost around 2minutes on the 1st stop because of the bug,tbh stuff happens thats why i carried on to try to pick up points,so if its a problem ,just go as it is.

just a quickie about the gt/ngt gripes, dont forget its a bad track because its all stop and start, but some ngt just were just not looking and just saying only pass on straights is a bit much at zu ,when 3 of the straights meant you were having to pass near the braking zone and on the short straights some of the ngt cars were not giving way causing problems for the gt's with longer braking distance than the ngt's,i dont expect you to move but it would'nt hurt you to back of throttle a fraction to allow the pass clean and usually you will get the time back in the draft, the things i use when running in enduro's are mirror you should be able to see what it is ,timer showing position times nearest to fore and aft,and name tags on always,i always hold my line on straights and corners and just back of a little if being passed, that being said i have to say the ngt's have been good at all the circuits this season so hopefully its just zu that had probs.

A race to try to forget for me.
I was well off the pace, but things were going ok till the midway pit stops. Managed to nurf it into the wall on my in-lap.
Stopped in the pits, repaired damaged, changed tyres but it added no fuel!
I had started with 60 mins fuel so I was able to do a few more laps before having to re-pit.
Came in, set the fuel manually to add 30 litres, thinking this would add it to the remaining 12 litres I had on board! Didn't realise that it calculated the 30 litres to be the total amount on board, not just how much it would add? (well thats what it did)

Tried then to drive conservatively and see if I could make it to the end without having to stop again (you may have wondered what I was trying to do Embarrassed ) But no I had to pit in with 2 laps left laugh No one but myself to blame for the shambles. Well done to the podium boys.

ps. sorry to the yellow Saleen driver who overtook me towards the end then went and screwed up at the corner and had me nudge him round.

I did the same thing.  Came in on an impromptu pit stop after finding myself half way into the pits after the fps problems, changed the fuel to however much it was I had room for (10/12 litres I think) - not realising it was stating the total amount that would be in the tank after the pit-stop.  Bloody silly way of doing it if you ask me.  I would have needed another stop late in the race, but I never had a chance for that as my connection was dropped.  Can't remember the last time that happened, previous problems with the connection just had me driving round the circuit by myself after all the other cars dissapeared, rather than being unceremoniously dumped back to the lobby.

There are two different ways to specifiy the fuel during the stops (and in the setup screens) controlled by a flag in the .PLR file. Practise makes perfect though and I spent some two hours testing all the permutations at the start of the season to make sure I never got caught out.

After initial dissapointment with my Qual time, couldn't get anywhere near my PB. I was pleased to move up to 9th fairly soon.
Had a couple of metal to metal incidents, having watched the replay my consiouns (god i just cant spell that word) is clear. On the first I passed Jamera on the outside, he flicked over and hit me and spun himself off.
The second a yellow Saleen took me out, I lost a few seconds but no places, so not to worried although my pursuit was effectively over for the time.
I did cause a bit of carnage at one point (for which I humbly apologise) Came up behind some NGT's for a left hander travelling too fast, locked the brakes and side slided into all five of them. Clipped the rear of one and he spun, fortunately the rest stayed on.
Once again to whoever spun, sorry about that, it was my one black mark on a otherwise enjoyable race.

I did have a great battle on a couple of occasions with CE seeing some very close bumper to bumper racing and eventually got ahead of him when he made a mistake.
Quite oddly (I thought) towards the end I kept getting blue flags even though there was nobody behind me, quite offputting.
Then I got the chequer and couldn't decide whether I had finished or not, I slowed down thinking I had but CE was coming up on me fast, so I figured I had better keep ahead of him. On the last lap there was a car on fire, I dodged round this, CE did the same but immediately after there was another smash and I touched the brakes CE clipped me and spun off. I crossed the line and finally did finish for real. Happy with 6th, although it seems I got 5th in the results?

Yes, we had some good racing there Steve  Grin

Unfortunately I had brake temp problems so I kept out-braking myself in the same turn when I got to eager to pass people  Undecided

I also had a lot of blue flags when there was nobody behind me  Huh

It's OK Don, I made a mess of myself in that corner a lot of times. According to gtr pd my brakes were around 200 degress too hot when braking there. I had a lot of brake duct, but apparently not enough  Undecided

I agree with this. Most of the NGTs were easy to pass. But some people were just not giving me any chance to get pass  Embarrassed

It's a very difficult circuit to overtake NGTs on. In many of the corners they were going almost as fast as the GTs ,so it ended up in some very messy situations trying to get by.

On a side note: I prefer people to just slightly back off throttle, but stay in the race line and then I'll find my way around. It get very unpredictable of people start moving over or braking very early and so on.

Zhuhai is a bit tricky, like Donington. I was stuck into a proper fight for time and position and couldn't afford to be giving up much just to let GTs past; mostly I was trying to stay offline for the corners after fast kinks and brake slightly early for the following slow corner to help the GTs past, but even though it's the Academy I was a bit shocked by how many cars just had no idea where to brake when there was anyone near them and fell off again. If I'd let somebody by once and they'd gone off I was generally less charitable to them when they presented themselves behind me for a second (or in some cases third or fourth, in as many laps) time.

Even at Zhuhai there were plenty of straights where the GTs could power past the slower class cars - getting the timing right is something those unfamiliar with multiclass racing will take time to learn.

Yep. If GTR2/GTL would record laps and positions accurately (like rFactor does) we wouldn't have the problem, but it doesn't, so occaisionally we have to make some hard decisions to avoid turning the whole thing into a big, time consuming, error-prone manual process. Sad

ps. You weren't the third person to cross the finish line. You never took the chequered flag. That's the problem.
Bah...at least the lap chart knows where I finished.

Sorry if i sound all grumpy - thanks for all the hard work you lot put in for this to happen.

Also - BIG thanks to Picnic, he practically jumped out of the way when I picked the wrong way to pass him. Us GT's don't make it easy for NGT's most of the time, so thanks all you NGT's.
I vote for them to stick to the racing line, moving out of the way sometimes causes more problems for everyone, at least sticking to the racing line makes it easy to predict where they will go.

I Think I lost my last lap, i finished 45 secs behind Picnic but the game said i did one less lap than him while not being a lap down. Strange

I've checked and the leader was indeed between the two of you. Enzo Trede on the other hand did lose a lap (as did Madd RIPP in the Masters) - both cross the finish line to the right of the main pit road (having pits near the end of the garages), therefore I suspect that neither had the fix correctly installed. Both results have now been corrected, though neither actually changes the results within their classes.

Not too bad race for me last night, had a few incidents as always Roll Eyes
Qualied 1st by virtually nothing and was able to pull out a small lead at the start.Got hit up the rear again in this  race and went from 1st down to 4th,was able to get back up to 3rd thanks to Chunky letting me through(cheers mate  Cool ) and due to 1st and 2nd battling with each other and trying to get out the way of the GTs was able to get 1st back after having hit Darren up the rear when I didnt find the space to get past him under braking.
When I pitted there were 2 Lambos in the pits doing about 0.5mph so I decided to go up the inside of them, not knowing what there were up to.Came back out of the pits and with about 35mins left in 1st and Gizmo 2-3 secs behind temp. light was flashing on and off when the revs hit the red lines so I had to start short-shifting.Was able to keep in front of Gizmo and keep the engine from blowing up  Cool
Glad to get the win and congrats to Loc!
p.s.Got hit up behind by a GT coming out of the sharp left hander that had absolutley missed his braking point  Shocked and caused abit of havoc  Lips Sealed .GT guys have to remember we also fight for top positions and any seconds we lose are vital.
