James is trying to get a run on Simon out of one of the 1st gear hairpins, but misjudges it and taps Simon, spinning him around. James waits for Simon to rejoin ahead of him and admitted responsibility, so I'm reducing this to a zero place penalty.

Reign Man somehow manages to set respectable times with a digital throttle and brake, goodness knows how! The most important thing is to drive within your abilities - much better to consistently lap 10 seconds off the pace than be picking it out of a gravel trap every other lap.

Isn't this a sort of consistency?  Tongue

Hello firiends!!!!  Wink

After taking a break from racing last week, it certainly has gotten my racing blood boiling again and that was evident in the Enduro event in which theose pesky "Finding Nemo" guys aka Sharks  Wink Cheesy whistling Grin got a real wake up call!!

Looking forward to tonights race and just a few wise words from me...although its fun to race ALL THE TIME, its not really recommened as we need to srtike a balance...for me thats work, girlfirend, family and general health! ...and it saved me from burning my copy of GTR2 Smiley

So now im refreshed and back to enjoying my racing! ...oh and ive gotten back into GTL as well which is never a bad thing!

You're probably all right, its best I stay out of everyones way. I'd like to join in to the free practices on some nights such as last night though.

Anyway, best get shopping for a wheel then

b'ah dont worry about those bullies Linco  Tongue  Get yourself on track and join in the racing. Take a steadier GT instead of the real lairy beasts, maybe a Corvette or Viper? (others may have better recommendations?) and as Dave said, concentrate on driving within your own speed as opposed to flat out. We all have to start somewhere.  angel

small print:- However if you take me out, there will of course be trouble  Wink  Grin

You should definitely get yourself a wheel though. Even the fabulous DFP pro can be got for about £60 now.

Corvette or Lister are good GT cars to start with.

Morning!

Had a great practice last night, really enjoyed it. Started out in an NGT, the TVR. Managed mid 1.43's. Finally changed to the 575 and managed a 1.35. Having just a controller is a real nightmare! Throttle and break is just on - off - on - off. Really need a wheel. Can't get out of corners quick in most cases and was locking up too much.

Anyway, I have a prior engagement pending tonight so hopefully i'll make it for the sprint tonight. Though anyone who was on last night is praying I wont be! I'm still cleaning out the gravel Wink

Regards
Colin Cool
I think you need to practise online and offline a bit before coming straight into leagues. It always takes a while with sims before you start finding your limits, sometimes weeks.
Whilst I understand what Pedro is saying, I dont fully agree with it. Having a wheel and pedels is certainly a big advantage, especially when the tyres go off and you start sliding, but a pad isn't a massive handicap. I've only been using a wheel for a month now, and ran with my PS2 controller for over a year and my fastest laps are almost the same as with my wheel. You have to make a few sacrifices with no abs or tc, such as lowering the braking force to 85/90% to stop them from locking, and tapping the throttle on and off is quite delicate and tricky, but by no means dangerous if done properly.

If you are using a pad however, I'd advise learning the track and reaching your limits with abs and tc turned on...then once you are confident and driving fast, turn the aids off and start learning how to drive fast without the aids. GTR2 is definately more forgiving than GTR with no aids, so it shouldn't be tough to transition.

Hope that helps

Had some lag/warping issues with a red 550 on the end of lap one - it was stationary on the track for a few secs, so i swerved to avoid.......and lost it - never really got back into the race after this point, and i spun it in front of someone trying to lap me (Loc?) sorry mate - i tried to esc a.s.a.p... :'(

Bad night for me - must practice much more. Roll Eyes

The pace was great from everyone, although i think i missed out by not competing oin sundays enduro event, and only raced one time previosly at Zuhai. Sad

Grats to everyone who took part  Cool

Same happened to me except i didn't avoid it and car went all weird and spun  Sad . However I had a few good scraps getting back up to my start position even if Jan's car tried to throw me of with a Bond- esq  ninja smokescreen!! Tongue Hard work for no points, are we going to change the points in season 5? You know last place gets a point going up to BIG points for P1 sort of thing? Grin would make us lower guys see a reward?

In qually I did a PB and got pole.

The start started scary, as Jon went off behind me Shocked, missing out on a 1-2 for Shark. I then was able to keep increasing the gap on Radius.

After the gap was about 10s, I started to ease off a bit and save the tuned Fiat Cheesy. But all of a sudden the gap was decreasing, and I suspected Claus was behind me at that point, as I was only about .4 slower than my fastest racelap.
In the end I had TT and MJ infront of me, but as they were battling I didn't want to lap them. So I stayed behind for about 1/3 of a lap, but then TT let go of the throttle to let me by, and I couldn't stay behind anymore. Had a good C5R sound infront for the last few metres, which made a mini-boner Tongue
