Fun battles along the way and how Phil and I got round Woodcote side by side like that I'll never know. Great driving, Phil.
Yes great fun but I wish the same could said for my driving on Lap 2 at Chapel. I rear ended Dave Sad . Very sorry about that.

No worries Phil,  fun events & again turned out to be rather frantic.

Thanks for the exciting times chaps & congratulations up the sharp end.

I must say, the 1 lap thing worked out better than I thought it would.
Although just need to hope that you don't come across an outlapper on 'the one'.
Still - is the same for everyone.

Overall, I say this miniseries was a good break from the norm. Thanks!

Cheers,
Dave.

Interesting results. Grats to Arf on topping race 2, very consistent driving. Well done to Tris on two amazingly fast and consistent drives.

I hope everyone enjoyed Clive's new format. The reverse races were great fun. A fitting tribute to Beefpie. RIP Joe.

I didn't have time to download the Reverse Tracks but the forward direction races were good fun.

Unlike the Monza I avoided all the Lap 1 accidents. So no excuse this time for being slow.

It does not appear that anyone has any incidents to report and that all races were conducted in the right spirit.

Provisionally it looks like Tris has taken the JSMT for this year, I will close the Incident Report page tomorrow and declare the result official if it stays blank.

What did drivers feel about the REVERSE tracks,  Fun, Challanging, Exciting or just a pain in the a**?? Would you like to see them again?

There has been some feedback about the handicap format, but it would be good if all participants gave their opinion on how it worked for them. We could run other fun series with a similar format and give every driver a shot at the champagne  drool.

It maybe possible to run a complete championship across 2 ( or more)  servers with everyone racing against each other AND their PB's but that will require some deeper thinking. Wink

The reverse tracks were great fun and add an additional challenge (for me anyway) caused by the apparent familiarity with the track - initially I instinctively tried to enter the corner as I would normally exit it, only to find that it just doesn't work. I need to treat them as brand new tracks...

The handicap system... interested to see what others think. It was definitely novel and fun, but unsure how repeatable it is. It could be open to abuse. I chose the BT11 because I was still red in it for that track (have gone green in other cars), and saw it as a challenge to get green... which I did not manage, despite finishing in a strong P2 - i think that's why I haven't really cared about the 65 rank challenge - it's too difficult. Also, I think I only had 3 times set for that car/track combo. If I wanted to run a different car for a race I might have to create a rank to enter it, and that means that I could be tempted to set a more conservative time to make me look good in the race. It worked well this time because it was a surprise, maybe? When I set the time I was measured against I was almost certainly flat out, and I only bettered it by 0.2s in the race... which doesn't say much for my improvements since I set that time some years ago  Grin

Very happy to be P3 in a championship! WD to Dave and Tris for the other podium spots.

A bit disapponted by my end results. I could have easily finished 2nd at Monza with a consistent race if I hadn't handiccapped myself with a stop-go not required by the rules. Roll Eyes Bob did the same but he had an off at Para in the end when he was ahead of me.
At Silver I started well in 4th position (polesitter Leo didn't start) avoiding the car beside that was sliding in to me, but at T1 the same car tried to overtake inside and we touched restarting both dead last. Then I had a nice catch up till 5th position with no chance to catch Bastian and Andreas battling ahead and without other crashes or offs, but the consistence was bad cause lap1 crash.
As already stated by Doni, not many drivers took this challenge with the right attitude to avoid crashes and risks battling a lot with other drivers.
In the end I think that this kind of races battling vs our PBs are too influenced by the interaction with other drivers, in some occasion very unlucky like Raoni at Monza that hit a lapped car out of control for example.
The reverse tracks were fun and interesting to find new lines as said Arf.
Thx for organizing Smiley

I got wiped out twice ,  first was Lap 1 going into stowe when Phil made a move up the inside and although there was no physical contact GPL decided it was too close and I got warped off the track , after the re set I got as far as chapel where Meneguzzi drifted wide into me resulting in my being launched about 200 ft into the atmosphere . When the dust settled I went to re join the track only to find I was headed the wrong way , did a swift U turn but my car wasnt right so another S/R needed to carry on but only as far as Woodcote where I got the dreaded Black Flag and retired from a very disapointing race . Having been taken off on the reverse race first on the start of my qually lap then later in the race by Dave going into Ednarg Evruc it was not my lucky day  Roll Eyes

Sorry about that Bernie. It was a clean move and I couldn't have been closer the the inside kerb but as I put the power on I got a twitch of oversteer which probably generated enough of a lateral movement for GPL to register warp contact. It was just unlucky and one of the limitations of on-line racing. In situations like that I try to stay as wide as possible to try to limit my exposure to warp but it is easier said than done. I actually drove off the track in the 65 race at Philip Island trying to keep out of trouble  Roll Eyes

Appreciate that Phil , no blame whatsoever intended or implied , in fact looking at  the replay I was surprised to see just how big the gap between us was , obviously GPL saw it differently which leads me to believe there may have been an issue with the crash boxes escpecially after the way I got launched into oblivion on the 2nd occasion after what seemed to be the slightest of contacts ?

I say this because I don't recall ever having warp issues like this before in 65 mod !
