Enjoyable race last night and a better than expected result.

Started at the back and managed to pick my way through T1 then took it easy for a couple of laps until my tyres and brakes settled in. Had a nice few laps with Bob and was shaping up for a good battle until he got caught up in someone else's incident.

I then had a bit of a gap to Jari in front which gave me a target to chase for the next dozen or so laps. When I eventually closed in a small error onto the back straight made for an easy pass. From then it was a matter of keeping my concentration to the end and plugging in consistent laps. On the last lap I passed a car that had gone off track and then another that appeared to be stationary halfway up the s/f straight  Huh I only realised when I had crossed the line that I had somehow gained another position and in my confusion hit exit instead of return to pit  Roll Eyes

Not sure what was going on with this track. I had to drastically reduce my in game settings and those in my nvidia inspector profile to make it drivable and still it was a little sketchy in parts, obviously some conflict going on. Had a quick look at Interlagos for next week and was able to ramp everything back up to my normal settings....track looks fantastic  Cool

Congrats to pody  thumbup1

Rear vision in the Lotus in VR is zero. The mirrors may as well be not there. Apologies to anyone who I may have impeded whilst being overtaken. Apart from that had a good race, not fast but no mistakes and most important finished.

I recommend installing helicorsa and putting it in the middle of the windscreen... helps a lot noticing cars around. There is also lots of tweaks you can do with mirrors. Was searching the one I have installed and just found this which seems much better than what I have right now (what I have now only changes viewpoint on mirror when I move my head - like in the real mirror... but this ads also indipendantly adjustable mirrors) https://www.reddit.com/r/assettocorsa/comments/apfoog/virtual_mirrors_app_by_custom_shaders_patch_setup/

I hadn't seen that one Jukka - that coud be handy.

I was going to mention Helicorsa though - even when I'm being ultra-authentic and have all the apps off I still run that just to avoid driving into people I hadn't spotted in the mirrors. Smiley

Will try the helicorsa as don't want to install CSP, tried that before and it messed my install up.

Qualif went not so good for me, I was unable to submit a good time.

At turn 1 I underestimated the conditions and went off by my own, to see then that half of the grid was accompanying me in the grass.   Shocked
That was a bad L1..  Grin

After a few laps I was eventually able to put some pressure on Syd Drake, but unfortunately I locked front inside wheel in T1 and failed to unlock it while Syd was closing to the apex though he had a quite outside lane. With a bit of luck we could have not contacted. Unfortunately my front right wheel got his rear left, not very brutal but it sent us in the grass with a complete loss of control for him. Then he got back on track and got a 2nd contact with someone. So that we lost loads of time and positions.
Again, I'm so sorry for that Syd, all my apologies. Cry

After that it was quite a nice race, trying to get back to the mid pack.

Though I punted Bob while lapping him, sorry Bob but I was pretty sure you were about to let me pass as it was since a few turns that I was expecting you to get out of the way. Perhaps there was a bug with blue flags or something ?

After some positions recovery, Syd did a mistake late in the race and so I passed him, a bit sorry to get his position eventually..  :/

Unless you're running a non-standard app AC doesn't have any blue flags Huh
