Season 38 - SC67 - Lola vs Ferrari Cup – Round 9 - 37¾ mile Isle Of Man Mountain Course

WIP

Round 9 of the S38 Lola vs Ferrari Cup we visit the "37¾ mile Isle Of Man Mountain Course" a wonderfull new track made in many years by Aussie Jim Pearson. It seems to be made for this cars...

Please check the Season 38 details regarding rules and the Lola vs Ferrari Cup pages in particular.
In order to add an element of realism, and to hopefully reduce the possibility of rear-end incidents, the brake light patch will be used  eek

Race List =  IGOR
Server = UKGPL_8
IP Address = TBA
Race date = 21-05-2021
GPL mod = SC67 - Lola / Ferrari only
60fps patch = 60fpsV2newmod
Track dir = AAIOM
Quali starts = 20:45  UK time -> 45min
Race starts = ~21:30 UK time
Race length = ~50 min -> 2 laps

Handicapping

"Works" drivers will carry extra weight in form of 10 gallons of race fuel (to remain in the tank after the race). No limit in quali!
Drivers are expected to behave in a fair and gentlemanly fashion and declare how much fuel they have left after the race.

In order to ensure there will be ~10 gallons of fuel left after the race, the minimum race fuel load for Works is expected to be:

  • Lola T70 = 29 gallons (~110 litres)
  • Ferrari P4 = 30 gallons (~114 litres)

4 x resets will be allowed there is no need to carry out a Stop and Go in the pit lane if you make a Shift-R.

Drivers are reminded that Lap 1 incidents carry an extra 1 place penalty.
Only reported incidents will be moderated.

Please restrict chat to emergency messages only including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

With such a long lap, are there any rules regarding qualifying?

Yes, you shouldn't start a full lap with less than 10 min to go,
like Targa you have only 10 min time after end session of Q

FYI...

Did a lap in the Lola yesterday coming in with a time just under 21 minutes.  Used only 5-1/2 USG.  No resets.

This track is so tough mentally. It's hard work concentrating for 2 laps. I'll just be happy to finish in one piece.

I only needed 5-1/2 resets for one lap.

I'll be lucky to finish. 4 resets might be far from generous enough to allow me to finish. lol

I also get scared whenever I reach 160 mph. I know catastrophe is going to strike soon.

Any chance of starting the server early as it takes 8 minutes for the track to load on my Linux system.

Mr Gates and a +***??!! Win 10 update appear to have scrambled my GEM/IGOR.....again!!

I have reloaded GEM/IGOR and now I can access GEM and all the car mods/drivers, but Igor refuses to load properly and therefore I have no RACELIST. ( I get a message about "access violation in IGOR.exe" ??).
Also I have lost the latest IP for Igor, can someone remind me of the correct address?

[ RaceListServers ]
IP                        = igor.gplrank.info

IMO you can't copy the gplsecrets folder as it has been registered in Win  when installed

so

you should run the GEMPackage_2.5.0.32.exe again

Something very odd is happening and I cannot find where the problem lies.

I deleted my old GPL secrets folder and I have re-installed GEM 2.5.0.32.

Allowed Gem to rebuild the .exe files

All carsets and players available.

Configured the IGOR button and pointed it at the Igor.exe

Clicked the IGOR button and get the Win10  "Access violation" message again, but when I cancel that message, the Igor screen appears.

Igor chat starts and seems OK.

The racelist takes around a minute to populate ( normally that is almost instant?? ) and all of the race servers are shown as NOT AVAILABLE to join, even though I know that the circuits and mods are loaded in GEM.

ATM I can at least see the IP address for tonight's race, so I should be able to join via the GPL Multiplayer route.

i had a massive  win10 update Yesterday and i was worried about, but all seems ok. Evil i had the same tour message at IGOr startup time ago, and i could't joint races . I discoveredwas related to directories access permissions. Maybe you Lost your permissions with the update, try to allow indicizzation of your GPL folder and your track directory.

@Clive

sometimes the GEMinstallet makes stupid path to the gpl folder - so please check in igor options if the path is correct Wink

You can open the track offline before the server starts and it will usually load much quicker the 2nd time it is opened.
