Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 0

When the lights go green to start the formation lap Ivansmiven starts to go and realises that the cars ahead have not gone and so he stops. This leaves him forward enough to mean that the car 1 place in front of him is now out of view on the left. When the cars in front do start moving, Ivan now assumes that the car he can see is the one to follow, and Munkez loses his place. Ivan keeps the place until the start proper.

I think this was an honest mistake (I did exactly the same in GTL when these starts were new to me). It was made more likely by the fact that PRibeiro appears to move early ahead of Ivan. Since it didn't affect the result (Ivan went off half a lap later) I propose to only issue a caution. Could everyone please note though, the rules state that you must not move on the grid until the car in front moves. That actually means the car 1 place in front, which will normally be to one side. Please focus on that car from the start and only go when it has gone.

  • ivansmivencaution — Moving before the car ahead on the grid

Server replay time: 1044s

Ivansmiven spins on the exit of Macleans and ends up facing back down the track. In his haste to rejoin he attempts a spin turn even though he can see the car of Don approaching. The spin turn leaves him stationary in the middle of the track and Don has nowhere to go. The resulting contact takes Don out of the race and Ivan retires.

There is no excuse here, especially as Ivan was facing the oncoming traffic and therefore should have been able to pick a gap. A much better choice would have been to drive across the track onto the grass on the other side and rejoin at a gradual angle, as this would not have left the car stationary in the middle of the track.

  • ivansmivenpenalty — Bad Rejoin — 3 places lost

Unfortunately Greg's appearance in the Academy (with my blessing - boy do I feel like a chump now)  coupled with Picnic's DNF has extinguished the last (admittedly distant) hope of Team Shark getting the team championship. :'(

same with Racin24-7!!! Might have to ask RoGuE to help out more often! And bloody spin first lap! haha

Dont worry Dave, if all goes according to plan I will off down under in about 5 weeks.  It was nice to be able to enjoy my racing and relax for a change  Wink

So i took the vertislow and decieded to start plum last. Tried not to get in anyones way, dont think i did and finished 9th i think Cheesy

Wondered who "Grecian Worship" was! lol

We might have to come up with a better plan for stopping those who are normally Masters from affecting the championships in the Acaedmy; the Vertigo was a good idea and I thank you for it. Well i was plannig on taking the 350Z lol but common sense prevailed  Wink Grin Grin

I was expecting not to score any points (let alone be included in the results) therefore those behind gain a place and some points! init?

At the moment the software which generates the results has no capacity to avoid giving points to "guest" drivers. Since the divisions are supposed to be ability-based, it's not generally desirable to have Masters in the Academy or vice versa.

That doesn't seem to be fair.  Angry  Academy driver who would get a point gets excluded 'cause "Masters wanna race, my boy"! ?  Huh

I never said it was fair - I said the software isn't designed to have people racing in the "wrong" division.

I was looking forward to this race but my connection has decided to crap out on me. It will hopefully be fixed for the enduro. Though I am not hopeful.

Looks like I missed an eventful race!

Hi Dave

Just an explanation of why I baled out last night.

It seems that the frame rate problem I had last week at Laguna came back to haunt me.

After much gnashing of teeth I narrowed the problem down to my having installed the latest video drivers. 93.XX or something so I went back to the old drivers and everything now seems OK.

I must stop faffing about with my computer

Quite an intense race for me last night....
Quallied 6th with my PB and had Paul up behind me,he went up the inside of me and we just clipped each other which sent me into the gravel and down to 12th.
Fought my way back up the field and a few good battles on the way,was able to get upto 5th and with 7 minutes left I was 3 seconds behind Giz.started pushing to get up behind Giz and when I got within 1 second of him I spun out....
Got back on track and had 2 extremely intense final laps with Camusito(really sorry for the touch on last lap  Lips Sealed  :'( )and Rouge,in the end finished where I started 6th...
Not a bad final result....Fighting for the team championship  Grin Tongue

I was again having problems coming round the Melbourne loop - the point where the garages and other pit area structures are in view. Nowhere else, just there.
