Moderator's Report

Locutos was in clear violation of the "Use Of Track Surface" rules by having all four wheels on the grass repeatedly (for example, at replay times 409, 496, 583, 742, 758, 934).

Whilst some of these cuts, especially at the Old Hairpin and McLeans are clearly accidently, the cutting of the second part of the Foggy Esses is repeated, and frequently blatant. It is most regrettable that this cutting, which was unreported and only noticed whilst reviewing other incidents, should involve one of the moderating team.

Server replay time: 477s

Dave Gymer is a little slow in Redgate as he has Chunky ahead of him. Reign Man is looking for a good exit to capitalise but gets on the power a little too early and fails to back out before running into the back of Dave and spinning him out.

  • Reign Manpenalty — contact with Dave Gymer — 2 places lost

Server replay time: 984s

Mojo is just ahead of Locutos, who is in turn being followed fairly closely by FreQ; as the group of GTs are approaching the Old Hairpin, Mojo catches Reign Man to lap his NGT car.

Mojo has to brake earlier and harder than usual to avoid running into the TVR; Locutos fails to anticipate this and runs into the back of him, spinning Mojo out.

Server replay time: 1000s

Mojo has gone off just after the old Hairpin and rejoins as Kerr and EdamSpeed are coming through. Kerr almost avoids him but there is a little overlap and with Kerr at full tilt the result is a major smash. Edam somehow drivers under Mojo's airborn car!

Mojo had a good view of the approaching cars but still drove onto the circuit, and in his haste put his car sideways across the racing line just as Brian arrived.

Kerr did have a view of the dust cloud kicked up by Mojo's car and could and should have slowed his pace a fraction in caution, and as a result I am reducing the normal 3 place penalty to 2 (though the incdent ended Mojo's race in any case).

  • Kerr (Brian Kerr)advice — Slow down when approaching the scene of an accident
  • Mojopenalty — Bad rejoin — 2 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 2151s

Dave Gymer is a second or so back from Beholder as they reach the Foggy Esses. Beholder broke relatively early but Dave broke far too late and despite trying to avoid the Porsche by ducking right at the last moment, he clips the back of Beholder's car, spinning him round.

Dave took a drive through two laps later (one lap after his scheduled pit stop was completed), so the penalty is reduced to 0 places.

Server replay time: 2708s

Locutos is unlapped by Nug into Coppice. He is looking to get back past into the Fogarty Esses but mistimes his braking horribly and runs into the back of Darren.

Server replay time: 2970s

Luke Mustoo is lapping Gerald between the Melbourne Loop and Goddards; Gerald lets him past but then misses his braking point and flies off the road. Fortunately Luke sees him and avoids turning across him.

Server replay time: 3316s

Brian Kerr is coming up to lap Munkez as he arrives at Goddards. Brian tries to dive up the inside rather than wait until the start/finish straight but hasn't quite got any overlap when Munkez turns in and locks a wheel under braking, carrying him into the side of the Ferrari.

Luckily no real damage was done but this is exactly the kind of impatient action between cars which aren't racing for position that can so easily end somebody's race prematurely.

Server replay time: 3780s

Edam tries to lap Don by squeezing past under braking at the Old Hairpin but the attempt is rather half-baked and he ends up tapping Don's right rear corner and causing him to slide wide whilst correcting.

This is the sort of incident which is inevitable at a twisty track like Donington but Edam should either have been a bit more patient, or a bit more decisive. However it does, as they say, take two to tango, and Don could have removed the danger by simply braking 30m earlier than usual and letting Edam past whilst losing very little time.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 3800s

Picnic came in for his pit stop near the end of the race, but unfortunately the AI driver took over his car during the stop and he was unable to get it back. This is treated as a disco or mechanical failure; therefore, the results have been amended to remove the last 12 laps of his race.

In future we recommend retiring if this happens rather than risk the AI driver being involved in an incident with another car.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 4176s

At this point, Picnic's car is under AI control. It collides with Edam at Coppice, putting him onto the grass.

This is an unprecedented situation in SRou; Edam has requested no penalty be issued, so I'm not going to try and figure out whether this is a simple 2 place penalty or "something else". However, as a matter of policy, in future a driver whose car is under AI control may be held responsible for any incident it causes.

  • picnic (Picnic)penalty — AI contact with EdamSpeed
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

very dissapointed :'(, got my best qualy of 1:34 after lots of practice angel. The time showed on the qualy board but did not give me the correct position? Then when the server goes to race I find myself not on the grid AngryHuh? Was I DQ'd maybe? Anyway, it allows me to Click on race and then it puts me in a field Huh  Shocked???.

I know im not the fastest but I don't deserve to be put in a field. Although, I suppose it was for the best - i would have just got in someones way Sad

Anyone know what happened - is there a server limit or was I booted??

Very strange goings on tonight, I went in for my pit stop, pfaffed around trying to cancel repair work before pressing return to accept stuff as the crew were shouting at me only for the AI to drive the car out of the pits and is still driving now. So sorry for the inconsiderate lines I'm now taking as you GT guys try to come passed.

Came out of pits first in NGT class too, although I doubt I would have held that. Come on car, keep 2nd Wink

Another dia race for me.
Didn't help that i was used as a brake at the chicane.
Or be knocked off by a lapping GT car that couldn't wait till we were out of the turn and on a 1/4 mile long straight.
Dont they realise that were all racing for position or what.
Anyway after that I'd had enough and quit.
Glad to see the back of this track.
2 poor performances in a week.
What a nightmare.

By the way,Picnic

I was behind your car for the last few laps.
And to be fair,if that was the AI driving.
He was doing alright.
I was struggling to catch him.

Another moan from me, but why! in an Endurance event do people have to bump and barge past on the opening laps of the race?
99 secs worth of damage on lap 2, race was over for me from then on but refused to give up.

Enjoyable race, ended up 12 th! A good result for me!
Mainly as everybody else seemed happy to drop out etc!!
Sorry to a couple of the GT guys! A couple of minor moments as GT's pushed to overtake at
less than ideal times but as Donnington is pretty much one long corner with a few interuptions then
it was never gonna be easy!
Had a brilliant time chasing down Multek?, but a combination of a couple of GT's and a minor mistake / spin
put pay to that!

Really enjoyed it !! Look forward to the next!

Yeah had the same happen to me at Goddard's before the start/finish straight.... kept going though to finish 5th i think in class!! well chuffed Grin
Did make the one mistake taking in a trip to the sand trap at Old Hairpin.... might of cost me a podium Embarrassed

Terrible race once again for me. Came off early on and had to wait for EVERY car to pass me before I managed to get back onto the track.  Had a really hard fight passing all the NGT's to regroup with the GT's.

Found the track awful for passing the slower cars, had an incident with one NGT thinking he was giving me room then closing me down and unfortunately he came off worse.

good racing all and congrats top of class!!!

Another bad race. My virus software downloaded an update and minimized the game. Even worse that i was in the lead and easing away with a nice car. Lost me 5 positions or so. Managed to pass edamspeed and making good progress to catch.

Came around craner curve(I'm sure right bend) on lap 10-11, and could see a car off the track and assumed he could see us. He just drove straight into the middle of the track car and i could not go anywhere. Major damage which lead to a long pit stop and also forced me to make another pit stop to make the distance.

Thought i had a decent chance of a win but not to be. Well done to all.

Not a great race for me, took forever to get up to speed.  Had a couple of 1 fps moments courtesy of forgetting to disable Norton (sorry to any people I scared the bejesus out of you).  Had a massive fight with Chunky for the largest part of the race, getting the upper hand only to lose it after having to pit for a splash and dash ... but I managed to get by again on the penultimate lap .... good racing though.

Speaking of pitting .... when an NGT car announces their intention to pit 2 corners in advance, please would the GT drivers not overtake on the inside of the final corner approaching the pits.  This happened to me, and I had to run another lap before finally being able to pit, not to mention settling down again after being somewhat distracted.

But....when all's said and done, it's good to get another race under my belt after the computer problems that I've been having of late, shame I wasn't problem free (my fault ... damn you Norton!!).  Not a good performance though, time to get back to form for the next one.

wow what a race. Wasn't up to speed (haven't had much practice) . Very hard to pass the NGTs on this track. Most gave me room ,but not all  Undecided

I was chasing down 3rd position and then with only a couple of laps to go and an NGT (won't mention any names) decided to smash into my rear knocking me deep into the sand. I was backing up to avoid hitting Adam Parle, apparently the driver behind didn't see Adam going onto the grass and coming back in..

Fortunately kept my 4th,but might have been a close 3rd if not for that incident  Undecided

But apart from that, a very good race and thx to all NGTs who let me by without hassle. I know it's not easy to give room and at the same time fight for position    thumbup1

Completely agree Don..  Luckily it didn't happen to me this time because I had you to hold the traffic off me for a couple of laps.  Tongue

Completely gutted.  Qualified on pole and managed to gain a 5 second lead over the opening laps.  But my stupidity and carelessness of some GT drivers cost me that lead.  no

When a NGT car is at the chicane there is nowhere for us to go.  We are not there as brakes.  Grin

Being shunted by 2 GT cars at the chicane forced me to pit early and as a result screwed up my fuel load for the rest of the race.  Why doesn't it add to your current fuel instead emptying your tank and then filling up to the requested amount?

Anyway, had to pit with 1 lap to go changing 2nd into 7th  Sad

Well done Luke.
