I was still getting comfortable with my new wheel, so was not expecting to be super quick ( especially as I have never been super quick lol!) so was content to be at the back of the grid and run a conservative race, aiming simply to get some laps under my belt and reach the finish.
Christian made a mistake early in the race and dropped back a little leaving me chasing Tony in our own dice.
Tony and I were enjoying a good battle and just about evenly matched on lap pace, when exiting the hairpin through the Esses Tony's car suddenly appeared to turn 90 degrees to the track but continue moving forward but only slightly slower !!???....so I ran into him in order to alert him to his unconventional behaviour. It just seemed the gentlemanly thing to do
Having carefully and considerately pushed sideways Tony out of the way, I continued and for the next lap I was passing frozen cars....was it my connection that was lost and was I about to be disco'd??? or was it a mass freeze brought on by the over abundance of alien DNA in such a small area of Southern Germany? I passed Hristo who appeared to have made a pit stop and within a lap I was up to 3rd place
, which was obviously wrong.
I was fully expecting that a restart would be called and hit the ESC key, but it appears that there were others who also avoided the gremlins and continued. No worries if we run the race again, it is all good practice
