If you are stuck Clive, you are welcome to my old Driving Force Pro wheel. It was still working fine when I bought my G29 about 4 years ago, been in the loft since. No idea if it will work with the rest of your setup though.

This is similar to mine and it's exactly what Hristo has. Brilliant wheel.

DFP is not bad, but its FFB is definitely not on par with the newer and better wheels. As for T300, I've had friends complain about overheating as well, plus its pedals suck, so I don't recommend it. I'd still go with a G27-G29 for something like GTL and even newer sims. Outside of that, it's a big difference in terms of pricing for the really good wheels such as TS-PC Racer or the Fanatec wheels.

I would put good money on that problem having been developing for a while before finally failing properly as well Clive....
I have used Fanatec for the last 12 years or so, and am therefore probably biased.
I have used G25 and G27, and have also used the Thrustmaster T500 in the past, but never even seen the T300 so can't comment.
I will say this, the G25/27 were OK, but nowhere near as nice to use as my sons CSL Elite, never mind the Clubsport I have. The lack of smoothness of the FFB is the biggest thing..... I would be looking at the prices those CSL Elite bases are going for second hand if I wanted a decent deal, being as a good few people will be trading up for the DD version Geoff has spoken about.
DFP for cheap in the meantime would be a good stopgap, or I have a Fanatec GT3RS I am no longer using if that would be of interest Clive.

Thanks for all of the feedback and the offers of various wheels ( Geoffers and Daz ). I have consulted with fellow some GPL'ers, and my domestic financial controller, and from what I can find the Thrustmaster T300 looks like the best value for money. A Fanatec would be nice, but I really cannot justify the cost and anyway it appears that virtually all Fanatec products are out of stock until further notice. So, I am expecting to have a T300 in my sweaty hands tomorrow. Without a wheel I could go into cold turkey. Daz's suggestion that things have been failing for a while is probably bang on. I was becoming increasingly frustrated with my simracing performances and now I wonder if it was all linked to lack of direction ?? or at least lack of directional control. Not so many incidents here at GTL, but over in GPL I have had a string of contact incidents that are not normally part of my repertoire. Having said that I have now exposed myself if I don't improve results in the coming months. For Sale. A kit that will (almost ) constitute a working G25 when correctly assembled. No reasonable offer refused.

Robby: "A few days ago I tried to change my email from to . I messed up the spelling and tried to use my old login, but to no avail and thus without access. Can this be rectified soon, please?" Admin note: Probably not the best idea to post email addresses on a public facing forum.

Seems Robby has stuffed his forum rights somehow. He is no longer listed as a member. No idea if it can be fixed or not but I have asked for it to be looked into.

A shiny new Thrustmaster wheel bolted to my rig. All appears to work OK even with the Bodnar cables and using the Logitech shifter and pedals. After years of driving a Logitech I am finding the lack of a centre dead zone to feel very odd. The smoothness and precision of this wheel will require some adapting to......getting my excuses in early Only one query. I cannot get any FF in GTL?? despite setting it to FULL within the controls menu. Also tried revering effects , but still no joy. FF definitely works as I have also tried GPL and discovered just how strong this T300 is!!! lol Is there something in the GTL config that I need to activate perhaps? re Robby's issue. Is it simply the FORUM login that he has screwed? or the lobby login for races? I seem to recall that when I lost lobby login details about 18 months ago I created a new ID and pword. If Robby's forum probs cannot be resolved by the admin, I suggest that he creates a virgin Gmail account and keep it specifically for GTL/gaming issues, plus a new "Robby ID" and pword for the forum.....What I do now with all of my login stuff is to keep a small notebook ( the paper sort!!) alongside my PC and everything and anything that might be of use goes in there. Logins and email/pwords at the back and details of car sets and series/setups in the front.

Have you tried using the different presets for the FFB to see if that changes anything at all Clive?

I'm interested to know the gain with GPL compared to the g25 / 27, of course on the dead zone, but still ... (and on GTL) (but you haven't tried Linux yet ...?) For ffb, maybe reinstall the software / driver Thrustmaster ... In the plr, maybe a line that would be reset to 0

Now we're done for! No idea about FFB though. Perhaps someone with a similar wheel can shed some info about that. I tried googling for your issue but couldn't find anything specific. Hope you manage to resolve it

When the Thrustmaster wheel is initiated from the website there is a program that is uploaded. That is where one may change the FFB settings for the wheel. If you don't use this it defaults to 80% overall and everything else a full 100%. If that prog isn't there then one needs to reinitiate the wheel again and look for that prog, although it should come up as a shortcut on the desktop. Very important to have this. I hope this helps.
