Haha, simracers seem to be either cyclists or guitarists or both.

I have this 90's mtb which is great for the type of riding I do. It's slicked up for the summer so nice and quick on the lanes as long as I stay clear of mud! I'm off to South Wales tomorrow in the western part of the Brecon Beacons which is very quiet and stunningly beautiful. I'm planning to do around 30 miles with a stop off for lunch at a little cafe. It's all mountains so I'll be knackered by the time I get home.

An mtb with no suspension and v-brakes. Now, that is old school  Grin
Since we're sharing, this is the new one:

And this is what it replaced:

I'm getting bike envy  Smiley Amazing how much the geometry and technology has developed over the years.

Looks like a lovely part of the world Syd.

I don't know what's wrong with you lot. My MTB has rust on most of it Grin
It's only used for riding to the pub though or around to friends when drinking, the dog has made cycling pointless and slightly suicidal over long distances...

Kai doesn't, I discovered when she was young that she finds it highly amusing to stop sideways in front of me when I was running with her....
Add 10mph to that and I'll simultaneously run her over and break my neck!

Stupid BRM and their stupid gearbox cost me that one - 4th to 1st and KABOOM!

By the time my numptys had finished fitting random valve springs and pistons back into the wrong places I rejoined some 4 minutes or so behind the remaining field.
Given I only had 2 or 3 laps of racing left at that point I'm pretty pleased with the gap I closed, but furious over missing my strongest round in the series Angry

Well, that was in interesting race.
Only five of us, but it didn't surprise me that many drivers stayed away from this track.
Didn't qualify into 4th. At the start Fabri pulled to the side and I got the jump on Kimi, so I was second. Then I managed to hit the first wall you can hit after the start, around 4th corner. Crew chief reported I had a bent suspension, and the car was definitely more lively after that, but was still driveable. Then still on first lap I managed to scrape a fence, and crew chief this time reported I had some aero damage. It probably influenced my top speed, but the car felt the same. By this time Jari was all over me, and managed to pass me for second. After that I calmed down, and managed to avoid hitting stuff. I still went off somewhere at least once a lap, so no valid laps for the entire race Smiley. At the front Tim was way ahead as expected, and Jari was pulling away as well. But then, on lap 3, I heard crew chief saying the leader was pitting. After the race I found out Tims gearbox blew up the engine. So I was now second, probable 20-30 seconds behind Jari and similar time ahead of Fabri. At some point on lap 4, I got the leader pitting message again. I guess Jari had a crash. So now I was leading with less then half the race to go. I kept improving my times, but that one-two smaller off was still going on. I got lap times down to 9 07, and on the last lap I was up on that as well. I had I think over a minute lead, and I kept pushing it, thinking I might be able to brake 9 minutes and with about 1km to go I crashed hard into one of those observation boxes on the side of the track. Not very smart. I blew out both front tires, and bent the suspension on both front wheels. But hey, I'm way ahead, let's try to get going. And going I did, with the wheel at about 90 degrees to the left to go straight. It was almost impossible to steer, but somehow I managed to get it through those last 4-5 turns and finish  Grin
No doubt a real lucky win, but I'm not complaining.

This round was really hard. I wasn't able to memorize the track, so I went slowly throughout the race. Despite this, I took a cabin and made 2 excursions on the grass, but without destroying the car.  angel

Great race, Syd!

Tim, unfortunately an unfortunate event (or rather the gearbox is reversed on that car for some reason). Here you were truly from another planet, even more so than usual. I would say "bad luck", but I'm afraid someone else will get angry and do rage-quit.

I think you did not understand me correctly. I did not rage-quit, I quit because I don´t want to feel more frustration and anger on top of my "real-life" misery.
