Practice: 20:00 (30 mins)
Qual: 20:30 (15 mins)
Races: 20:45 (40mins)

Cars allowed: DTM2020

Time of Day Setting: 13:00
Weather: Dry

Start: Rolling start
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit-stops: one mandatory stop for four tyres

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the relevant Track Packs for this series
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.
(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this. [/quote]

Lol had fun race a few days ago in the DTM ranked race here in a 2016 car. Surprisingly easier than i hoped.

But tyres lasting the 40mins? definately not for me!

You need to make a pitstop to change tyres Mark so they won't be an issue.

Was looking good. not far off Geoff's pace, Spanner was faster, Stephen was not far behind then went off to avoid ramming Geoff under braking
then lost the back end and smashed into a fence. Too much damage to continue.

Firstly very bad luck to Mark, without the drive through you would have won that easily.

I could just about keep pace with Mark early on with the benefit of DRS & P2P & took the lead for a few laps when Mark had a quick spin. My pitstop was OK except for almost coming to a complete halt at the entrance whilst fumbling to hit the limiter button. After Mark's drive through I had a comfortable lead & although he was much quicker in the closing laps I still had a handy gap at the end.

Congrats to Mark & Stephen on the podium  clap clap & bad luck to Matt who also had good pace here.

Oh well...

I was knackered after that, the FFB is pretty strong, the track never gives you a rest....

After the spin I was only about 7 or 8 secs behind Geoff, and its easier to focus on someone in front so just tried to do what i can and close the gap as much as I could. The DRS was quite limiting where to use it, I used the P2P out of the hairpin down the back 'straight'

I saw Geoff enter the pit lane just as was going to so carried on for another lap, the pit stop went surprising well despite not knowing where the line was I got the speed down well for the entry and stopped in my box. It was just exiting i wasn't sure which line it was and what would happen to know when I was out of it....Elation for coming out ahead of Geoff but then saw the drive through!

Well done for being consistent!

@spanner, there is an option within RRE to semi automate the pitstops. if you opt for it you just need to make sure you slow down to the pitlane speed limit before you go over the pit entry line, then the game takes over and does the pitstop and guides you out, giving control back as you go over the pit exit line.

This was my first go on RRE since i got my new PC last week (SSD hard drive and geforce RTX 3060)! (my old one was nearly 11 years old and had a GTX750 card struggling to run triple screens), wasted some of the practice session setting preferences up in RRE. These cars are lightning quick and need a lot of concentration (and very gentle on acceleration out of the slow corners), i was not on the pace of the others but managed to get a good rhythm around the track and was enjoying being able to run in triple screens with all the eye candy turned up full

DRS? P2P? Not noticed those options.....  Roll Eyes

Drag reduction system - flattens the rear wing for more straight line speed
Push to pass - gives an extra horsepower boost for a few seconds

Both have a limit on how many times they can be used per lap & per race. Race leader does not get the use of either.

You need to map buttons to activate them.

After about 2 laps they are then enabled. IF you run the full dash you will see the count available to you and can only be used if you are behind someone. There was enough P2P to be used every lap. You have 3  uses for the DRS per lap, which is hard to work out where at this track!
