Password: see above

Welcome to the final round of the 1st UKAC GPL67 Series

Damage and fuel use:

100% damage
100% fuel use
0% Tire wear (This is actually far more accurate than the mods' built in wear rate and 'fixes' the BRM)
Drivers must complete 50% of each race to score.

With the above in mind you will want to treat the first lap or two very carefully while your tires warm up and you adapt to driving on a heavy fuel load.

The 1st lap will be moderated

As per the 1967 F1 scoring system, each driver will discard their worst 2 scores when the points are calculated at the end of the season (Done for you in LM2)

BoP will be as follows:

Lotus & Eagle = 40Kgs
Ferrari           = 30Kgs

There will be no success ballast.

Practice: 19:30 (45 mins)
Qual: 20:15 (15 mins)
Race: 20:30  (39 laps)

Track:
Kyalami
http://www.mediafire.com/file/alyx6l5jyhd7qed/kyalami1967.rar/file

Cars allowed:
3l 1967 F1 from the GPL67 mod.
I've put them on dropbox for now as the original download was apparently VERY slow:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/o719sdx2kohk668/AC%20GPL67%20V2.20.rar?dl=0

Instructions on installing the carset can be found in the 2nd post of the registration thread - here: https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=24972.msg480312#msg480312
You MUST follow these instructions in order to install and use the mod
:

Tim, you still haven't imported results from Monza. Just a reminder, since you've started a new race thread.

Lorenzo needs 11th place (and 50% race distance) to win the championship, in case Tim wins. If Tim doesn't win this race, then Lorenzo wins the championship no matter what else happens.

It's actually 10th; 11th only scores 15 points which would make us tie. I suspect the scoring system would default to most wins but as I used the GPL system for this series I'd rather play it safe and say 10th as I'm not sure what criteria it uses Wink

I think that would give me about the longest odds of victory possible given the poor turn out we've had lately...

I think attendance is the first criteria for tied scores, this is to encourage people to race I believe.

Back at Monza on Wednesday had fun, should have put some practice in as I found myself almost competitive towards the latter part of the race. Away up the top of Scotland from Tuesday on holiday so will miss three weeks racing. Have fun, sorry for my absence the last few races, internet problems now sorted.

I think server might be down again, it's not showing in the lobby.

Well, I see Lorenzo was on the server today, it's on live timing. But I still don't see the server in the lobby. Anyone else seeing the server?
I've already downloaded and installed the track again from the link in the first post, so don't know what else to do.

Now I see it, thanks Tim. Yeah, I had the track from before, but I installed it again, just in case it wasn't exactly the same version.

Had to pull out in quali because my pc was overheating causing graphic glitches although I'd have probably had a few glitches myself had I continued in this heat.

Fun series in parts but the more I drove the fezza, the more I came to hate it  Roll Eyes

Thanks Tim for organising and for all those who raced  Cool Looking forward to seeing what's in store for our next series.

Congrats to Lorenzo on the win and the championship.
I had a great fight with Tim for 30 or so laps. We even swapped places a few times, but I had no chance on the main straight, just not enough top speed.

Congratulations to Lorenzo for a practically perfect championship!
He could even have won all the races it there weren't some mistakes of others (like mine at Monza). Championship won with a good victory even in the last race. Difficult to do better!

As for my season: I took several time the Honda to the podium, so not bad. But a few too many messes, unfortunately.

Thanks to Tim for organizing the championship with the usual passion.

Congrats to Lorenzo for the championship win !!  clap thumbup2

It was a great series but unfortunately with a low turnout, even before summer start.  Undecided
Not a fan of the 'no tires wear' option though.
