Championship standings HERE

Grid/server capacity: 22

Track: Dijon-Prenois (GP)

Cars allowed: Any standard GTC-65 car (excluding the Ford GT40). Car roster HERE

Note: Driver's can only choose one car make per race. No repeat drives. Applies to Round's 11 to 15.

CUP STAGE C, Round 14

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (32 laps)

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit stops required: NO

Server: simracing.org.uk Monday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None.

If I had the chance to buy the stuff I really would love to race RRRE online. Well, maybe in the near future Smiley

Remember you only need to buy one car and not the whole set.

I'll say 2 things about RRE.

1. In my view it can be judged to be expensive.
2. The online racing system works fantastically well.

I just don't spend enough time on it to move my ranking up.

There is money to be spent, and it does build up after time
However, some of the cars in this series come free with the sim, so it could be worse
The cars (well, most of them) are good enough that I am happy to pay the price of a pint
and the tracks are also top quality, and are not so expensive that I care.

I do agree that it can be judged expensive, particularly if you are new to the sim, as there is a considerable amount of content compared to a few years ago when I first got into it. Cheapest way is to buy the car & track packs or just go the whole hog & buy the premium pack which gets you all the current content. There are also periodic sales with some huge discounts, there will probably be a Black Friday one next month. But as Matt says it is all of excellent quality & for me the best driving sim that I have tried.

Anyway, back on topic, I will most probably be taking the Elan for this race.

You have to admit that this game is expensive compared to the content, especially if you consider that you have to buy everything... We are far from AC from this point of view! Embarrassed

AC's approach is different, a moddable platform, they rely on modders to provide additional content. RRRE seems to be more in the direction of iRacing (minus the subscription) and to some extent rFactor 2 (paid DLCs).

Last time I tried RRRE was when they released the 3 90s F1 cars (V8, V10 and V12) and they had a free trial for a few laps. I even made an onboard video of those. Handling felt good, but can't really judge the sim without giving it a proper go on a proper track (the free trial one is just weird). I hope they improved the physics further by now.

Have you guys tried Project Cars 2 btw? I think with the right car parameters, it feels really good. It's the only sim I've tried with a VR set 2 years ago and it was an amazing experience.

Automobilista 2 uses the PC2 physics engine and seems promising too, but I haven't tried that one yet.

Actually H I think they improve the physics last month or maybe it was the FFB... hm, but there was a big update. I test one car at Malaysia and it was amazing. One of the default cars. I made a video as well.

Yes the FFB got a major overhaul recently, I wasn't too impressed initially but have grown to like it. The car physics are constantly getting updated, mostly for the better although some people are not so keen. I suppose people get accustomed to how something feels & don't like it being changed.

I maybe wrong but I seem to think you now have a choice of tracks to test drive cars on, rather than just the one.

I think RRE is up there in terms of the driving physics, feels absolutely as good as anything I have ever tried on my wheel. I'm a big fan, and do spend some time on the ranked servers when I can, if only there was more classic content and less wings.....

My own view, I would rather pay a game dev for dlc than buy the pay mods for AC done by part time modders that would have done it for free for GTL back in the day. Has to be guaranteed quality for it to be worth paying for. Just my opinion.

I'm with you Hristo, PCars2 is actually great fun to drive in my view, although RRE offers better granular feedback for sure.

ACC I also have, and have spent little time in it. Feedback not as good for sure, in fact a little lacking in my view.
