Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 286s

Perdy is leading the field round on the warmup lap, and well after parabolicahe is going slowly and weaving. Luke Mustoo I think assume that Perdy has slowed to pit limiter speed and is holding station behind. Suddenly Perdy seems to brake and apply the limiter all at once, which makes Luke brake to avoid contact. There is a concertina effect backwards and several cars make contact behind.

This would appear to be caused by a failure to follow the starting procedure. Perdy should really have slowed and engaged the limiter earlier, Luke should not have closed up behind until Perdy's limiter was on, and Perdy should not have braked. I don't think any of this was intentional though, so I propose to issue just a caution. Can I ask all drivers to make sure that they understand the starting procedure.

Server replay time: 400s

Perdy unfortunately cuts the chicanes many times, sometimes blatantly, which leaves me no option but to exclude him from the race.

Server replay time: 451s

Beholder repeatedly and blatantly cuts the chicanes. I am left with no option but to exclude him from the race.

  • John (Beholder)penalty — Repeated and blatant cutting — excluded

Server replay time: 602s

EdamSpeed runs into the back of Martin 'Blunder' Mason at the 2nd chicane. Martin appears to brake very early and hard so that he loses a lot of speed. He also drifts across to the middle of the track, leaving less room for Edamspeed to avoid him. In theory this should be a penalty, but the very early braking, the drift to the centre and the fact that Edamspeed took a drive through penalty make me feel that a penalty is a bit excessive.

  • EdamSpeedwarning — Rear end shunt
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 645s

Paul Richards gets a run on Adam Parle down to Parabolica. Adam takes a defensive line on the right and Paul tries to slide up the left side as they enter the corner. Paul does get a bit of overlap but it is very late and marginal. As they turn in, Adam slides a bit wide and paul moves across to the inside somewhat. Adams rear left makes contact with Pauls front right and Paul is bumped off into the gravel.

I think this was always a risky move by Paul, as Adam was quite likely to slide a bit wide. Had Paul been at least level then trying to go round the outside might have been on, but not here. As a result I'm calling this a racing incident.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 1781s

TinMan rear ends beholder at the parabolica.

Not too much to say in TinMan's defense here. He isn't clearly to one side in case Beholder brakes a bit early, and he brakes pretty much at the last possible moment to make the corner. This is a classic situation where a bit of caution was needed, perhaps braking earlier (but less) and positioning the car to one side. Either would have prevented the incident without giving up the chance of a pass on the next straight.

  • TinManpenalty — Rear end shunt — 2 places lost

Server replay time: 1816s

Exteg Martin almost takes Edamspeed out when rejoining after Lesmo 2. He is 90 deg to the track and drives straight on. Only luck prevents a massive smash. This is an extremely dangerous move - martin should have at least tried to get the car at more of an angle before rejoining, as well as looking very carefully for approaching cars. I have reduced the penalty because contact was narrowly avoided.

  • exteg martinpenalty — Bad Rejoin — 2 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 1954s

Rob B rear ends Edamspeed into T1. There isn't much to say here as Rob does little to help avoid the contact (just like TinMan).

Some good racing there - pretty eventful race...managed to finish 15th i think, but not been on GTR on a while.
I swapped places a few times with Reign Man, but i spun the porker, and i think he had better speed out of the corners - good stuff though!
Grats to podiums, and everyone who took part - the qually times were pretty tight from 1st to last  Cool

well... my first race online ever. Actually my third full race in GTR(1 and 2) ever Smiley
qualified 9th and finished 9th i think.

chose the wrong tires i think, 'cause at the end i didn't have much grip. I don't have much knowledge of these things so thanks to Ruskus for giving me a setup.

Not too bad for my first race... don't think i violated the rules and didn't ram into others. Smiley

Good race / Bad race.

Got nudged on the pace lap .... lets see the replay before anyone apportions blame shall we?

Solid start, got stuck a little behind Perdy as his tyres came up to temp, but after that I didn't have the legs to really challenge but I was close enough if something were to happen .... and he did when he lost the rear on the final turn.  Nothing I could do as the car got sideways and we ended up with a solid side to side contact.  That left me in second - liking this.

Perdy did a sterling job reeling me in (partly due to some untidy laps from me Sad) until another mistake let him by on what would become the lap to ruin my race.  Another poor exit let Dave alongside, and heading into the braking zone there was nothing I could do but let him go by .... and Beholder too I think.  Fuming at the mistakes to drop me off the podium, I missed my braking point and went off on the final turn .... dropping me to 7th.  After that it was time to sightsee a bit, nothing was going to happen.  Boring few laps to finish.

Enjoyed the first 14 laps - enjoyed trying to keep hold stay close-ish to you Perdy.

Hated the last 7 laps.

Thats the first race I haven't enjoyed in this league. It all started in qualifying was doing 50.4s before the race and couldn't hook one lap together at first. Finally get it sorted and am looking at about top 3 (wouldn't have got to Perdie) when a spun car is pulling away after a spin right in the middle of the parabolica. Racing I suppose.

Started about 7th or 8th. Sorry to Picnic at the start, turned left to avoid Beholder and T boned you as you were turned around. Managed to get up to 4th after one overtake and an incident or two. Catching the first three quite quickly. The 360GTC was no match for the RSRs down the straights but I was much quicker out of the corners. Got a good run on Adam's BMW out of Ascari and he pulled agressively but fairly to the right hand side of the track all the way towards Parabolica. Got a run on the outside which probably wasn't the best place to put your car in the opening laps while chasing the title and we came together and into the gravel I went. Probably my fault will look at the replay.

No bother still should be able to get somewhere half respectable I thought and then the fun really began.... Will need to watch the replay first before I do anything else and will follow through the proper channels but there was some serious blocking and a bit door banging. Oh well I am not the sort to want any penalties awarded but it was pretty bad.

Congrats to Luke for the win and Purdie for the championship lead, looking good now mate.

Forgot need to apoligise to team mate Chunky. He was chasing me and I stuck a wheel off on the exit of Lesmo one. Think I then clipped the right hand side barriers which sent me back across straight into him. Very sorry mate  Embarrassed

Firstly sorry to picnic  Huh don't know what happened at the start but it was me that clip you from behind  Embarrassed everybody seemed to brake infront and I didn't have time to stop.
Secondly apologise to reign man, I out braked myself into roggia and collected you  Embarrassed (still managed to have a good scrap at the end).
And no worries to Paul, you had nowhere to go M8 and I happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time  Wink
As for the race really wasn't good for me, managed to qualli well, but my set up for the race was rubbish and I would have been better off leaving as is.

Congrats to Luke for the win

Oh dear. Really sorry for that belt up the arse into the 2nd chicane, Martin Sad That caught me totally by surprise - I just braked in my usual spot, but for some reason the magnets wouldn't let me go, and I hit you. I served myself with a drivethrough on the next lap, but obviously that's of no consolation.

On a bad day for drivers whose names begin with 'M', sorry also to Mike Cooper, who I got into the rear quarter of, after a 'misunderstanding' at the Variante Ascari - it looked like yo were going wide, so I tried to take the inside line, but I clipped you. Sorry for the push. Did wait for you on the main straight though.

I totally hate that track Angry

fun race but a bit of a mare!

managed a suicidal quali lap! and had time in the last ten mins to hone my race setup and sort out pressures etc. It was all going so well! Then before the race I decided to re-calibrate my steering and throttle and brake....never done it before...so not quite sure why i did  Huh

On race start Luke pounced on me in my typical cautious first couple of corners. I sat behind him and the car kept snapping under braking, recalibrating the brake pedal had made it more sensitive! and then driving round the chicane the wheel knocked out of alignment, so drove for three laps with the wheel at an angle down the straight!................lol in all fairness this only effected my braking...

Luke did a great job pulling out a comfy lead...I had Adam sitting behind me keeping on constant pressure! Then i lost it in last corner, cud do nothing but sit there...i was at the side of the road and unfortunately it was still on racing line. Sorry Adam!!!!!!! I was paranoid it wud have broken your suspension but it seemed okay....

.....I was down to 4th, Dave made a slight mistake and caught back up to adam and had a great slip-streaming battle!!! Most fun all race!! i had a crap entry into that chicane and saw you run wide on exit, i was trying to get over and give u room to get back on.

great fun adam  Wink

The whole time i was looking in mirror to see where Paul R was...now i know  Sad had some crap luck in recent races

grats to Luke, drove a flawless race...with professional consistency!!  clap

Another poor exit let Dave alongside, and heading into the braking zone there was nothing I could do but let him go by ....

I was all set to let you by into Ascari as I was struggling on the brakes there - then I saw you in my mirror and knew I could take the line, to my huge relief.

My qualifying was utter carp, ended up 11th and miles behind Picnic's TVR. In theory the M3 is the car to have, and I had to abandon the 350Z for this race because it's so down on power, but the M3 is massively heavier than the Z and whilst I can do single laps nearly 2s faster I struggle to keep hold of it for a whole race. I just couldn't engage my qualifying brain and get dropping massive amounts of time in Ascari; never mind, a lowly starting position doesn't usually cost me much. Wink

Race started well and in the early laps I had a few good battles, especially with TinMan's M3, as various drivers chucked themselves off the road ahead. At one point I was actually past Perdy and into 3rd but managed to run off the track (did that a lot, never losing massive amounts of time but doing it far too often) and give the place back.

Then had a monster battle with Nev's RSR in the last few laps. The M3 is very quick in a straight line but it's weight means it struggles on the brakes and I was having to be very, very forceful braking for the first chicane and for Parabolica to prevent a pass. At one point I thought I might have cut the second chicane slightly trying to stay ahead but had a quick look at the replay and think I was clean. As we came to start the final lap we were catching Exteg Martin's lapped 360 GTC and I put my lights on hoping he would move over and let us by as a pair on the front straight, but it was not to be - which was fine and perfectly reasonable, but unfortunately he spun in the first chicane and Nev got through I didn't, which spoiled what should've been a thrilling final lap with my rears being well past their best. :'(

After that I had to concentrate even harder with some slight front aero damage and my rears shot to stop TinMan picking up 4th from me.

I'm really not sure whether I enjoyed that or not. The M3 just doesn't suit me, all that weight moving around means that you can't afford to let it step out of line or you lose a huge chunk of momentum gathering it back up. The battles were very exciting but I came away disappointed with my performance - and my loss of 3rd in the drivers championship.

Now I'm not sure what to do in the Endurance race. Huh

Just looking at the replay, loving the battle to keep Perdy behind me .... just had enough in the M3 to stop you getting by.  Shame I ballsed it up as it was a corker.

Just been reading the 'aliens' thread ( Wink ) and noticed some of the masters had the same problem I did - the little position display in the top right (yes, I use the HUD) was all over the place - showing me in all sorts of places from 15th downwards. It tended to sort itself out everytime I passed a timing beam, but was disconcerting not knowing if the game was going to kick me off any second, or whether it was registering my laps. Quite annoying.
