Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 120s

FreQ's speed on the pace lap was well in excess of what we recommend in the starting procedure. This created a potentially dangerous situation where the NGT cars were going almost flat out just to keep up.

  • Joss (FreQ)caution — excessive speed on the pace lap

Server replay time: 291s

Beholder disengages his pit limiter several tenths of a second before Dave Gymer who is ahead of him. Dave was tardy getting his limiter off by a few tenths but turn 1 was hectic enough without the additional risk posed.

  • John (Beholder)penalty — premature acceleration on the pace lap — 2 places lost (plus 1 for penalty points)
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

The GT2 has the same top speed at Monza as the Lambo, so it's just as much faster than the NGT, as the NGT's are to the G3.
So the GT2 is a few sec faster than the other NGT's, so eventhough they don't score points, they could still lead the race. People who are actually fighting for points then, who are leading for their class, will actually be driving in, let's say 3rd or 4th etc.

In Endurance the GTs will be comprehensively ahead of any G2s. NGTs don't get class positions during the race (boo! hiss!) so it doesn't matter.

Don't forget there were 24 drivers at the last race so that would have left only 2 more slots for Masters so there's only small opportunity for extra Masters to turn up.

NGTs don't get class positions during the race (boo! hiss!) so it doesn't matter.

Yes that's also very annoying in single player mode. "You've failed to score any points", says the pit blokey. Ya what?! I just won NGT you plonker.  Grin

Ok so ive received PM's on Endurance racing and general help...so i replied with a "few" words for the Academy and also some Masters dudes  Wink Cheesy

Quote from: Rad's PM to some good bloke, not Perdy as he wears blue stripped jerseys that his girl bought him Grin
Ok i checked your race results so far and i see you've done pretty well for only two races.

I see you not sure about pitsops (unfortunately that only comes from doing more races but a few things on pitstops id like to mention)

1) Calculate how much fuel you'll need b4 the race and setup in garage appropriately, the in garage one is a bit off at times.

2) When stopping i use manual pit control (saves time) ignition and stater buttons mapped as well so I have to turn engine off myself...i turn engine off just as I'm about to slow and hit my pitbox coz the dumb ass pit guys stand there for a while and wait for no reason after uve accepted the pitboard details! That can save 5 or more secs right there!

If you find ur tires are sh*t and ur a few laps before your stop, pit in...add a few laps extra fuel to compensate and use the new rubber's grip to be quicker than ur slower opponents at that same time...some ppl make the mistake to carry on abit too long with worn wheels but pitting two laps b4 them can gain u places when it all works out.

In endurance you'll be amazed how much time is lost/gained during stops (check the unofficial lapcharts to see)...in masters some guys make up 20 secs through efficient stops! So practice them!!! pit entry speed and getting the fueling and tires changing going as soon as possible..dont rush it...but with more races it becomes second nature.

In Endurance...again remember to lap consistently, leave the mistakes to others! Smiley Monitor your tire temps and DONT overdrive them be smooth make them last but keep the pace up. They will wear out and accept the fact you will be slower as they wear so again DONT overdrive them just be smooth.

Most of my race strats for 40 min stints are to go with medium rears and soft fronts as thats what most of the other aliens i race with do as well.

The trick to being fast over a race is not to drive harder but concentrate more, stay calm, make the right choices and the race will come to you...most ppl chase the race too much! Sad  Smooth in, fast out be sensible and the times will come down. Make it hard for them to pass but always be fair and concede if your beaten fair and square.

For me the ultimate endurance driver here is CJ...consistency and pace...its unbeatable!

Good luck in your race but most of all have a laugh!

Cheers
Rad

Might be usefull to some or just plain nonsense..but there you go  laugh

Important!

In the light of the large amount of corner cutting which has happened in the Masters and NGT Sprint races, for this race only, the Use Of Track Surface rules are relaxed so that GTR2 will be the sole arbiter of whether a corner has been cut.

That means that drivers have more leeway than normal to use the green painted areas as well as the curbs.

The rules about giving back a place taken (or successfully defended) as the direct result of a cut (as determined by the game, for this event) remain in effect.

In addition, a driver who causes an incident after losing control because of heavy use of curbs or green tarmac areas may be held accountable for that incident in circumstances which would normally be classed as a racing incident.

It had been defined what was originally allowed with pictures etc. The kerbs are placed to highlight the track but I know from previous online open forum races, the normal racing line is actually the opposite side of the kerbs, i.e well off the tarmac.

Don't think it's hard to understand but everyone uses the games lack of detection to their own advantage. I can't master it though but others have it down to perfection lap after lap

I have practiced corner cutting a bit and decided to try it out in the race. But only in limited amount on some kerbs ,I can gain almost a second if doing it right.
