Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 120s

FreQ's speed on the pace lap was well in excess of what we recommend in the starting procedure. This created a potentially dangerous situation where the NGT cars were going almost flat out just to keep up.

  • Joss (FreQ)caution — excessive speed on the pace lap

Server replay time: 291s

Beholder disengages his pit limiter several tenths of a second before Dave Gymer who is ahead of him. Dave was tardy getting his limiter off by a few tenths but turn 1 was hectic enough without the additional risk posed.

  • John (Beholder)penalty — premature acceleration on the pace lap — 2 places lost (plus 1 for penalty points)
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Qual 1:20:25(5 mins)Masters may join too
Qual 2:20:30(25 mins)
Race:20:55(42 laps)note: no warmup!

Drivers registered only for the Masters must take a G2 car (the 993 GT2)
Weather: to be decided just before the race based on real-world weather according to the Endurance rules.
Track: Monza GP 2004
Race Start Time 14:00
Pit Stops: All drivers must make a minimum of one pit stop. This must involve entering the pit lane at the speed limit, and coming to a complete standstill in the designated pit box. Notes:
(1) Please make sure you are fully aware of the UKGTR Rules - especially the speed limiter starting procedure and the rules about in-game chat messages.
(2) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page.
(3) You will not be able to join the server without the skin and ballast pack (see link above).
(4) Drivers should remember that they get only two free changes of car in each series.
(5) The race will be based on distance, not time, to avoid a premature end, and is 1 lap shorter than the Masters race. In the event of a wet (not changeable) race, the distance will be shortened to 39 laps.
(6) Masters drivers (those not registered for the Academy) may join from Qualifying 1 in G2 cars. A Masters driver who takes any other car will be excluded from the race.
(7) For this race only, the Use Of Track Surface rules are relaxed so that GTR2 will be the sole arbiter of whether a corner has been cut.

Qualifying pace in NGT will be around 1:49 or 1:50. Keep an eye out for the results from tonight's Masters race as that will give you a good idea of the sort of pace to expect from the faster cars.

...then add 10 seconds  Tongue

no, Dave's right...but i think NGT times should be in the 48's for RSR.

You going to be taking the Nissan for this then Dave or taking the M3 as you did last night?  It'd be nice not to have to catch you up after the pit-stop ..... again!  Grin

I haven't decided yet. I had thought that the M3 was the car of choice but I really didn't get on with it last night. Huh

Dave, any news on whether Masters will be allowed into this one in a G2 or G3?

I've had a really great time at Monza in the last two races so I'm keen for another go if possible  Grin

Dave, any news on whether Masters will be allowed into this one in a G2 or G3?

We've decided to allow Masters to join as 'second reserves' from a special 5-minute Qualifying 1 session, using only the 993 GT2 car (the only one currently in G2). The the final two races, if this is a success we'll probably allow G3 cars too, but not at Monza because of the large speed differences. Smiley First post updated to match.

The GT2 has the same top speed at Monza as the Lambo, so it's just as much faster than the NGT, as the NGT's are to the G3.
So the GT2 is a few sec faster than the other NGT's, so eventhough they don't score points, they could still lead the race. People who are actually fighting for points then, who are leading for their class, will actually be driving in, let's say 3rd or 4th etc.

IMO, giving the fasters drivers a slower car, could give some more interesting things. Now it's the fastest car, in masters hands.
