Didn't even make it round the first lap, really don't know why I bothered, absolute waste of time. I hope you don't blame me Bob. This is the moment of contact, as I was pulling ahead, on one side of the road, and you were recovering from touching the fence and not at your best acceleration. Tim, I was looking on the replay, your top speed was around 222kph, while mine was around 230. You were also shifting into 5th around 185, while I was doing it at around 200kph. I was using 9/41 ratio which says top speed is 237kph, so I was within that range. You may have been using a different ratio, perhaps even different individual gear ratios. Don't know what else could have been the reason for the top speed difference.

Not blaming anyone just one of those things.

Quite enjoyed that although these do or die tracks aren't really my cup of tea. The Escort was a decent drive once I tamed the tendency for the back to overtake the front and seemed to have an advantage over the other two cars so maybe a bit of nobbling needed if we use them for a series Well done Syd and Tim up front (looked like a good battle) and to those that managed to survive.

I too quite enjoyed these cars & the track. Initially the Escort seemed really tricky to drive but it turned out to be quite predictable in its handling & once I got used to what it was going to do it became good fun. Unfortunately I stuffed it into the barriers at the end of lap 1 which dropped me to last place & endowed the car with a modicum of understeer & I think limited my lap times as I was no where near as fast as I had been in qually. As the race went on I caught & passed Mark, Fab & Kimi who all retired shortly after, so I still came home last despite crashing the car again on the final lap. Congrats to the podium. Not sure how often I will join the AC races on Wednesdays as it clashes with GTL here & also the enduro races that RaceRoom run which I take part in occasionally. It depends on which seems to be the most fun.

Tim, I was looking on the replay, your top speed was around 222kph, while mine was around 230.
The gearing is some of it, but less then we thought - The big problem seemed to be that the tire pressures Pro-tire told me to aim for were massively high, after the race I went back and changed my pressures according to the standard AC app - I kept crashing as was getting tired but was at least half a second faster minimum once the pressures were changed I'm hoping to get back on quickly tonight to get a proper lap in before setting up for next weeks historic epic.... A shame that the race was oddly handicapped but it was great fun none-the-less. On the plus side I think I now understand what I'd been doing wrong in the Alfa all this time: Driving style (It doesn't like oversteer unlike the Ford) Tire pressures (at least 6psi too high!) Gearing(ish)

I also notice that despite very different sector times Tudor and I have managed the exact same official fastest lap on the server

Sounds like your Pro Tyres app is misbehaving Tim....missing the relevant LUT maybe? I just checked my Alfa setup and Pro tyres had indicated 29 to 33 when I tested. Interesting that we had exact same fastest laptime, just shows the Escort is even quicker than I thought it was

It turns out we don't have a Lancia in the database - results will follow when we do

Interesting that we had exact same fastest laptime, just shows the Escort is even quicker than I thought it was The app runs fine - but checking the LUT file for the Alfa it has optimum grip set at 38! Digging deeper it seems I still have version 1.4 installed and protires is now on V2.... I've updated and will have to see what change has occurred after taking the dog out. In theory it will work directly from the cars data folder though so should be right. For what it's worth the testing we did prior to the Ford V Alfa season suggests that the 2 cars are nearly identical apart from in tire life. I already found I could go much faster with the right tire pressures, Slightly shorter gearing should help too. I'll be doing some laps to check tonight as I won't have time to prepare the server anyway, will do that tomorrow now

Well, that answers the lap time issue But oddly I still lack Syds straight line speed, next job will have to be checking the pedals, but AC seems to think they are seeing full throttle..

Results are up If you can send me your setup I'd really appreciate it Syd. Updating Protyres has given me a working guage that agrees with the stock app, but I'm still about 7 or 8kmh slower than your car on the straights and have run out of things to try (Slightly irrelevant as I'm now lapping over a second faster than in the race but still, it seems odd) Looking at our cornering speeds though, it's possible that you're just running too much pressure Vs nominal so get a good speed bonus but can't actually turn once your tires heat up - certainly in the race I was catching you like crazy through the tighter corners. Hope you lot enjoyed that as I really want to bring these cars back at some point

Here's the setup I used: https://www.mediafire.com/file/rkic0l8t1iu47yg/bremgarten.zip/fileI don't know which version of Alfa I have. I didn't install it for the race, I had it from before. Tough I assume server wouldn't let me join if it wasn't the same as on the server.

Seems that the 60's GTC mod from Bazza is close to release. If it drives as good as it looks maybe worth an outing? https://www.f1classic.net/viewtopic.php?p=1638#p1638
