These cars are new to me as well. I tend to drive them like the 55s... smoothly and gently on the gas. Please join us as you're not alone in finding them a challenge.
I agree that these cars are a challenge Phillipe. Probably the most powerful cars that we have in GPL.
Just as in real life they have far more power than the tyres can hope to contain ( except the Porsche, but even that car is powerful ).
The biggest problem with the default settings that I get is snap oversteer out of corners, so either try a higher gear ( maybe 2nd instead of 1st? ) or change your gearbox ratios so that it limits the sudden surge of power. Braking early is to be recommended, as the speed of these monsters is deceptive and running too deep and wide is easy.
These cars have enormous torque and avoiding wheelspin out of slow corners is the secret, just as was required in real life. Once the car is straightened up you can pour in the gas and hold on tight, because the horizon will be pulled towards you very quickly
.
PS.
I will be testing the Porsche later and if I can build a safe setup, I am happy to share it with anyone who is struggling. I also have an old setup for the Ferrari which is good for 1:42 lap? with some work it might be a little faster? and I am also going to test the Lola 222.
I am limited to the 3 slower groups and presumably the less powerful cars, but there is not that much difference? But, as Axel suggests, maybe select a car with less torque that is comfortable to drive? because for sure there will be many retirements with bent cars and simply finishing will be a success.
