Will get practicing!?

Does anyone have any tips on stopping the Escort doing a 180 under heavy braking!?
I have been playing with the set up but havn't got anything I'm really happy with!?
or is this just a characteristic of this car!? ( or the driver!!  Grin )

Looking forward to it!!

Brake while the car is travelling in a straight line.

Increase the coast differential to 100% (or close to 100%), reduce the brake pressure and move the brake balance forward. That should hopefully go some way to helping your problem.

Also don't shift down gears too soon (i.e. let the brakes do the work rather than the engine).

That's the single most important one. You may also find that gently blipping the throttle manually (even with autoblip turned on) as you go down into the lower gears helps.

Not really evenly matched - I never was even close to the times I did with the Escort driving the 914. But that said I only drove the 914 a couple of times and I drive the Escort as often as possible.
From the Comet leauge I remmber the Trois Riviers race where in the test race most were in the Escorts and in the proer race most were in the 914. The qually lap difference was about 0,8 sec in favour of the Escort - I reckon that is a good benchmark on the speed difference of the cars.
The Escort is almost spot on the speed of the slow CSL (Alpina). The difference is that the Escort is far more lively, but will blow the Engine, the CSL is rock solid in that area.

I think they are pretty close, with the Escort having a slight edge. Two different cars so one is always going to have something on the other. But also one car suits one driving style and the other suits another driving style. We shall see, but I'll probably take the Porsche as I don't like the Escort particularly.

I'll be there for this one, partly 'cause I love taking the Escort round Donny, and partly to test how things are running on my system.

Just reinstalled my OS etc last night onto a new primary HDD.  It wasn't the MOBO (although it did need changing in any case), not the GPU (tried another card in there), so hopefully that'll be the end of my fps problems.

Anyway, fingers crossed.  See you all there.
