Round 1 of the Lamboghini Huracan Super Tropheo!

A long-standing unwritten law states that all series containing Italian cars must start and end in Italy Wink
So to get the series off to a good start we're heading for Mugello - there are no mandatory pitstops so your strategy is entirely up to you.
Tire warmers will be enabled so that we don't have to go through the pain of a warm-up lap and rolling start.

Practise: 19:45 (45 mins)
Qual: 20:30 (15 mins)
Race: 20:45   (40 minutes)

Cars allowed:

Lamborghini Huracan ST

Track: Mugello

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Weather: Clear
Start: Standing
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: normal
Pit-stops : none

Server track settings:
SESSION_START=98
RANDOMNESS=2
LAP_GAIN=0.007%
SESSION_TRANSFER=80

Damage: 70%

Password: see above

LIVE TIMING: http://stracker.simracing.org.uk:50041/lapstat

PLP App - Not used in this series. Cutting will be monitored on replay and penalties issued for excessive cutting.

Notes:
(1)PLP App - Not used in this event. Cutting will be monitored on replay and penalties issued for excessive cutting.
(2)Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.
(4) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.

You know more people would probably join in and race if it wasn't like a graveyard in here  Wink

12 people have been on the practice server and I know you're all a friendly bunch, so it makes no sense to me that no one posts any message here...

cya all tonight anyway  Smiley

I don't know the meaning of practice  Roll Eyes therefore can someone tell me whether any of the compounds of tyres are able to do the full race duration please (and I know what you lot are like, please don't just say yes Wink)

The hard tyres should last race distance but the Lambo does like to heat the rear tyres if you start sliding it around so TC will probably help that. Not sure about mediums  Undecided I found them too easy to overheat practicing for the trial race a few weeks ago but that was on a twisty track and in the end I didn't race so didn't get to test them properly.

Cars are pretty challenging to drive especially for the first few laps until the tyres get up to pressure/temp (for me anyway) but should provide some decent racing as long as no-one gets too excited at T1.

Not sure why there are a lack of posts on this thread, maybe everyone is a bit shy  Smiley

Remember we have tire warmers (Providing I've ticked the correct button!) so you won't have too much sliding around in the opening laps.
Or rather if you do then it's entirely your own fault Grin

I'll be honest I haven't practised enough to answer on tire compounds - I think mediums will make race distance but are likely to be pretty meh at the latter part of the race. So it's a bit of a strategy choice, if you think you can make sufficient gains early on a faster tire then risk it - but you'll be working harder than someone on hards by the end of 40 minutes.

With that said I think there are some circuits in this series where Mediums may actually be a solid option.

I'd pick hards today,  medium get quite hot in the fast turns - and a couple of loose moments and they overheat and off you go

Hi guys. My recovery is going steady but slowly. I still don't have much strenght in my leg. I can barely operate my car, so racing for 40 min is too much atm.
I will try some praccy the next days and hope tot attend next weeks race.
Happy racing all.

This'll teach me a lesson - I copied the last event here and as a result have only just noticed that we're starting later then usual as a result  Embarrassed

I'll stick to the thread timings tonight but will have to make sure that next week is our normal times.

*edit*
I've just started the race server but with an extra long practice to try and save on confusion.....

Anyone want my setup to try?  (not you Tim  Tongue)

It's a little loose coming off the brakes so not perfect,  but maybe it'll help someone find their way with this car for future races Smiley

This was my race setup last night   http://maxveloce.com/stuff/srou/MV_Lambo_ST_Mugello_v2.zip

Fun race that, 40 minutes of having a flying gasket on my rear bumper and numerous passing attempts  Shocked

Sorry about the contact out of T1 Tim, it all got a bit out of shape and I couldn't really not use that bit of track, but it seemed right to let you catch back up and resume the fight  Grin

I'm definitely going to have a bit more practice,  some laps I was just missing my marks and I put that down to rustiness...
