Another round of Vertigo fun races.

Date: Monday 27th June
Time: Practice at 8PM (Set to one hour), Qualify2 at 8:30-9PM (Depending on Numbers/Votes)
Cars Allowed: Gillet Vertigo Only
Track: Estoril
Session Length: 20mins Qualify, 20mins Race
Server: Picnic server will be used.
Password: usual practice password

We will try and run 3 short races again with only the first one having qualifying in it and the other two races straight to race. The game seemed to reverse the finishing order from the first race for the grid of the other two races which worked quite nicely so I think it would nice to stick to that.

I'll be there if I'm not totally and utterly knackered after the weekend and my first day at work for two weeks. Wink Cheesy

At Glastonbury for the weekend, but if I'm back (and showered Wink) in time I'll definitely join up.

Completely agree with all the above points - and knowing which track we will be racing on so we can practice can only help towards this.

So will we be seeing you at the next Vertigo/Elise/Whatever race. If you really do seriously suck after having a few days to pratice (which I doubt) you can always pull out at just before qualify, at least you will have met some of us and also had a little bit of experience of moving over for faster drivers (when your actually doing it you realise that its slightly more complicated than you may think).

Is that the sound of a gauntlet I can hear hitting the ground??

Yes you will be seeing me, next monday at the next Vertigo meeting (I`m sure you cant wait  Grin)

I have got no illusions about how difficult it will be driving online with you faster drivers.

Cheers

I shall be making my UKGTR debut.

Is there anything technical I need to know before I log on ? (I already know the middle pedal is the brake!! Cheesy)

Looking forward to meeting you in the pits.

Cheers

Yeah, sorry Rob, we can only dissappoint you now Smiley

Use the pit lane limiter, read up about how we start the race, dont chat during Q2 and the race, easy.

If you put in a bit of practice you could probably easy beat me, I've hardly driven the Vertigo at all, or Estoril, There are loads here who are much quicker than me, even if I do practice like a loon.

I have got no illusions about how difficult it will be driving online with you faster drivers.

If you do poorly, you'll improve no end and love it, if you don't you'll love it anyway :-)

I'll be there, providing NTL haven't got those monkey's in again which pull my cable out every three mintues.

NTL is great when it works and total crap when it doesn't.
You can go for months with 100% service and then lose it for 3 days in a row.

Yeh NTL nearly always works, I think cable/phone are two of the services which when you lose you are most emotional about. I guess NTL's perception of being shit is mostly governed by the fact that when it does break, there's zero point in trying to report it, because they have no fault line that is free and you'll be there for hours. It is clear that thier staff (both tech support and otherwise) aren't really the most talented either tho. Hence the fact that I go through an Open Proxy (which I reported to them a year ago) which means that Slashdot bans me from posting, and Google sometimes refuses to servce me without putting up one of those "what does this picture say" things.
