Season 39 – 1967 F1 WORKS Grand Prix – Round 3 – Lime Rock Mountain
For Round 3 of the 67F1 Works championship we will race on the Lime Rock Mountain track which is an imagined extension to the real Lime Rock track. It incorporates many of the original features but the longer lap has a few more challenging corners, longer straights and provides an opportunity for the faster cars to unleash their power.

Please read the season39 general rules on the championship standings page.

Please read the specific rules for 67 Works series on the 67 Works championship standings page.

Too bad L1 crash, but there is always someone on the back that could slow down in time, but he didn't. I got damage and after some laps engine lost power and at half distance died.

I tangled with Doni on lap 2 (I've looked at the replay and we were side by side but I'll submit a report), sorry about that but thankfully we could both recover without any apparent damage. We then had a race long battle, albeit not together most of the time, but I was watching Prib and we were very evenly matched. I was ahead at the half way point but I out braked myself at Hind and Doni was through. I tried very hard but I couldn't close the gap.

I was almost there, in the 3rd wave of the podium, but... disconnects missing 2 laps. But it was a predictable trajectory, a heavy rain starts here in Andradas and all the drivers in the city had problems.
When the rain started, very strong 10 minutes before starting the qualy, I changed my strategy, my race would be a Ferrari, but with such bad weather, I decided to risk a few coins and go with Cooper.
But in the end, it was fun.
Congrats podium and congratulations to the Cooper boys for the 3rd and 4th positions!

Well, it happens. I Don't think I was agressive or not cautious enough (respectively) in both my incidents.

I'll be back stronger at Zolder  tank

I might have been involved in starting the whole turn 1 chaos. I had a nice setup and a reasonable race pace, so I was hoping for a good race.

I had a great start off the grid and with such a long run to T1 I was picking up a few places, which was good, but I  knew that negotiating that long, uphill turn was going to be congested. So I opted for a drive very wide around the outside hoping to avoid the other cars.

Then my world turned upside down. I have had a quick glance at the replay and from my side I think there was some warp involved as I could see no contact.  I was upside down in the middle of the track so I hit the Escape key as quickly as I could to get out of the way.

Sorry to whoever I tangled with and to anyone who was compromised in the aftermath.

What a shame this track never saw daylight. It's a joy.

Was fighting with Tristan for first until he clipped me and crashed.
Had a brief fight with Uli, we had a great side-by-side moment through T1-T2-T3 but unfortunately he got wide.

See you next time out.

By the way, does no one here use TeamSpeak anymore? No one was there yesterday night...

Grats to our podium finishers especially to Syd.  My, but you came up trumps there, didn't you?  Nifty venue, too.  I quite like the extended section.

I had a good race Lap02 notwithstanding.  It was great fun trying to chase down Phil and only got the place when he out-braked himself at Hine Hairpin.  From there on in, it was just managing things to the finish.

Some unfortunate retirements thanks to shunts and Jonny's disconnect.  Bad luck there, fellas.

Now to highlight Lap02.  I have submitted an accident report and will largely duplicate its contents here.  I am just astounded that Phil's BRM got position on me as we accelerated off The Esses.  I saw him disappear in mirrors left but did not realize that he came off the corner like a rocket.  Since when did BRM fit a 'Push to Pass' button?  Smiley  Not seeing him, I did not think he could make a bid and never did see his BRM right up to the point of contact.  Suddenly, KABOOM!  What the Hell just happened?  Where the Hell am I?  After a short flight and wild ride, I seemed to end up in an elevated area which with the shock of the collision combined with some element of disorientation as to just exactly where I was lead me to commit the cardinal sin.  I pulled down off this elevated area right into the path of Leo who was seriously delayed from the T1, Lap01 business.  T-boned by Leo who had no chance to avoid and what's far worse, it eliminated him on the spot.  My Cooper gyrated but after finally getting it pointed straight, I saw an inverted Brabham off to my right.  Groan...  Did I do that?  Yup.  Sigh...  No amount of apology can rectify that and I offer up sincere and profound apologies to both Phil and Leo.

I definitelly lucked in to that podium, but no complaints Smiley
I don't know how I managed to get by that l1 t1 mess unscathed, but I did. When the dust settled I was 4th. I didn't fight Johnny O too hard when he caught me 10 or so laps into the race, so I was back in 5th, but with a pretty large lead over Phil. From that moment I did not look at pribluda untill the end, and I didn't make any mistakes. Not sure if those two are related. When I looked up to see where I finished, I saw 3rd Smiley
Staying on the lead lap was pretty good too, as Yannick was so fast.
Now I got the points to take Ferrari the rest of the season Smiley
Congrats Yannick and Ulli on the podium.

After an exciting practice with the better end for me a bad start followed (= P3), but the first laps behind Tristan and Yannick were great racing, even some laps with Yannick later on.
When I was fighting with him I got into the green at T3 what was the end of fighting at all.
So there was nothing better to do than to carry the car back home.
Thanks for fair lapping
nice track
Congrats to you Yannick and Syd

Then my world turned upside down.

Sorry Clive, couldn't avoid you and ended up giving you the 'good news' which flipped you over, seemed somewhat disproportionate.

In the early stages my race wasn't too bad but after about 8 laps I have a few offs, not sure if this damaged the car but as the race wore on I had more and more crashes/spins, seemingly unable to keep it on the track.  Tonight the BRM definitely earn't it's title as the Tank, each time I smashed the boundary I thought I was done for but no, the car held together!  Suppose I was trying too hard after being excited to find a setup that I liked and managing to qualify mid-grid.  In the end I benefited from the misfortunes of others to be able to finish P6.

Cheers,

Bob.
