Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 1373s

Claus Juel has been chasing Paul968 for several laps and gets very close during the Stadium section. As Paul slows for the penultimate corner Claus lightly contacts the rear of Paul's car. The contact is small but is enough to send Paul's car into a slide. Paul stays on track but lsoes some speed, which allows Claus to overtake around the outside of the final turn and Claus then pulls ahead on the straight with the better run he gets.
The pass was only made possible because Paul was slowed by the contact and really Claus should have given back the place on the s/f straight.
I am giving a one place penalty to reflect this.

Cheers Picnic.

Yes, but I'd like Simon to confirm that.

He mentioned the last two corners in his ADMIN announcement during qual.

Reading the announcement I would interperate that as between the last 2 corners.

Vertislow isn't fun at all..although a real challenge. My quali was a nightmare, had wheel issues and left and rejoined 5 times i think tryhing to fix it in windows. So started last.

Race went ok, just pushed like mad and working way up the field when i caught up to Aaagrams quick M3 (on the straights at least  Wink) and was looking for a gap into the stadium when he lagged real bad and froze on the apex..i hit him hard but nothing happened to my car  Huh

Other than that not fun really.

Just to make it clear, I know what the rules say, but something Simon said on the mod's forum makes me wonder if he might think the line after the last corner must also not be crossed.

A tough race that, all those hard turning corners buggered my neck up again  :'(

Qualied 14th and was glad to be in front of about 4 or 5 cars for a change this season  Roll Eyes  angel

Race start was good with a whole pack of us battling around nose to tail. All went well for the first few laps and i got myself upto 11th.
But then a recovering Leuven put me under some intense pressure and like the true pro that i am...i binned it Roll Eyes Embarrassed...b'ah, basically i got my front left onto the inside curve in the arena area and the car just pivoted around that tyre putting me into a slow sideways spin and i rejoined dead last  :'(
I then drove like a man possessed, ie head spinning whilst shouting expletives Grin I caught Paul and then Jan after a few laps and then chased after Madd-rip. I felt like i was absolutely rinsing the car to get it through the corners with any pace and closed right up, causing Madd to start getting slippery in the corners until he eventually lost it and i scraped past his spining fezza.
Eventually finished 11th? but it could have been a place or two higher if it wasnt for that damned spin. Sad

Got to say battling for a midfield no points position every week is starting to get a little demoralising, maybe with all these aliens now present we ought to increase the points tally? Undecided

Congrats to the podium chaps alien surrender

I'm pretty sure he said before the last corner Paul.

He said:

Quote
In qualifying I watched half the field go wide lap after lap on the final turn past the white line. And after I'd posted a warning about it no-one changed their line. It's not on.

That could mean before or after (to me anyway).

As far as I could make out it was the last corner before turning onto the S/F straight, if you drove wide you could get some extra speed in the run up

The specific rule for this track concerned the curbs between the final two turns, where you can run wide on to the curbs and even onto the drag strip beyond to get a faster entry into and exit from the final turn.

See also my post in the temporary rules thread. It appears that some people have decided to exploit what they consider to be a loophole in the rules. They may regret that decision. Undecided

Please don't start a hefty discussion on it here; submit any incident reports and breaching the temporary rule as a matter of urgency and I'll review them as they come in to see what clarifcations if any are needed for the final two races at Hockenheim.

The points most definitely need to reach further down the field if SRUK expect people who can't progress to finishing in the early teens to stay motivated and carry on attending races.

Re: the corner instructions- is a short/sharp top down video worth making of what is the acceptable limit of these special corners?

I don't understand Paul? Both you and Mark scored points in this race, as did everyone who finished, so why do we need to change anything?

The idea of a video (or at least some pics) is a good one - anything to make the issue clearer will help IMO.

I'll PM you Paul- I've explained it a fair few times and I'm sure everyone is bored as hell with my "issues" by now Wink
