I made couple mistakes in the beginning and for the rest of the race I tried to hold much faster Nappe behind.

I am not sure but i think Geoff needs to have 11 point - 10 for winning the smaller class + 1 for winning the while race.

This was another amazing classic between me and Geoffers. This time we were with different cars and it was so much fun. He was faster through the corners and i was faster on the straight.

I made very good lap during the qualy and was able to take the pole position. At the start Dan made the best move and took the lead. I lost another place to Geoff but was just behind. Soon with more power on the straights and with some slip stream i was able to retake the lead after Dan let me pass because there was a contact on turn 1 at the start.

After that Geoff was able to overtake Dan and the gap between us was 3 seconds. During the next 20 laps he was a little bit faster. He almost catch me when i went a little bit wide, into the grass and i lost the lead. After the middle of the race now i was faster and i was flying on the road catching Geoff little by little. I needed to be just half a second closer to him to catch him with slip stream when my rear tires were now too worm. After few mistakes Geoff was not without a reach and i had to take second place.

But i am happy because we had another classic and it was a lot of fun as i said earlier.

Grats Geoff, grats Dan and all finishers.

DD has pretty well covered our race at the front above. Dan took the lead at T1, DD got past him on the straight but by the time I had found a way past Dan, DD was already over 2s ahead. Chased DD for a few laps gradually closing the gap & took the lead when DD ran wide onto the grass at the long double right. I managed to open up a 2s lead before I got one of my momentary game freezes & lost nearly a second.
It was close for a few more laps but I nearly threw my lead away by accidentally shifting up to 5th through that double right. Just kept the lead on the straight & then got a breather when DD had a moment & disappeared from my mirrors, so was able to take it a bit easy over the remaining laps.

Good fun but tough race on this track where it is easy to overdo it & fall off.

Congrats to DD & Dan.   clap clap

As I don't think myself really good on Division 3 cars and especially not good on 1600-2000cc cars, I did not expect much. When testing the track for the championship, I found myself really struggling with Capri so 2 hours before qualifying, I decided to give a go for the Escort. Did almost nothing to default setup, just adjusted the final gear and fired it up. While I did find it more my liking, I still was going to start the race with "I get 3 points from starting" attitude.

In qualifying I noticed lack of other Escorts and huge number of GTAm's. Nor did raise my expectations when I saw Geoffers' set up Alfas getting regular almost 10 km/h higher top speed in the end of the main straight than my BDB... So, "3 points secured" -attitude continued. I did my PB in Qualifying, this time with optimal amount of fuel, so I thought it being as fast as Escort could go on my hands. Slight hope raised when Daz tried to join several times with BDB. That might signal that Escort is not that bad after all.

So the race started. I was expecting quite lot of hassle in first lap and there was. however with some careful wait and see I was able to survive first lap. The thing I was not expecting was my own capability to improve lap times on each lap. Continuously every lap all the way up to lap 7. While Suti felt that I was close and faster, I was in fact almost exactly as fast as him and to be able to do that, I needed to drive race of the year. I eventually shaved 0.2 seconds off my qualifying time which I thought to be absolutely best I could do here.  Of course I knew that I was always so close that even small mistake could have made the table turn, but I was really happy to my own performance here, so it did not matter that much. And most likely I drove better as hunter than I would do as hunted. Smiley

I was enjoying every lap. Good event with better result than I expected. Smiley

And so it goes. After 250+ laps of practice, tweaking, and such, I spin out at the start. OK, I am used to being last, and then at the bridge before the S or chicane dipsy doodle, I hit it square on, and blow the engine. Can't get back to the pits, snd so I am out. I get really frustrated but I guess that's because I am still a rookie. Like the song goes, "Oh, well". hang Quad-P
Robby when you are last on the grid with 9 sec. gap from pole sitter there is no need to force the start spinning wheels in a hurry to pass someone at start, take it easy and all goes well  Smiley

Sound like a great challenge. For some reason Targa is going with less frames here. Maybe you don't use full graphics settings?

At first, check that you are using track Available at Altbierbude: http://www.altbierbude.de/component/option,com_remository/Itemid,26/func,fileinfo/id,1447/lang,en/
I use the Affinity tool in background with all cores activated, no vsync (from GTL 3D Setup) and Shadows low. Other than that, I have everything full.

I am using 2560x1440 resolution.

And of course, the 4GB patch, but that's probably something that everyone already use.

Hopefully this helps. Smiley Affinity Tool with no vsync (vertical sync) seems to make most of the difference. And it helps on first time load time of very long tracks as well.

Yes, the only thing that differs here are the shadows. They are at medium. It's strange. I will try again soon. Smiley

I've always found shadows to make the biggest hit in GTL on every GPU I've run it on, and that includes the 3080 that is in the tower now.....
