Tried a few laps today & although a shorter version of the real TT course, it is still good fun & quite easy to drive, much easier to learn than the Nordschleife or Targa Florio . A lot of it is flat out in these cars obviously more so in an 850 than a 1000.

Yep, it was easier to learn than I feared, but I'm still getting myself into trouble after 10 lap or so in the fast stuff as not all of it is flat all the time....

it is like a condensed version of the Mountain circuit, some of the landmarks are there but not all, and it does have a mountain section that can be recognised, with corners like Verandah and Creg-Ny-Baa being obvious. Very well done I thought, but fearsomely difficult to completely nail a lap I feel. Should be entertaining I think!

It's length seems to be scaled half of real course. Sort of 2 meters in reality is 1 meter in this in game track.

Unfortunately I have to miss tonight's race due to an electrical problem in a part of my house,
which led to the non-functioning of my heating system.
So I'll spend the evening in the only room with separate heating possibility - an oven - watching TV,
as there's no internet connection an no IT-equipment.  Tongue

I hope that a technician will come tomorrow to solve the problem.

Have fun guys.

That's a shame Kurt. Hope to see you on Weds. I just did my first laps. It's very easy to drive. As Geoff said - it's almost flat out the whole lap, you just need to memorize few difficult and dangerous corners. Should be fun.  Smiley

Very short race on a track I was quite enjoying.  Sad

Only got as far as Union Mills, had one of my brief game freezes just as I was changing direction causing me to clip the wall on the right, car speared across track to the left, hit the wall sending me back across the track again. Fortunately I didn't hit anyone but the car came to a halt with two wheels over the edge & toppled into the void.

Congrats to Suti, Fulvio & Lasse.  clap clap

Very long race...at 7 lap I had to park aside to run in the bath   laugh
Lost about 100 sec., but still had 55 sec. gap to Lasse, prostatite doesn't help to have a short pee-box  wheelchair
Next time I'll have to set the rig to solve these problems  laugh
In the end I was almost blind and risk to binned it last lap.
On the first lap I followed DD for a while, but then he disappeared from standing  Huh
Next race!

What I can say... It was exhausting 2.5 hours. Yet the class win was complete surprise. As in Qualify I was over a minute behind Geoffers and he was in Mini too! I bit panicked and shortened the gearbox quite bit to get more top speed time. Probably bit too much. I also was terrified watching 1000cc guys blasting thru the woods. For some reason little voice in my head said that surviving might be the key here.

In race I thought to be running 2nd place in smaller class and had to watch Tony all the time. Tony was faster in most of the track, but in that long up hill section my (too) short gear ratios really shined. 5 laps with first full tank, then refuel to full and in the end of lap 8 full tank again with new set of tires. I was doing replays and logs to ServerStats when I realized that Fulvio was running 1000TCR, not 850TC and that I won the small class.  Shocked

Note: after a small discussion with Tony, I decided that phspok / MattR loses all his points from this event. He got DQ from in game race marshals while driving a car that is in class in which he has been driven already 5 times. I and Tony also had a quite few occasions in which we were able to study his driving a bit too close distance.

Oh hell what a race. I was expecting some dnfs but not over half of the grid. I got second covid vaccine in the morning and side effects struck during the race. I couldn't have driven any further, I was scared of every corner and I could barely keep car on track on last laps.

Grats Suti, surviving was most definitely the key. Job well done!

What a shame, was really enjoying that, and just felt I had learned the track mostly by the time I had done the first 2 laps. But, on lap 4, had a moment that involved catching a kerb in a 3rd gear corner, and it flipped me through a hedge/wall. Spent 3 minutes or so trying to find a way back through, but then found a void very close to the track edge and that was the end of me. I was really annoyed, as I felt I had the pace and strategy to take this one, after having a bad round last time. But it wasn't to be. Might be a little more generous of the track makers on these long laps to have the odd space here and there to get back on with....

Grats to all the finishers.
