Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 500s

Chunky is hit from behind by Darren whilst braking for the Sachskurve.

This was only the third flying lap of an 80 minute race, and Darren appears to have completely missed his braking point and broke barely before the 50m board (and not 150-160m out as his report claims).

I'm satisfied that this was a simple error and not a very badly judged passing attempt gone wrong but Darren's response to the incident report suggests that he simply never looked at the replay, something which is crucial when learning from our mistakes.

Server replay time: 810s

Chunky taps the rear of Dave Gymer going into the Einfahrt Parabolika, spinning him round whilst Picnic and Don also go by. Chunky then slows down and allows all three back past him, and for this gentlemanly conduct the penalty is reduced.

  • Chunkypenalty — rear ending Dave Gymer — 0 places lost

Server replay time: 925s

Dave Gymer is following Don and Munkez into the Kurzanbindung. Munkez is a lap down and fairly unpredictable, so Dave is keeping a repsectable distance and watching to see how Don will deal with him. Chunky, behind Dave, doesn't account for the situation ahead of Dave and brakes as normal, piling into the back of Dave who is going slower than normal in the middle of the track, spinning him into the gravel.

Chunky then waits for Dave to rejoin.

What a nightmare!
Sorry to Picnic to whom I touched going into Sachs on lap 4/5, thought i would be able to squeeze into the gap you left inside, but when you closed the door I had nowhere to go! Like i said sorry for the touch, i was glad you kept it under control...
Then 2 laps later going into Sachs again the throttle stayed open as i broke and ploughed into the tire wall causing big damage! limped back to the pits for a 240 second pitstop and rejoined right in front of Don being chased by Giz i think. Knowing i was quicker thought if i could stay in front i could pull away but ran wide before the approach at mobil kurve and Don slipped through.
2 laps later squeezed past Don to un-lap myself after a couple of front runners but again the throttle stayed open going into Sachs..... it was here i thought it was dangerous to carry on incase of causing a rear end shunt so pulled out :'(

hope to get all sorted for the last race,

munk

Well done to everyone great race.

Good battle with Freq for most of first half and just like the other day in masters caught a g2 car coming out of bend and had to lift off only for person behing me to get the run on me and pass.

I did not think you were coming Freq and just as I turned in you were there inside me. Sorry about the slightest of nudges that spun you around, I could not miss. I thought it was only fair to wait and allow you first place rightfully.

I ran the exact same set up the other night in masters and finshed with plenty of fuel. After amking stop and doing a few laps I realised I did not have enough. Even short shifting I was still using way too much fuel. I was using more than one laps worth according to the display even when taking my time. Very strange

Suprised I came out back out in first after pit stops but I accidently shifted down a gear too many going into first bend and lost it allowing freq back in the lead. After that even if i did not need to make another stop I was nevr going to catch Freq.

Well done to all

Pretty quiet race in 3rd for me. Never had the pace to get closer to Freq or Brian, excepet when they spun. Was surprised to be gifted 2nd near the end, after Brian's fuel calcs went out the window!

Sorry to a few backmarkers for confusion over which direction I was going to go while passing, but fortunately no incidents or accidents for me. Few lapses in concentration, but no spins thankfully.

Also should mention the fact I was listed as DNF. I did cross the line but it did take the chequered flag a few seconds to appear. Went around first bend then escaped.

Result still said I was third though

The game said i was third at the end but the provisional result above says I was forth. I was definitely 3rd and did cross the line to finish. I'm sure replay will confirm so

Well unless I can persuade Luke not to turn up to the final round I think that's my championship gone. Sad Dipped into the 27s in qualifying and was happy enough with that, especially as a late run on a slighty different setup reversed my recent trend of starting behind me teammate.

Race started okay and I settled down for a long, steady first stint, but sadly it was not to be as I found myself defending from Chunky's M3. I know from the Sprint how difficult it is to get past an M3 in the 350Z, but know we also know it's very hard to get past a 350Z in an M3, so different are their abilities. To cut a long story short we both lost a lot of time with two instances of contact, one as the unfortunate result of Munkez getting badly out of shape in the double left with Don right behind him.

I picked up some slight aero damage from all this but nothing which really affected lap times, but I lost so much time that I knew I'd probably lost the podium spot I needed to keep my championship alive. Thought about pitting early but I was mostly on a clear track and lapping well so I decided to stay out until my scheduled stop and come in to change from mediums to softs with 30 minutes to go.

Stop went perfectly and I leap-frogged Picnic and started chasing down Reign Man, wo was 22 seconds up the road but lapping slower. At one point he must've spun or run off and the gap was suddenly down to 5 seconds, so I started pushed extra hard to try and put him under pressure. Stupidly I had a lapse of concentration whilst letting a GT car past going into the Sachskurve and ran off, losing 15 seconds, letting Picnic back past, and ending any prospect of getting onto the podium.

Picnic was kind enough to let me by again but I'd cooked my left front by then and it was all I could do to legitimately stay ahead of him. Sad With hindsight I should've stayed out longer on my mediums and come in with just 20 minutes to go.

A big thank you to all the GT drivers who were, without exception, very patient with me.

With just 3 points in it, if Luke wins the final round he'll take it on the countback even if I finish second. The team championship could still be ours though...

I'm guessing you were nearly a lap behind the leader? If you aren't the leader you must keep racing until you personally cross the line with the chequered flag showing.

We've had the finishing position debate before, and unless what the game has written in the export is actually incorrect, you are classified according to our rules, which differ from the game's (because it doesn't write full data in the exports).

Dave - If you wanted to win the championship we should have run in the rain.  Luke isn't so fast in the rain.   Wink

Well done Luke, you are simply too fast in the dry.

P.S. I thought you said you wasn't lucky  Tongue

Was another lonely race in the GT2, but still quite enjoyabe.

My fuel was all over the place. I used 60L in the first 35 minutes (1.71L/min), so I put 80L in when I pitted in, which should have been plenty.
With 15 minutes to go I noticed I wasn't gonna make it, so I shortshifted, but only saved around 0.1-0.2 per lap Undecided.

When Paul968 blew up his engine, I had 1:17 infront of the next driver, so I had time for a quick splash. I used almost 90L for the last 45 minutes (2L/min) Shocked.

Not a great race for, but at least i finished...but ran out of fuel on the last lap - saw the clock moving down slowly from about 3:34 to go, and only had less than one lap worth of fuel - i thought i judged it correctly  Undecided
Anyway, that led to me pitting in, and losing 6th pos. to drop back to 8th overall...

Ah well, at least the engine didn't give up this time  laugh

Other than that, i had long periods of the race on my own, in which i had time to hotlap - good driving by NGT's btw.

Good stuff eveyone - grats to all who entered, and to the podiums..

Difficult evening for me, been re-modelling my sim-pit after the arrival of the G25. Working to an 8:15 deadline when at 2 mins to 8 I remembered endurance races start at 8. Panic set in and I restarted the server, sorry for the type in the name  Cheesy

Hadn't even got the games PC wired up by then, so set about that and joined only to discover in my pratting around I had no sound, can't race like that so back round the back of the PC we went.

Finally got sorted more or less for the start of Q2, pipped Dave for a brief period but went for a comfort break and got back to see him pip me by 0.08 secs. Good one Dave Smiley

I didn't have any real pace all race. NP with the incident Munkez, I had missed my braking point and wasn't sure at the time if you tapped me of I got the back out by locking a brake. No harm done Smiley That left hander is dreadful for me, I can't get any temp into the front right and have to tippy-toe around it Sad

After Dave and Chunky had their spill I had a 10 sec lead over Dave but he just reeled me in lap after lap, he jumped me in the pits propably due to me putting in fuel, which it turns out I didn't need  Undecided After Dave's off letting the GTG passed I again had a 7 or 8 sec lead over him but again he relentlessly clawed his way back on to my boot. Those softs probably helping.

Disappointing race as I was never chasing any one, always defending which is not as rewarding Wink Everyone was excellent with their manners while lapping, thanks chaps Smiley

Well done to the podium guys.

well, after having practiced a couple of hours this afternoon I finally thought I had a workable setup for a wet race. My first wet race actually .

After joining the server for the race it was all of a sudden dry . w000t   eek

I started panicking since I didn't have any setup for dry and I've never raced on this track before  blink

Tweaked my wet race setup and got some decent times, although several seconds behind the front runners. And Ruskus was in front of me. This was not going to be easy.

Off we went and the first many laps had Ruskus written all over them. No way he was going to let me by easily. We had some good racing going on. Finally managed to squeeze myself by after a tuff fight

Had some laps in which I mangaged some OK times. I was faster than calculated and used more fuel than expected,so I knew I had to be careful in the end.

Thanks to all the NGTs for letting me by. Only at one point was it getting a bit to close, coming up behind Darren ind the second to last corner I saw him flashing his lights to let me by. Came up on the inside ,and then it seemed like he forgot I was there  eek  Fortunately we both got away without contact.  thumbup1

I remember this afternoon during practice that Darren wrote to Luke (when Luke was complaining about how much rain sucked):
" With your luck Luke, it's probably going to be dry anyway"    lol

That must have been the split time to Darren. I decided to to go long on the first stint running medium tyres and come in with 25 mins to go and then run softs. I was running in first (NGT) when i pitted and came out around 17 seconds behind Darren and 4.1 seconds in front of you. Would have been nice if you were able to catch me it was quite a lonely race for me.

...But saying that.... I have got my first podium!  Shocked  Tongue

I only had two silly mistakes once while letting a GT through and another when following Don both times just loosing concentration and driving on things other than tarmac  Angry

Other than that I am really pleased with how things went.

Great Race all!

Sorry for the confusion, I was expecting you to dive down the inside, but I misjudged your speed and you took longer than I expected, which meant I ran out of road...

In hindsight I should have made you wait  Tongue
