Round 3 of the Lamboghini Huracan Super Tropheo!

Round 3 takes us to Barcelonas' Circuit de Cateluna (moto) GP circuit - This is a great track for any big power GT car with a great selection of corner types to deal with.
There are no mandatory pitstops so your strategy is entirely up to you.
Tire warmers will be enabled so that we don't have to go through the pain of a warm-up lap and rolling start.

I hate the stupid chicane in the GP layout - I'll use it occasionally for variety, but my preference is for the natural circuit given that H&S isn't actually a worry for us!

A slight distraction to this thread, but just letting folks know....

https://www.f1classic.net/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=293

Had a quick drive in most of the cars and I think it's quite a big step up in driving feel from his previous mods. Definitely worth a look when you have time.

Probably not - Barcelona only has a small number of left turns and all of those are relatively slow.
If you run mediums you can probably generate a bit of heat, but then you'll suffer big time on the rears and possibly front right  Smiley

I seem to remember my front right spent the last 1/4 of every lap at Goria being a blue colour. Just a feature of hard tires Wink

Just make sure the pressures are in the right optimal state.... AC has never been about tyre temps.

Minute lights went out dumped to desktop, what a waste of time, I hope it did not affect anyone.

Got 4th in qually on pace, with top 3 untouchable.
So I guess all I had to do was get a good start and I got that best of the rest title, right?
I did get a good start, even got alongside Lorenzo through several corners after the start. Then getting out of the chicane the car inexplicably veered to the left into the barriers. No clue what happened. I hit the wall and fell to last place. I got by srw and Stefan, and just as I closed in on Tudor he made a small mistake, and I got that place too. After that I caught up with Kimi, but couldn't find a way past. We must have been driving like that for some 10 minutes when we went by Jari who had spun in turn 3 I think. So 6th now. Then Kimi went slightly wide on the right hander just before motogp section, but it was enough for me to slip past him. A couple of laps later Kimi made some other mistake I assume, as there was no car behind me. And Mark, who was some 12-13 seconds ahead, made some error somewhere, and suddenly I was back in 4th.
But it wasn't over, as Mark was a bit faster, and he eventually caught up with me. I soon realized I was vulnerable getting on the back straight, as Mark was closing there often. So I was closely watching my mirrors on every exit there, and with a couple of minutes left in the race, Mark got a good run on me. I went to defend the inside, but Mark stayed on the inside too, and we had a contact. No overlap between us, just a push from behind from Mark. Luckily didn't end badly for either of us, and Mark didn't get that close again in the remaining couple of laps.
So after all that I finished, where I started, in 4th Smiley
Congrats to the podium, who were way ahead of the rest of us.
And bad luck Bob, which seems to really follow you  Sad

Unlucky Bob  Sad

Again I find myself having to apologise for bashing Tim while having a big slapper of a moment. Thankfully apart from some small car damage we both continued so its not awful. Gotta say I'm still feeling a bit rusty and overdriving / making silly errors but I know my driving will get better again  Wink

Fun race though, very close at the front all the way  Grin

Surely not as rusty as me there Max. Glad to be back into the racing seat, altough around 40 min was enough for my sore back. But I am sure that will improve over time.
I didn't had any praccy and that showed. My setup was ok but just enough off to have the car feeling as on ice. Not very fun. I will try my best at a proper setup for Kyalami. Always a nice track.

Good to see you're on the mend Stefan  thumbup1 Bad luck Bob on your disco, stick with it and hope you have better fortune next week.

I had my usual struggle in the Lambo. I want to like the car but I find it very difficult to drive with any consistency and difficult to push anywhere near the limit. Very happy to qualify and finish 6th.

I have a one hour multicless race at Kyalami on Friday in the P1 Audi so that should give me some decent track time before we race there next week.

Same here. Maybe we should exchange setups and tips to get at least some sort of stable setup and enjoy the car a bit?
