Moderator's Report

A reminder that lights should only be used by the class leader(s) during daytime in dry conditions.

Drivers driving with their lights on needlessly are a distraction for other drivers because
- It makes it harder to spot their brake lights.
- It lowers people's frame rates.
- It distracts other drivers who may think they are about to be lapped by a leading car.

Server replay time: 655s

RS runs wide exiting the hairpin and loses some speed on the exit. James who is following behind closes right up, but gets caught out by the slower speed of the recovering RS and rear ends him as they brake for Wurth.
It is adviseable to leave some space when the car in front is recovering and offline.

Server replay time: 980s

Aagramn, RS and Shark are running together and as Aagramn brakes for the hairpin RS nudges the rear of Aagramn's car slightly. They both lose some speed as they recover and this allows Shark to get a good run down the inside to challenge RS into Wurth.

Server replay time: 991s

RS is still right behind Aagramn as they brake for Wurth. Shark has got a good run up the inside and outbrakes RS, who again contacts the rear of Aagramn's car under braking, resulting in both of them going off into the gravel while Shark sails through to take the two places.
Rs was driving very close to the car in front and did not leave enough margin for error in either corner, resulting in the contacts.

Server replay time: 2063s

Claus is slipstreaming Ruskus down the front straight and moves to the inside line getting adequately alongside Ruskus to have a try at overtaking.
Ruskus stays to the outside, leaving room on the inside for Claus.
However Claus is late on the brakes and locks up and slides wide into the side of Ruskus, knocking him out of the way and claiming the lead, which he maintained until the end of the race.

Server replay time: 2115s

Baracus and Jan Duijs are having a drag down the front straight. Enzo who is slipsteaming both of them, doesn't take into account his extra speed from the tow, gets his braking all wrong and rear ends Jan sending him into a spin.
Enzo did the gentlemanly thing and waited for Jan to rejoin, and Jan has requested that in return no penalty be given.

  • Enzo (Enzo Amico)penalty — rear end shunt — 2 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Congratulations Jeff on the championship win, 5 wins out of 8, you were clearly the fastest NGT driver this season. Well done to CJ and James on their 2nd and 3rd places in the table too.

Also well done to Team Shark on a good margin of victory in the team championship, unfortunately my Junior team could only manage 6th with no points in the final round and some very fast Kerb Krawlers getting good points (kudos to Mo for taking the Mosler, definitely one of the nicest slower cars).

Although the TVR is a fun car to drive I just find it a bit of a handful in the race, never seem to get good balance or speed and my pace just seems to go downhill so I've not enjoyed NGT Sprint as much as previous seasons. I think I may switch to GT for more races next year, but again if I come back in NGT it will be a different car cause I don't like sticking with the same car every season.

That was pretty tense, with no real chance to relax for the whole race. Pipped CJ for 2nd in qual by 0.001 but didn't really expect to hold on to the place very long. Sure enough he passed me early on with a nice move into T1, which left me with a little gap back to Jon in 4th. I then spent the rest of the race trying to manage that gap without wrecking my tyres (medium all round). I could see my team m8 snapping at Jon's heels, which hopefully slowed him down a touch (nice job Keith), but the gap gradually came down to around the 1 second mark. I then had to push a bit harder to stop him getting really close, and I think around this time his tyres may have been going off, as the gap widened slightly. Then Ruskus appeared in front of me after an off, and I stupidly ran a bit wide and gave the time right back to Jon. Luckily I was able to stabilise things and held on for 3rd. With Keith in 5th the Kerbies jumped up to 4th in the championship - I wonder where we would have been without the big technical problems that plagued Keith and Mo all season?

Congrats to CJ on the win, to Ruskus on the (already confirmed) championship and to Team Shark for a dominant team victory. If next season is as competitive as this one it should be a cracker.

Oops, posted this in the academy section Embarrassed

What a race! I got lucky at the start and was able to out drag Keith down to turn 1. The TVR seemed a fair bit quicker down the straights compared to the Porka and that was the story of my race really. Nearly got up to Paul in 3rd but he always seemed to have a little spurt on to gain a few tenths when needed. Grats to Ruskus on his second sprint Drivers Title Cool
Thanks to SROU for another glorious season Smiley See you at  the next one Wink

Jon, on a slightly unrelated note I see you're a Tiscali 'customer'. I was too up until the start of the month, and their network has been getting shoddier since December. It got to the point where I couldn't play anything after about 5pm, due to their traffic shaping.

If you're outside your 12month contract, get your MAC and get out ASAP! If not, then just download the Internet and get FUPped Wink

I can't believe that you cannot discuss what happened to you in a race, if I had wanted to point the finger I would have said who it was. YOU obviously knew who it was, that is why the post was removed. I will report the incidents and watch nothing happen, where is the impartiality here Huh

It's a very simple rule - don't discuss incidents in public. Doing so is highly likely to make the other party respond in public also, and a slanging match is the unfortunate result. We've been doing this for years now and a ban on such comments is the only way, believe me. The one thing you will certainly get on this issue is impartiality.

I will have to take your word on that Paul because the general feeling with many teams, not just mine is that it is far from impartial. I have on many occasions stuck up for SRou but it feels more and more like a jolly boys club. For the most I really enjoy the races here at sharkracing.org.uk but the season is now over and we are now 2 races with no moderators reports excluding the last. You might say well that's easy for you to say when you don't have to do it but I have offered and that's a different story. All the bitching and bad feeling that comes across on the forum seems to come from the organisers not the participants so I really can't see what the problem is.

What is the point of a forum (Discussion Borad) if you cannot discuss anything ?

I probably shouldn't get involved here but I feel I must stick up for the moderators who work very hard behind the scenes trying to sort out the races. For a member here to basically call them corrupt makes me a tad upset.

There are rules that state no public discussion of incidents and that is for good reason. I've been sim racing for over 5 years and can still remember the bad times before this sort of rule was introduced. There is a procedure if you feel a ruling is unfair or unjust. It rarely gets used but always a different moderator would be used to check the findings, claims and counter claims.

As for any incident in a race where a team member of the mod is involved an independant mod is ask to check it out.

Really? You are one of a very small handful to have ever made that suggestion, but if you'd like to give me examples of this lack of impartiality I'd be happy to look into it. (pls do this via PM tho). Remember that there is always the right of appeal if you disagree with a ruling, in which case you will get an impartial second opinion.

In some ways that is not so far from the truth and is exactly what many of the drivers want. It doesn't mean though that you need to be 'one of the boys' to get a fair crack of the whip.

If you are suggesting that team shark are given an unfair advantage then please remember that 3 of the 5 mods are not from Team Shark and that mods will normally refer an incident which involves a team mate to another mod not in that team.

A combination of the cutting problems and a bad case of 'the real world' has caused a big backlog this season. We are working hard on this at the moment. I'm afraid it just isn't as easy as asking someone else to temporarily fill in, but thanks for the offer.

I really don't know where you get this from? I see very little bitching, although its inevitable that some people will be unhappy about some things that happen in the league.

I have another couple of weeks left of the 12 months and will most probably be leaving them. They're a bunch of liars which is the worst thing. I was once told that my computers chipset wasn't compatable with the internet Shocked And that any problem wasn't the fault of tiscali Cheesy I've had a look around and am thinking about Sky's package Smiley

I know there are lovers and haters for everything in this world, but thought you should read this review first.

http://www.trustedreviews.com/editorial/2007/01/21/Sky-Really-is-the-Limit/p1

I've been trying to add to my NTL package today.....after 2 transfers and 20 mins waiting I had to hang up because I was late for work. Is it so hard to get half decent customer service?
