Season 39 - 1967 F2 - Goodwood 65 AMS RACE This race is at Goodwood, which is situated near Chichester, West Sussex, close to the south coast of England, on the estate of Goodwood House. The circuit is famous for holding the annual "Goodwood Revival" Historic car meeting and for an accident that finished the career of Stirling Moss. In 1962, Stirling was competing in the International 100 race for Formula One cars when, towards the end of the race, he was attempting to pass Graham Hill’s BRM V8 on the outside of Fordwater bend when his car shot onto the grass and struck a low bank protecting spectators. At the time of the accident Stirling was two laps behind Graham Hill, who went on to win the race. Stirling was delayed by a stop for attention to his gear change mechanism and carburettors, and was in no position to challenge for the lead; nevertheless it didn't stop him trying to unlap himself. This car/track combi had several problems that got solved by the new Track Gap Freeze Fix Patch v.09Put the .xml in the ../GPLSecrets/GEM+/Options/ folder and activate it in GEM for all mods! Yes just hover your mouse over your championship total on the Championship page and the tokens are displayed. You've got 4 tokens before the next race start.

So no racing for me tonight. Time to build the new PC.
Have a good time one and all.

My compliments to D.Rainier for the race without mistake also if a little displacement of his rear in the Lavant curve trow me out. Anyway my race was full of mistake and also the overtake of Dave is son of my previous mistake.

NEWSFLASH! I noticed 2 cars collide and reset on-track during practice. Unsure if race reset rule extends to practice without pitting. Race report later. . . . .

This is turning into a very good series. It would be good to have more cars on the grid (good luck with the PC rebuild Paul) but the lap times are closely matched across the field. I think everyone was running in at least a podium place at one stage. Many of the position changes were as a result of cars taking a detour off track but it made for good racing. I got tangled up in a start line incident. A brief look at the replay, David moved a little toward the centre, at the same time Philippe was outdargging me because he had better start. I think I kept a straight line but there just was no room for 3 cars on the part of the track. (Not sure what happened to Philippe - looks like a Disco folllowing that incident?). Just an unfortunate incident in my book. I was in last place after a rese, then briefly up to 2nd with other peoples mistakes. A horrible spin at the chicane cost a reasonable change at P3 but I put in my best laps after that trying to chase down Eric & DC. Congratulations to David R who drove a consistent race to the flag.

It was pole grabbing time at Goodwood. I had the advantage of seeing how it was done the 1st time around, in 1965. Could not recall the screaming football fans, but all else seemed fine. Mirrors grabbed my attention off the startline, as I glanced a flying lesson taking place rearward. Nothing thereafter, until my new mirror fixation caused grass to spring from them. Not a good sign! Several cars loomed large, then faded. Repeated grass tracking process, with restocking of mirrors a second time, and decided to ignore mirrors, Stayed first, and continued with forward skuttle. Main straight - engine died - not very helpful to a race winning car, and rare for an F2 First to pass by was a fully mobile Francesco, who took the lead. It was highly suspicious! Setting forth, I tackled 3rd, and 2nd, but could not ford the gap to a well-honed David, after he forged past a flailing Fran. A Mclaren 1-2.

no problem Billy, you analyzed the situation well, we could not go to three. there was a crash, my car car flew away, and I decided not to do a reset. it was totally my fault, I should have been patient at the start
