Season 39 - 69X – Round 6 – Grenzlandring

The 6th race in the 1969x Grand Prix series sees us at Grenzlandring, a track around the town of Wegberg in Germany.  The first race was held on 19th September 1948 in front of about 250,000 spectators. It was organised by silk weaving mill owner and keen racing driver Emil "Teddy" Vorster (Rheydt) and his Rheydter Club für Motorsport (RCM). From 1949 onwards, the organisation was in the hands of the Motorsport-Union-Grenzlandring, a co-operation of four motorsport clubs of the Lower Rhine region. The all-time lap record was set in September 1949 by Bavarian Georg "Schorsch" Meier on a supercharged BMW 500 motorbike at 216 km/h (134 mph) (clockwise driven) and in September 1951 Toni Ulmen set the all-time record for cars, driving his Veritas 2000 RS to 212 km/h (132 mph) (anti-clockwise). No doubt genuine Grand Prix cars would have been a lot quicker. Racing came to an end after 31 August 1952, when Helmut Niedermayr from Berlin crashed his Formula Two Reif/Veritas-Meteor at the exit of the Roermonder Kurve at nearly 200 km/h (120 mph) killing at least 13 spectators.

Please check the Season 39 pages for details regarding rules and the 1969x F1 pages in particular.

And if we race an uneven number of races...  Grin
I hope to race 5 times in this series, so I guess 3 times Ferrari and 2 times BRM will be allowed !

I tripped over David 2 x after putting a wheel on the grass. Getting too messy so I parked the car. Don't think this series is for me.

First Tristan nudges me which caused me to hit a post on the circuit, and afterwards became the instigator of a huge incident which resulted in me unable to react to a Lotus half-reversing back on track.
This guy is a censored hazard on the track! Expect a report when I get to write one.

... unable to react to a Lotus half-reversing back on track...

Yannick,

Sorry, that was me. I was bouncing around against the haybales with a box full of neutrals and NO reverse. (I had the wrong GPLSHIFT.ini selected so no Reverse gear on my Linux G27 - My mistake entirely)

Still friends?

No worries, Pete. There was a slow car on the inside of the final corner's exit I had to avoid as well. I should have lifted, because it all happened too fast.

Yes Yannick,
I see that some driver do not understand what a not moderated series and a self-responsible gentleman behaviour means.

My race was also affected by these actions, because all competition was suddenly gone and what was supposed to be a race became a lonely ride.

I hope Tris reads along here and will be a little more patient and respectful in the future.

I looked at the incidents...
As this race was started with "no moderation" - I will not do it.

BUT

From next Friday the 69x and CA71 series will be moderated for reported incidents.

Sorry to Yannick for the toutch, ( at 0:07;39 ) it's the stupid wing who toutch the tire....of course it was very close racing, I can said more : it's a very dangerous track , I was doing the lap flat out , never toutch the break !!....and quite boring track to , only left turns  who give me some problems because of the big difference of "carrossage " négatif on right side and positif left side ! that's why it was more difficult to keep the line on straignt line 'cause the car just want to go on the left !!....
about the second accident ,please look at the reaplay before said things !....in fact , Andreas sudenly slow down 300m before the last turn ( lap 8 ) at 285 km/h ....if you have a look at the lap 7 he is still at 301 km/h when he's enter in the last turn ....300m  later !! how can avoid sutch action ??....nobody can !....what's append Andreas ?....
then when Yannick arrive in the last turn lap 8, there is one car stop on the right side another crusing on the left side and the marshal mouving IS YELLOW FLAG but Yannick still full trottle !!...that why he can't avoid Pete !   ...so, Yannick  retirement is not my fault ! You said I ' m dangerous , but don't care about yellow flag , that's dangerous !...specialy on this track whith no where to go out track !..
Sorry to Andreas for the last contact , on the reaplay it's look more like a GPL  bug , I don't see realy contact...
few laps later I lost the car in straight line 'cause of the problem I said before ....
...Cookie, I know I'm not perfect , who is ?.....I can do mistake like everybody and it's not because I have no respect , I use to crasch myself than to hit someone else ....

Just a hint,
I do control my distance to other cars by looking at the top center pribluda info - less than 6-7m is dangerous for me ...

Once again:
I never assume that someone here intentionally fouls another!

Here people drive with very different possibilities, both from the talent and from the technical side.
Also the age differences are not to be underestimated.
That's why it's a special requirement for the faster ones to plan a larger safety buffer.

The upcoming CA71 race will once again bring an increase in speed of up to 20% - so special consideration and caution is required here in particular to allow everyone to have fun.
