Moderator's Report

Summary
A victory for Philippe Girard ahead of Dave Curtis with Eric Bilodeau picking up the final podium place.

Server replay time: 0h00m59s

Lap 1 – Turn 1 – Albert Hallu and David Rainier
Albert gets a great start and overtakes three cars on the run down to turn 1. However, he fails to slow down enough for turn 1 and he rear-ends David. Both cars can continue but they lose a lot of time with David ending up in last place.

David did nothing wrong.

Albert was a little too ambitious. He should have been content in having overtaken three cars but he pushed his luck and rear-ended David.

  • Albert Hallupenalty — Blatant Rear End Shunt: Penalty 2 Places plus 1 place for first lap — 3 places lost

Server replay time: 0h01m12s

Lap 1 – Turn 1 – Fabio Locarno and David Rainier
Fabio has to take to the grass in order to avoid the spinning cars of Albert Hallu and David Rainier. Fabio rejoins the circuit but instead of staying off the racing line until he is up to speed, he immediately moves across the track forcing David onto the grass.

David did nothing wrong.

Fabio should have stayed off the racing line until he was up to racing speed.

Server replay time: 0h02m12s

Lap 1 – Turn 8 – Fabio Locarno and David Rainier
Fabio runs wide at Turn 7 and David overtakes him along Hurry Downs and is ahead as they approach the braking zone for Turn 8. Fabio is still focussed on recovering and appears to be surprised by David’s move and consequently he misjudges his braking and rear-ends David.

David did nothing wrong.

Fabio should have been aware of the Ferrari alongside him and should have been prepared for a duel on the brakes. Consequently, the responsibility for the incident lies with Fabio.

Season 39 – 1967 F1 (Privateers) – Round 7 – Road America
The seventh race in the 1967 F1 Privateers series will be at Road America in the USA. The track covers 640 acres (2.6 km2) within Wisconsin’s Kettle Moraine. It is near the Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive and has hosted races since September 1955. It currently hosts over 400 events a year. Road America has not been modified and retains its original configuration of 4.048 miles (6.515 km) in length and consisting of 14 turns. The track features many elevation changes, along with a long front stretch where speeds approaching 200 mph (320 km/h) may be reached. One of the best known features of this course is a demanding right hand turn known as "the kink." Road America's open seating allows spectators to venture throughout the grounds. Grandstands are available in several locations, as well as permanent hillside seating where crowds of more than 150,000 can be accommodated.

Please read the Season 39 general rules on the championship standings page.

Please read the specific rules for 67 Privateers series on the 67 Privateers championship standings page.

I like this track and I was hoping a good result here but ...
when you are rearended on lap1 on the 1st turn
when you are victim of bad rejoins from other driver (especially on lap1)
when you are again rearended on lap 1 after 2m12s
when you spun 2 or 3 times to avoid contact with another car

first, you think this Ferrari has a very strong engine (even if it was broken after the 3rd spun behind Mr Hallu)
then you think it would have better to look at a movie on TV this evening.

Pete, looks to be a bit of a kicker.

Great race, but from my quick (not-official) reckoning,  you had zero tokens after the last race.
As a result, Brabham would have been the most your budget would stretch to this time.

Unlucky Francesco, I had similar problems this evening. I drove the Lotus which I know is very fragile but I had no issues at all in qualifying. At the start of my second lap the engine exploded. I can only assume I was revving it too hard. I'll try to stay away from max RPM in the next race Sad. I'm going to have to study the replays of the drivers who made it to the end and compare their max RPM with mine, I suggest you do the same.
