Championship standings HERE

Grid/server capacity: 22

Car/Track download available by pm to WT

Track: Loch Rannoch (Short)

Car restrictions: Drivers are limited to a maximum number of drives per make. For more information please click HERE

Drivers must take different car makes for each race.

RACE ONE
Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (5 mins) Drivers must not leave qualifying to change car make. One attempt at a timed lap only
Race: 20:25 (12 laps)

RACE TWO will follow, with same rules

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit stops: Not required

Server: simracing.org.uk Monday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Cuts will be off for this race.

Looks like an unknown version of the track for me. Roll Eyes

Nevertheless, i will give it a try, especially since my booster appointment scheduled for today will not take place
due to the doctor's office being closed due to illness (!). Next attempt on Thursday in another place  Tongue

Well done robby82,
during last Monday's race I noticed that your driving style is improving and also the way you allow lapping cars to pass you. Well done.
If you are looking for a way to improve your laptimes and you happen to own GTR2 too, The driving school option is great and it helped me a fair bit long ago. A few tips I remember from GTR2: Be gentle on the throttle and brake pedals, locking and spinning wheels won't get you through a corner. Hence the rule enter the corner slowly and gradually build up speed (slow in, fast out). Always do your braking and acceleration at the same spot every corner, every lap. this will result in very consistent laptimes.
I am sure the aliens in UKGTL can give you a dozen more useful tips but this may be a start. It's great to see a driver improve his skills.

Happy racing mate thumbup1, Cheers, Dan[/b]

Robby is definitely improving and as I said many times in the past he is trying hard to be better and better. I am very happy for him that more drivers can see the improvement now. Smiley Cheers Dan.

Results and replays now posted.

I'll get the missing class designation for the Alfa fixed before the next race.

Cool

Just wanted to say that I had a strange issue when I first tried to join for Race 2 with Alpine #214PG but skin
didn't appear in game and me neither. Took #238PG instead.
No idea whether it was a car issue or a game issue with me. Offline ok. I could not find an issue with the skin,
Will try to join the next race with Alpine #214PG once again.

Thanks for flagging this up Kurt. I have temporarily released the Alpines and Loch Rannoch (Short) on the Mugello server so you can test when your able to.

I have and had no issues.

Let me know how you get on please.

Feeling sick after yesterday's booster.

But I'll give it a try tonight or on Saturday during the day.

Thanks.

2 good races for me.  Loch Rannoch is such a crazy fun track, but can be frustrating as it's so easy to lose time (or lose it all), if you don't get your lines just right.

Started practice around 6 PM Wednesday, which was really too late to relearn track and deal with 3½ new car (used the Escort before).  Thus just settled on two cars; Opel & Alfa.  Not very good friends with the Opel; it can be understeery, it can be oversteery, it can be anything you want it to be - just not when you want it, or where you want it...  Roll Eyes

Race 1 initially looked set to get lonely, with growing gaps front & behind, but towards the end, mistakes from DD meant I caught up and even got ahead briefly, before a chase over the final laps.  Too many errors from me trying to stay with him meant 2nd was the best I could do.

Had problems at the start of each race, with the car rolling.  Thought I had worked out the sequence of clutch activation, throttle application & gear shift, but made a real faff of it in race 2, having to hold the car on the brake. You don't do that unpunished with Mr. Start himself; Dan, behind you, and of course he got ahead.  Reclaimed the position through the first stretch, but lost it once more when losing momentum at the jump landing.  Next got to be the meat in a Tony-Fulvio sandwich exiting the bridge.  Initiated when Tony clipped the corner. I didn't wait as I didn't think I did anything wrong, but let me know if you guys have a different opinion.

A good chase after Dan over the following laps, while Clive regrettably dropped back after an incident.  Slipped past Dan when he ran wide into gravel exiting the bridge. Chase still on with swapped places, but sadly ended before the bridge next lap, when he ran wide and hit the wall.  DD was some 6 secs up the road at this point, but mistakes shortened the gap.  Culminated with me grabbing the lead after he had a bad landing at the jump.  Didn't know his car was damaged and expected him to stage a comeback, so desperately tried to go as fast as possible. Gap grew over the following laps, as he had catastrophic landings at the jump, so I could relax a little in the final laps.

Grats to DD on the win & podium, and to Tony & Fulvio on their podiums. Commiserations to the victims of the track.

Edit: Hope you'll feel better soon Kurt!

Erling, no faults from you, I just clipped the wall at the corner. Sorry to those I inconvenienced.

BTW there are some really, really, fast tracks in this series so they won't all be "quirky" like Loch Rannoch, honest.
