Championship standings HERE

Grid/server capacity: 22

Car/Track download available by pm to WT

Track: Harestock Park

Car restrictions: Drivers are limited to a maximum number of drives per Class. For more information please click HERE

Drivers must take different car makes for each race.

RACE ONE
Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (5 mins) Drivers must not leave qualifying to change car make. One attempt at a timed lap only
Race: 20:25 (16 laps)

RACE TWO will follow, with same rules

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit stops: Not required

Server: simracing.org.uk Monday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None.

Problem one: Outdragged DD but Erling did a rocket start. Managed to keep aside Erling until T2 or 3, Erling gave just enough room
on the inside, but DD fancied a go up the inside as well   Shocked Hard to keep from some contact, and I nudged Erling a bit
then lost it at the hairpin I had struggled with all practice, ended up over a fence with no way back.

Problem Two:Didn't realise it was a double race.. should have stuck around.

I did two good races.
Race 1 I kept my pace, it was impossible with the Alfa to compete against the Alpines, but I still got good lap times and that was the thing that mattered most to me.
In race 2 I started at a disadvantage, I had made the pole but during the qualifying I lost the connection  taz and I found myself starting from the back of the grid. It was a shame, given my pace I could have fought for the victory with Daz and Dimitar and above all I missed the fun of having a direct confrontation with them. I drove nervously, I did my best lap in 1.28.4 but in afternoon practice my best was 1.28.1. I also made a mistake with two laps to go (I was too nervous). The gap with Daz and DD was fixed at 4.5 sec - 5 sec then with the error it became 7 sec. However, two positive races  Smiley

I just wanna say Thanks to Daz for the wonderful fight during Race 2. Such a great fair play. I think we both had a great time.  angel

If you enjoyed this circuit then stick around as I tried to find as many similar style circuits as I could.

In particular look out for Pinevale, Essington and Oldring Park.

Yeah, nice track with these cars. The chance for some slipstream gives chance to the slower on the straights cars.

Old Ring Park, Jops Siffert and Sapanoro I have raced on before, and all are fantastic tracks.

Great series Tony, I have always thought these small 70s cars give fantastic racing whilst for the main part being easier to avoid trouble than some of the faster stuff, so seeing them being used is great.

I have raced here many moons ago, so it was kind of familiar. I did try all 4 cars offline, and decided on Alpine then Escort.

Race 1, nipped in front in quali, but a terrible start dropped me behind Matt and Erling. Had a bit of a freebie back into second when Matt span, but I had nowhere near the same pace as Dimitar, the car was an understeering pile of junk, and I'm convinced I got the gears all wrong. Had a right job on holding off Erling, who went past me when I went wide around half distance, and although I got back past him it was never comfortable. In the meantime Dimitar was long, long gone, showing great pace and his usual consistency.

Race 2 - was a relief to get in the Escort, even though it was slower. Stuck it on pole, but as Ziu said that was only because of him having connection problems. Better start, held off DD, and felt I might just have enough pace to keep pulling away to get that gap to stop the draft.....No, never happened!

Essentially the rest of the race was DD looking to create an opening to get past me, and me trying hard to not only give him no opening for a dive but also just changing up the lines trying to both find a crucial tenth or two, and keep him guessing where the hole in the air was going to be. 16 laps of pressure later, with the latter half being properly close, and I just about took the win, but honestly it was a coin flip, could have gone either way. I now genuinely have no idea which of the two cars is faster, or how much of his speed was down to the slipstream. I think DD had the better pace on the night, see race 1 Wink, but I had track position and made it work....

Great event, awesome racing, a lot of fun for sure. I recommend a watch of the video DD streamed for race 2.....

Yesterday i watched Dimitar video and i lost connection during my attempt of quly lap, i closed my hot lap on 1.29,0 to be precise. Now not is important but really it was a pity to lose an epic challenge with Daz and Dimitar. I dare not imagine if there was  Geoffers too......  punk

I know Jops Siffert, it s spectacular track, i remember on half track there is a corner where the input is blind, before the entrance there is a bump and when you take the bend the descent begins.

I have said before that I enjoy these multi choice tin top races, thanks Tony.

I blame Mr Gates for my sudden departure in Race 1. Win 11 ( which we were promised would never need updates??!!) had updated during the afternoon and as per usual all of my control settings were screwed. I thought that I had rectified everything including the shifter and gear selections, degrees of wheel rotation etc,  until we went to the grid and I tested the "look left/right" for which I use the flappy paddles. It was with a few secs left on the countdown that I discovered that the paddles were still set for upshift/downshift??!! in parallel with the H shift?? ( normally I remove the shift commands to the paddles and assign the "look" commands but I had missed it.
The car lurched backwards and forwards and I was DQ'd. The Alfa was the only car that I had tried up to that point and I was just beginning to find the correct lines/gears...so I was a little miffed. Instead I went off to do some offline practice with the Alpine ready for race 2, and the least said about that the better!!

Jops Siffert is a favourite track in the GPL community, despite being a Fantasy circuit which a great many GPL'ers think is heresy. Because the track is wide, fast and technical it cannot be easily dismissed  Wink

The blind yump that Ziu refers to is a real challenge to car/driver/line and setup. Certainly within GPL the setup has to be adjusted to work on that jump even if it compromises the rest of the lap by 5%, otherwise multiple trips into the scenery will limit your progress  Grin
