Championship standings HERE

Grid/server capacity: 22

Car/Track download available by pm to WT

Track: Autodromo Saponaro

Car restrictions: Drivers are limited to a maximum number of drives per Class. For more information please click HERE

Drivers must take different car makes for each race.

RACE ONE
Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (5 mins) Drivers must not leave qualifying to change car make. One attempt at a timed lap only
Race: 20:25 (12 laps)

RACE TWO will follow, with same rules

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit stops: Not required

Server: simracing.org.uk Monday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None.

Great series Tony, with amazing tracks. Fantasy or not, IMHO they're they best we've been on this Season.  Nice cars too, with the Alfa being my fav, even if it's not the fastest.

Winning the Championship was a long shot, and to be honest only made possible by Daz and other aliens missing some races.  Going into the final round, Daz winning both races and scoring 50 points was a given I thought. To counter it, I needed at least 34 points, or a 3rd & 4th place in the races or better.  Difficult prospect, given my remaining cars.

Any illusions burst when I went online to find a nearly full complement of aliens, with Daz joining later in an Alpine. A sure thing he would win, but I had no hope of 4th in the Opel. Looking at the posted lap times, I might have a shot at 4th if I switched to the Escort, but then I needed 3rd in the Opel in the 2nd race - never going to happen!  Thus stayed with the Opel.  Race quickly turned very lonely, with only the occational 'visit' from Chris, when he had moments, but I couldn't challenge his quicker Escort.

Race 2 shook things up a bit, when Manfred went AWOL and Ziu showed up in Alpine, looking comfortably poised for victory. Could this mean not enough points gained for Daz to snatch the Championship?
Daz got a very poor start, allowing me to swoop into 2nd. Tooth and nails battle ensued over the early laps, with Chris in his Alpine thrown in for good measure. Several positions swaps later, I was the loser of the battle, as expected, but at least Chris was ahead of Daz too, giving me hopes for the points.  Thus found myself cursing when in the final corner of the race, I found him recovering after a moment, elevating Daz to 2nd.  Of course I also gained a place, but was convinced it would have been better for my chances if we finished further down the order.  Turned out to be just enough however, to my surprise.

Grats to Daz & Ziu for the wins, and to Daz & Tony for the Championship places  clap clap

My first series at UK GTL where I participated.
It was really fun. Smiley
The track selection and car choice, and especially the format of the two sprint races.
I will race again, if there is a new edition next year.
Thanks for the fairness on track, you are all gentleman drivers. Smiley

Greetings from the ABB, Michael

Thanks Michael, glad you enjoyed our events.

We will be racing something here every Monday night so keep checking in.

Whilst I cannot promise another series like this one, we will have something to keep you with us (I hope)  Wink
