If anyone had predicted before last night's races that I would score two poles & two wins, I would have declared them legally insane! While my best offline time of 42.0 compared favorably with the times posted by Geoff & Matt, I was under no illusion that Daz wouldn't easily beat that, and that the two others would surely improve their times as well.
So surprised to get pole in race one. Punched a hole to the rest of the field already on the first lap, so thought some kind of pileup might have happened behind me. Subsequently the gap either increased or held, when I didn't lose time due to traffic. Seems Daz & Geoff were stuck further back in the field, which no doubt helped - I didn't get to try it, but imagine this track is very hard to overtake on, unless the driver ahead makes a mistake.
For race two, my qual lap wasn't very good. No outright errors; just not as fast as hoped for. So a surprise that no one else posted a faster time; ppl must have had problems. With Geoffers right behind over the first two laps, things looked more difficult, but he dropped back a bit, and a repeat of race 1 more or less followed. Wasn't aware of Daz' disco until after the race. In all fairness that probably helped me in no small way; had he stayed, the result might have been more normal. Wonder if there's issues with the track, since Dan lost connection as well?
Grats to Geoffers, Daz, Matt & Tony on their podiums, and commiserations to the victims of track & car, and disco bugs..
