I'm with Erling, it was a challenge in its own right to keep the thing on the road, a tricky combo for sure.
Great scrap with Ziu, thought I had nicked it in quali, and was on an even better lap, but then I made a horlicks of it before halfway around on my final run, and he nipped back in front with a 2.08, great going.
However, I got the launch and went off into the lead. Had around 2 seconds I think at the end of the lap, and was thinking it would be tough to manage a gap that small for that length of time, and then Ziu did the same tactic as last time and pitted early to get it out of the way I guess. In my head, even if he did change tires at that point (and my money was on him not doing so) the new rubber wouldn't be very good by the end of the race if it was anything like the wear rate I was seeing.
That set my strategy for me really. I pumped some fast laps whilst the grip felt good, got into the 2.08s a couple of times, and tried to build as big a gap as possible by mid race, then pitted for fuel and took tires. I rarely get really good stops, I'm missing a trick as they used to be quicker on the release as I recall, but it was an OK stop and I came out around 16 seconds behind Ziu, but on fresh rubber. It was then a case of piling on the pressure and seeing if I could get the ever shrinking gap to close enough to challenge, knowing that my tires would be good enough to try to make a move if I could get close enough. Luckily for me the worn tires caused Ziu to have a couple of moments and I had the grip to turn under him in the first corner to take the lead. Then just a case of holding on for a couple of laps....
Apologies for the setup going on a bit late, but it took me that long to get it stable enough to consider sharing, before then it was a total pig.....I will try harder to keep an eye on the clock. I would imagine the one now uploaded should be a decent base for the circuits coming along next hopefully....

No worries; was kind enough to even make it available. I just didn't want to take a chance on something completely unknown, with so little time to evaluate, as I usually need several laps to assess setup changes. Will try it before the next race, so not in vain

In the previous post's, drivers have mentioned FPS numbers in the hundreds.
I have tried both Fraps and AMD's metric's but both max out at 60FPS.
What do the previous posters use to get those higher FPS values?
Am I stuck at 60FPS due to my monitor running at 60Hz?
I have Vertical Sync off.

My monitor is 60hz & I can get fps in the hundreds, so that is not the limit. I am still getting the fps dropping off during the races in GTL though even setting it to use all cores. Funnily enough in Raceroom I only get a constant 60fps like you are getting in GTL Tony. No ideas why though.

My monitor is 60Hz as well. Apart from having Vsync off, I haven't done anything special.
You mention AMD Tony; does that mean you're on an AMD card as well? They have settings in the driver control panel, where you can overrule the Vsync settings of the game. May be worth checking. Don't know if Nvidia has similar settings.

Yep AMD here.
I did find a setting under Graphics called "Radeon Chill" which mentions FPS so I'm going to play around with that.

Not sure what 'Chill' does - it's off in my case. The setting I was referring to is right above it in my control panel, but I'm using older drivers, as the newer ones introduces stutter in GTL. My driver control panel is in Danish, but translated to English, it should be something like 'Wait for vertical update'. Btw, I can only find 'Chill' in my 'Global Settings' - in all the specific profiles for various games, it's missing. Don't know why.

Ok, so I turned of Chill as it seems to limit FPS (to save power).
But turned on most of the other setting and now the Radeon FPS display is showing in the 200's so I think I'm sorted.

I'm looking forward to getting my new monitor sorted at some point soon, but need to do some adjustments for it in terms of setup. That'll do the full 240Hz natively as opposed to the 60Hz my current monitor has. It is possible to see some tearing with the high fps that is being generated which will hopefully disappear on the new one.
