Championship standings HERE

Grid/server capacity: 22

Car/Track download available by pm to WT

Track: Fuji GP (1990)

Car restrictions: Check your car allowance here

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins) Drivers must not leave qualifying to change car make.
Race: 20:40 (34 laps)

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: 2x
Fuel consumption: 2x
Pit stops required: YES

Server: simracing.org.uk Monday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Drivers must complete over 75% of the published race distance in order to score points.

I didn't have the pace to catch anyone up barring offs, so after my early visit to the beach
I didn't have the heart to keep getting further behind. So left
Shame, it was a good track with good cars.

It's been a great series for sure, with some nice cars & tracks.  Liked Fuji, apart from a little too many 1st gear corners, but at least there's some fast ones as well to compensate.  Love the Sierra; would be nice to use it with less tyre wear, as it's easy & so much fun to power slide it around.

Thought Daz was playing the no-qual game when I ran away with pole, so surprised to see that he did set a time. Only conclusion must be that he arrived unprepared.  Lost the lead to him immediately, and next lap Dan slipstreamed ahead. Couldn't match his speed over the early laps, so he pulled out a gap. As the stint (and tyres..) wore on, I slowly reeled him back in.  Just as I was getting close late in the stint, he pulled over and waved me through; shame as it was a great chase.  I suspected fuel issues, which he confirmed after the race. A bit strange, fuel - I started with 20 laps in the tank, which testing had shown to be required for 18 laps, and I planned to do 17 before stopping.  Original plan was to add another 20 laps for the remaining 17 laps, but worried by Dan's suspected issue, I added 21 laps to be safe. Still, I only had ½ a lap left when the race finished after another 17 laps, so wonder if I might have run out, had I not added the extra?

2nd stint was lonely, apart from lapping a couple of cars - Clive waved me past down the straight, only for me to overshoot my brake point and kiss the gravel, so we had to repeat the manoeuvre 1-2 laps later  laugh   Apologies to Fulvio for not flashing a 'thank you'; was too focused on the corner to fumble for the light button.

Grats to Daz on the win, the series & class wins, and to Clive for Division 3  clap clap

Thanks Tony for another great series thumbup2. Couldn't do all the races but but the ones I attended provided a lot of smiles on my face. Hope this series will become a regular on UKGTL's calander. Will dive into my HD archives to see if I can find some more "87 cars like the VolVo 240T for instance and maybe some more immersive sounds for the Alfa. and....yes let's drop the little Nissan.
Looking forward to next years 1987 races.

Cheers, Dan

"..................yes let's drop the little Nissan"  eek eek eek eek

Nothing wrong with that screaming rice burner from my perspective. lol

Grats to Daz and Erling for the top spots.
For me overall, a very successful series. I cannot compete with the "Borg collective" members up front, but somehow with a compleely random car selection race by race, I end up with a top 3 finish!! In fact, until late on Tuesday evening I had not a clue as to what Fuji would look like, and the car choice was non negotiable as I only had the BMW left on the transporter. A shame that all the other Beemer drivers dropped out for various reasons and I had no-one to race with except for wounded Sierras.
I was lucky that I glanced in my mirror at T1 and saw the feline powered projectile hurtling up the inside, Some heavy braking and a VERY late turn in allowed the threat to pass, but it took a few cars out of contention.

I am bound to say that I have enjoyed this series as it was possibly my best result since joining UKGTL, but I genuinely enjoy the multi class battles especially when there is the lottery of pitstop/no pitstop option involved.
Thanks for orchestrating the fun Tony.  Grin
