Moderator's Report

PRibeiro joined in a scoring car despite being a Masters driver. The Masters should take non-scoring (G2 or GT3) cars so that they don't have any direct effect on the Clubmen championship.

As a one off, his car has been classified in G2. In future, we will probably exclude such drivers from the results.

A few reserve drivers joined before the start of Practice 2; all drivers are reminded that they should join in the correct session.

Server replay time: 1312s

Backo is challenging Kerr for the lead as they race down the Flight Straight. Popabawa and Munkez are ahead and about to be lapped, and Backo is on the left and about to suddenly run out of road as he uses the 550's huge straightline speed advantage to get alongside Kerr, who misinterprets Popabawa's slight course correction as he tucks back over to the left ready for T2, and Brian suddenly moves left as he thinks he is about to run into the back of the Vertigo.

Unfortunately, Backo is right there and has to run off the circuit to avoid a big accident, losing 7 spots in the process (and a further place waiting to rejoin safely).

I've no reason to believe that this was anything other than a racing incident, although Backo put himself into a position with no Plan B, and Kerr should really have been aware of which side Backo was coming down and gone right and not left.

  • BACKOadvice — always have a Plan B
  • Kerr (Brian Kerr)advice — maintain better situational awareness

Server replay time: 2239s

Jure is about to lap Anthony's M3 as they exit Startkurven. Ant hesitates for a moment about which way to go, then moves back to the left, but Jure has started to commit to the left also. Anthony then lifts off the throttle before Jure has a chance to duck right and the result is inevitably an accident.

Server replay time: 3126s

CE is chasing PaulW for 8th as he comes up to lap Popabawa. CE passes under braking for T2 but runs just a fraction too deep into the corner and drops a wheel off onto the dirt, sliding back on and collecting Pops. CE then does a good job rejoining safely on the inside of Laktar without impeding Pops any further.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 4075s

Jure, who is being chased by Picnic and is chasing Dirk, catches Eddie Meyer and Anthony Humphreys as they arrive at T4. The faster car passes Eddie on the brakes but catches Anthony unawares and there is some relatively mild side contact mid-corner.

I've checked it. The 'bug' in GTR where you could go early has been fixed, if you accelerate before the lights just before you rejoin the track you'll get a stop & go.

Pit lane exit is almost always at the lights on all tracks, you should not be accelerating before then.

Not in GTR1 it wasn't (at Anders). Personally I'd rather everyone knew what the situation was, but since it's impossible to police we probably have to rely on where the game enforces the limit.

Picnic has just pointed out that I missed GTC from the list of permitted classes. It should obviously be included.

Which is not quite as annoying as connection lost after 3 laps!! Angry Angry

Big waste of practice which I had hoped to see through into the race but not to be, feels a bit like my last full season where things kept happening out of my control.

Oh well, enjoy the race and see you at the next one. Undecided

We ordered calling via internet, which should start the 5th of april, but the provider just had to test things tonight Undecided. So I decided to jump out and not cause a mess (hope I was in time).

I am very sorry for anyone who's spot I've taken and left it open again so soon Lips Sealed

 Huh

What happened there??
Dave, went into pits after about 45 mins, loaded fuel, changed tyres but was never given the go ahead to leave!?
Sat there, pushing keys but no luck!?
Eventually hit escape as someone else was queuing behind!?

Did I go to the wrong garage or something!?

Confused!?

Martin

Lost connection in practice and then couldn't rejoin as the server was full. Finally got back in and skipped end of qualy. Good racing throughout  the race with those at the back and in the end I finished 19th (I lost connection a few seconds after the race finished - I hope the finish registered on the server). I was catching 18th quickly at the end - I went too long on old tyres and only pitted on lap 39 Undecided. In hindsite I should have pitted half way through to get even tyre wear and performance.

Till next time. Smiley

Brilliant Race, I really enjoyed the race. For once I was right on the pace, if I hadnt made a newbie mistake in the PITS and been "butt-raped" by a ferrari, whilst slowing down to let it past  Tongue, I could have been battling with Ginsters. BUT unfortunately I found myself a lap down. laugh

None The less, the learning curve continues, and Im slowly but surely moving up the grid.

Well done to the winners of both classes. Time to have a shower as I stink  Grin

Really enjoyed that- it is a nice change to be a GT driver in Endurance with the traffic keeping things interesting when your attention might flag mid race otherwise. My first time not on the recieving end in Endurance so I hope I didn't give anyone problems passing. I did find qualifying "interesting" when trying to work out whether NGT cars were on their out-lap and I could pass or actually hotlapping and I should drop back.

I think I was in 6th or 7th when I pitted and should have stayed there give or take a place but I had a comedy spin at the last corner as the car weight swings from right to left and lost the bonnet which I've never seen before!? And punctured a tire. Limped round for a lap and then pitted for ages with the pit crew actually saying at one point "there is something wrong with the engine- you might want to sit tight for a while", again, a new one on me  Grin Glad you were unscathed Paul.

Had a great last 10 minutes with Dirh (I think) - most enjoyable few laps I've had for ages- bet you were glad when I got past if only so that I stopped bloomin' bothering you!
